Ingredients

Wheat flour (I have 1c) 280 g
Frozen butter 100 g
Baking powder* 1h l.
Soda 1 \ 2h. l.
Sugar (preferably powder) 100 g
Salt 5 g
Sour milk (I have whey) 50 g
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Zest of 1 lemon (not used)
Cottage cheese 100 g
Milk for lubrication
Sugar for sprinkling

Cooking method

  • Mix flour with salt, baking powder and baking soda.
  • * I used 1.5 hours instead. l. homemade baking powder.
  • Chop butter with sugar (or better with powdered sugar, so that the structure is more homogeneous) and flour into fine crumbs.
  • Separately mash the cottage cheese with a fork, milk and lemon juice, add the zest.
  • Pour the curd mixture into the flour mixture, quickly knead the dough until large crumbs, stirring it as little as possible:

  • Cover the baking sheet with a silicone mat, lay out the dough, spread with your hands into a cake, 1.5-3 cm thick.

  • Next, cut the circle into 8 sectors and slightly push them apart from each other.

  • Brush with milk, sprinkle with sugar.
  • Bake in an oven preheated to 200C for 2-25 minutes until golden brown. The exact time depends on the size of the slopes and the characteristics of your oven.

Thanks for the great recipe, I made it once with soda, there was no baking powder, so a whole teaspoon was thrown. I felt the soda very much and I did not like it, although the family grinded at once. Today I did it again with baking powder - it turned out great!

My pack of spread was 185 g and a pack of cottage cheese - 200 g, respectively, and counted everything else by 1.85. As a result, this amount seemed to me too large for princesses, and I made it on a full baking sheet, cut it into squares.
While kneading, I thought that the result should be something flaky. But no. Either it has mixed, or it should be so.
Very tender ends turned out, lush, delicious. Only the soda is slightly felt. Trying straight warm beginnings. Cold soda shouldn't be noticeable.
Can they just be stored in a box or in the refrigerator? I think the box should be fine.
And I also think that if not a double portion, but at least 1.25, then princesses should turn out very well.
