Let's go without fanaticism !!! People express their opinions and they can be completely different. Someone loves technology, while others do not. And one cannot convince others. Many things that seem necessary to me, others do not need at all. And that's okay, why hurt each other!
IMHO: Cartoon is just a household appliance and certainly not at all essential. Better than just a cooker, because there are more functions (baked goods, soups). Convenient, sometimes lazy, if you don't bother too much. And the bread maker is the same. Let's live amicably.
Korata
all the same I will continue a little about the advantages of our "assistants".
I remember when I got a microwave. I was completely calm for being a son. coming home from school, he will warm up his food and will not play with matches, I will not have a headache - and did he not burn in his pan - did he put the butter first, and then the pasta. And did not his water boil away in a pot with sausage .. well, etc. Because I knew - poured (or put) in a plate - for 3 minutes in the microwave and that's it.
My mother did not spoil my brother and me with any baked goods. I still remember with envy the smell in a friend's house - it always smelled very tasty pies. She herself loved to bake, but when she came home from work and put down the dough, it was hard to bake it right there, because it had to stand, you need to make sure that it didn’t run away, crumple it several times. And only then to start baking - which turned out already far after midnight.
Now - even buns, even loaves with bacon ... even pies - is not at all a problem. And now they envy my son when they come to visit us, and we have soooo smells). And even when I leave, my son bakes bread himself (his favorite with smoked sausage and cheese). And now he himself also makes pilaf in a cartoon and buckwheat with sausages - these are two of his favorite dishes. And I am calm again - my son is not hungry and will do without a fire)))

Hello everybody! Again I missed the fun part!
And again battles on the topic "Multicooker"
Maybe we should organize an anti-advertising department on the site, where everyone can express their own fi about this or that device?

Soon for a year now, the topic of the multicooker appeared on good-cooke. Take a look, this is how it all began: 🔗
The first, indecisive steps in the development of the new unit, the first questions, the first achievements. And look now: 🔗
Isn't this a testament that the unit is good?
To be honest, the Panasonic representative office in Russia and neighboring countries received for free smart advertising, without spending a dime(I am voicing this especially for those who from time to time accuse me of being involved in the sale of multicooker.)

By the way, If this post is read by someone from the Panasonic representative office in Russia, kindly request, pay attention to your updated website !!! 🔗
It is very curious to know: to whom do you wish death? For the Japanese, sticks sticking out in rice means a death wish. Do you "love" us or your company so much?

I can only say one thing about my cartoon: she has never let me down.
Rice, milk porridge, pilaf are always delicious. The pastries are absolutely amazing. Soups - Questions to the owners of the multicooker from the one thinking about buying it... Meat, fish, poultry - you will lick your fingers! ...
Not a single failure in a year Questions to the owners of the multicooker from the one thinking about buying it
In general, bAAABig respect to Panasonic for the multicooker, and for the bread maker too.

Can you please tell me which device is better?
A multicooker from Panas, a double boiler or an airfryer ???
Based on what you want to do. Cooking well in a slow cooker. And if you want to bake pizza, sterilize cans when canning, then it is better to take an airfryer.
Yana
It is probably better to have both a multicooker and an airfryer.
shraybikus
That is, is a steamer device completely useless, because it is too narrowly specialized?
I heard that people have aero grills mostly gathering dust in the far corner of the kitchen, because it breaks them too much after use to wash. Type is difficult ...
Hope
In principle, washing the airfryer is not difficult. Only if the house has an oven and you do not do canning, it is not needed. I would choose a multicooker from this technique. I already have two.
Zest
: :) the question is not quite clear)) For what purpose do you need one of the devices? Well, I'll try it this way)) I personally won't buy an airfryer - there is an oven with all the bells and whistles + grill + the ability to preserve. Remaining Steamer And Multicooker. Let's do it this way. If for some reason you need to cook a large amount of food for a couple, then take a double boiler, there are more tabs (in a multicooker there is a tab, like one serving for my husband), and if you want a multifunctional device, then the cartoon is out of competition))
Arina
Read reviews on the airfryer on the Internet. From all that I read, I concluded that with an oven with bells and whistles, the airfryer is superfluous. And there are still claims to him.

Absolutely not useless! Since vegetables for salad, vinaigrette, etc. are prepared better and tastier than in water, and even more so they can be immediately cut into small pieces and boiled all together, including fish (meat, shrimps), eggs.
It is great to cook frozen vegetables for a side dish.

I only cook such dishes in a double boiler.

But, the airfryer did not take root, I gave it as a gift. This is just narrowly specific, only baked chicken or shish kebab, so this can be done in the oven.
And how much such a toy eats email. energy, it will not seem a little. You don't use it every day, and there is nothing to it.

And I have enough of a multicooker + microwave (mainly for heating) + an ordinary gas stove, and with the advent of multi, the stove began to be used much less often. I thought about buying an airfryer for a long time, but decided that I probably didn't need it. It is better to persuade the husband to buy a 2nd multicooker instead. And God bless her, with energy savings! What a wonderful unit this cartoon is! And complete with a bread maker (Panasonic SD-255) ... Almost nothing else is needed to be happy.

I decided to add a few words to this topic. I bought a slow cooker a month ago. Somewhere in the summer I came across such a topic at one conference. I read it to my husband, showed him, he liked the description, and the application is exactly like a cooker, he loves to eat porridge in the morning, and since I am an owl, and even not working, he had to cook porridge himself. It was not possible to buy immediately, for a number of reasons the purchase did not work. Then we slightly forgot about it, until in December there was a need to replace the bread maker ... yes, we sometimes go in strange ways ... In general, we ran to Eldorado (although I, like many, do not like this store), bought ...

I love appliances in the kitchen. And the most different. I love to cook too. But the routine work around the house somehow got tired, and I didn't want any frills, etc. it became boring ...This is where the multicooker appeared. In fact, a new household appliance, completely unlike anything else in my house, (and I just don't have something, both a deep fryer and a microwave oven are good from the same Panas, etc., etc.), so here is the desire to cook again! Apparently, the need to master a new device. Thanks to her for that.

We all choose for ourselves what we need. Therefore, we read various forums, we visit the shops, when we don't even need anything there, just to have a look ...

So, the multicooker does not know how to do anything that could not be cooked in other ways. Porridge can be cooked in a saucepan, in an ordinary one, in an enamel one, in an aluminum one, etc. You can bake a cake in the oven (there was a lot of baking and it was successful in its time). Pilaf can be in a cauldron (who has a gas stove). You can cook with steam in a microwave oven, on a stove, and in a special electric double boiler. The meat can be sautéed in a thick-walled saucepan over low heat. BUT! It saves us time and effort. This cannot be denied to her.

My impressions. On Saturday, my daughter asked for borscht. Well, borscht, so borscht ... I slightly fried three slices of loin on the bone, slightly sautéed beets, onions and carrots. I crumbled cabbage and potatoes, left everything in a saucepan, turned on the stewing for 1.5 hours ... and went for a walk with the children. When we returned, the borschik was ready. Warm and delicious. (by the way, the next day it became even tastier). I baked a gingerbread pie on Sunday. In the evening we drank tea. Today in the same way I threw potatoes + mushrooms + turkey, a little tomato sauce, for stewing for 1.5 hours, I ran to school for my son. They came, warmed the soup in the microwave, while eating the soup, the meat was extinguished. We ate it with pleasure. And now the question is, did the multicooker help me or not? It is simply a smart appliance that will find a place in any kitchen. She does not know how to cook herself, she will do routine boring work for you, freeing up time for walks / classes with children, husband, etc. In the end, she will have a little more time for herself. At the same time, you will eat deliciously, and not semi-finished products.

Like this. Apparently, everything takes time, I have friends who don't understand why they bake bread at home? Buy expensive in the store. And I like it, I enjoy it ...

Hello, what's the catch about the multicooker? What is the priority over a saucepan, a frying pan, a roaster ... and everything that is already in the kitchen. Explain to a newbie

And the advantage is that you will FORGET how to use a saucepan, frying pan, goose maker ... and in general everything that is already in the kitchen (not only will you forget, but in general the desire will not arise to cook anything in them) !!! You will gradually forget the way to the usual stove, ordinary pots will serve you only as storage containers in the refrigerator for ready meals! And there will also be a great desire and just an acute NEED to purchase another multicooker! So if there is an opportunity, take TWO multicooker at once - I assure you you will be grateful for your kind advice for a very long time !!!!!!!

And then, well, you just won't understand how you lived and lived without her all this time !!! :)
Girulka
Here, for example, is the convenience. Day off. My husband and I are going shopping. We were, walked up so that our legs barely walk .... came home hungry, tired, just something to eat a thread, so that it would not cook and not heat up - so that would immediately go to the plate! That's just possible with a multicooker! … And so we open the door, and there ……. and there the smells are incredible - just cooked pea soup with smoked ribs !!! We quickly washed our hands and eat soup with black bread smeared with butter at the table! Yum! As in a restaurant - we entered, ordered and immediately served - eat!
So, why so quickly - this is because my time was spent on soup before going out for a maximum of 15 minutes (in the cartoon, peel and cut potatoes, put peas, ribs, and fry, pour everything with water and salt, pepper, throw lavrushka, put program). And that's it! - the rest is already the work of the multicooker (cook and keep it hot until you arrive) !! :)
Lilyanna
To the owners of multicooker - the question is, is it really possible to drive everything at the same time. After reading this forum, I did not understand something. I understand - I poured the porridge with water, poured the cereal. But soup, borscht, pilaf, etc. - how can you throw everything at the same time? After all, let's say for pilaf, meat should be stewed longer, and then only rice is added. The same applies to soups. And how can you put everything on at night and get soup in the morning? In general, I liked the device, I just want to know. And is there enough castruli 4.5 liters for a family of 5 people (3 adult men). Thank you waiting for an answer
Mams
For pilaf, meat is not stewed, but fried first, then add onions, then carrots. All this I do in baking mode with the lid open. Then I put the rice, fill it with the right amount of water and close the pan. After 1 hour 20 minutes - the pilaf is ready.

Soup. I put everything in at once. And chicken (raw) and vegetables, close the lid - and stew.

The fact is that the principle of the device of action is such that vegetables do not boil down into porridge, as when cooking in an ordinary saucepan. That is, you do not need to first cook the cabbage, and then add the carrots, etc. Everything can be cooked at the same time.

About the number of people. I have two adults in my family, two children. We have enough for a long time. And then, you can put the finished dish into a saucepan, and the mule will cook the next

4 liters of potatoes, and then 4 liters of stew ... this can feed 3 peasants for a long time

natalka
In my family there is a dad, a husband and an adult son, a mother, me and two daughters. Total: 3 adult men, 2 adult women and 2 girls. Such a portion of soup is enough for us, and if someone does not want something hot (we have those who eat soups through a stick), then the rest will have enough for a couple of times. But with such labor costs, you can cook soups every day without straining.
natalka
Then you really need it. Although there is no stirrer, nothing should burn. You will have to interfere with the maximum frying, and then only because there is no special function and everyone uses "baking" for this, and then it will cope on its own. And by and large, the soup without frying will only be healthier, especially for a nursing mom, so you can not be loaded about this. If I cook without frying, then I put the leeks, they do not boil like onions, and all other vegetables feel good anyway. Buy, you will not regret it.
Elena Bo
The multicooker is not intended for frying, but if you really want to, you can. I fry on the stove, and my friend in the multicooker and this way she likes fried cutlets more than on the stove. They are more juicy and tender, although they take longer to roast. I also do all the frying on the stove, so it's faster. Then everything in a slow cooker and you can go about your business.
The soups are more fragrant and taste more intense than on the stove.
After stewing, the cooked may well stand on the heating and wait for you. Nothing will go bad.
Coating in the saucepan is normal. Do not put bones in there, use a plastic spatula and nothing will be scratched. I have been using it for a year and there are no scratches. With my soft sponge.

2. Soups with the “all at once” system of food are not as beautiful as on the stove. Transparent, but there is no "broth", which is obtained when browning vegetables.

So no one bothers to first fry the onions and carrots at the Baking function, and then immediately pour water to this frying and put all the other ingredients and transfer to the Stewing function. Well, the cooking time will increase by 10 minutes, but you do not need to use any additional dishes, but the frying is obtained, as in a normal classic soup. This is how many multicooker do.

Come on - wonderful soups are made in a cartoon. The richness generally depends on the type of meat. I do frying on Baking.

Milk porridge - tasty and boiled, with a light taste of baked milk. Made from millet, oatmeal (grains, not flakes), rice, yak, corn.It is very convenient to set on a timer: loaded in the evening, and in the morning the whole family has breakfast with freshly prepared hot porridge.

I don't have a multicooker yet, but I am tormented by one question, if you load milk and cereals into it in the evening, and in the morning the porridge is ready, but what about milk? Will it turn sour overnight? Maybe this topic was discussed somewhere, but I did not find an answer to this question.
Kosha
My milk never sour when I put the porridge in the morning.
True, I take the milk "Agusha", it has a long shelf life.
But now it is winter, and in the summer, in the heat, I will probably add ice cubes, as other multi users do.
Mams
I used "long" milk for a bread machine. She put milk bread at night. Not sour in 10-12 hours. If it is fresh (i.e. pasteurized), it will most likely turn sour.

I made a wonderful dinner here on the principle of "all in one". I didn't even have time to take a picture - they ate it. The point is simple. At the bottom - butter, baking mode, throw a bag (450 g) of frozen cauliflower (straight from the freezer), and there were also some pathetic remnants of freezing like "spring soup", probably 50 grams. I cut 4 sausages (also leftovers 2 milk + 2 with cheese). She fried all this a little (min 5-7, while cutting the sausages). I poured some water a little less than the level of cabbage, turned on the "pilaf" mode and went to the store for kefir. When we returned, I met the smell in the corridor ... The only thing, due to the fact that butter, I had to turn off the pilaf mode a little earlier (8 appeared on the display, and turned it off right away) so as not to burn. All four of us ate for dinner. The husband says, good, but not enough, but in the morning he said - class, there was no heartburn, he slept like a baby. And delicious!
Aglo
Come on - wonderful soups are made in a cartoon. The richness generally depends on the type of meat.

What about the foam? When cooking soup in a regular saucepan, remove the foam as soon as it boils. And in the cartoon?
fugaska
no foam in the cartoon should be removed from soups! in addition, if you "underfill" the water, that is, pour it so that the water does not completely cover the potatoes, then there will be no undercooking either - it will go steamed!
Aglo
And yet, it is not clear. When the soup is boiled normally, a lot of dirty gray foam is obtained when it boils. Apparently, there is dirt or at least something unnecessary in the foam, if it is removed during normal cooking.
In the multi, the boiling process is also going on, therefore, foam should form. Or, for some reason, no foam is formed?
And if it is formed, but not removed, then this is hardly good.
Boo Boo
All my life I cooked broths from a pressure cooker, I have never removed any foam, now I cook in a slow cooker.

Quote: Aglo

There is no dirt in the foam. It is a coagulated protein and removes foam more for aesthetic reasons.
In a multicooker, there is no such effect as on the stove, since the boiling is slow.
Dusya Myshkina
The foam in the broth is the clotted blood from the meat.
In the cartoon, because of the slow boiling, it does not flow out of the meat, and the little that has flowed out and curled slowly settles to the bottom.
I always bring the first broth to a strong boil over high heat, pour it into the sink, rinse the meat and dishes well.
And after that I put the meat in a cartoon, fill it with clean water again and cook it in the "stewing" mode.
The broth is perfectly transparent, and there is no dirty sediment at the bottom.
She always did this when she cooked jellied meat or aspic. There the transparency of the broth is a critical indicator.
Lenusya
Girls, tell me, what is the minimum portion you can cook in a multicooker?
I ask, because the pan is not small - 4.5 liters. I cook a glass of buckwheat or rice as much as possible (I usually cook small portions, because during the week everyone is at work and in the kindergarten). I cook in 1.5-2 liter pots (such are my eaters)
Ksenia
The people think ...Yes, for the second year already, it cannot be less than two multicooker !!! She lured her husband to build a teraska only with a new cartoon. Mom tried it in the country and, returning home, said - I can't live without her! (This is the third, as you know). I found a second one for my friend: as a gift abroad, so she ... took her to the dacha, and took some nonsense abroad.
At the expense of gas - I turn on the stove once a week - check if the gas is flowing. Frying is done in a cartoon on baking, and only then meat and so on. This is the taste. Well, I wrote there about mushroom soup - look. And about the cauldron on the stove and, they say, I'm leaving the house ... Well, this is simply irresponsible, because the stove cannot be left unattended according to any rules. And the cauldron - so it was already in the Neolithic, so, of course, a proven option.
Hope
I have 2 multicooker. What happiness: they fried and boiled, and the baking in them is wonderful !!!
And at night she works for me as a yogurt maker. On the advice of members of the forum, I learned how to make wonderful yogurt in it. I put it right in the jars. I used to want to buy a yogurt maker, but it turns out that you can do just fine without it.

And what amletics are obtained in a cartoon (just from the word AM-NYAM-NYAM) ...

I still dream of buying another Unit-1000 for soups. Although this is a pressure cooker, but with all the functions of a cartoon, and a capacity of 6 liters, which will be just right for my big family. I dream, I dream, but I can't find it. There are online stores, but there is a problem with delivery to the regions.
Kosha
natalka!

And what, besides curdled milk, do not like in porridge?
It's just that multi porridge seems to me, on the contrary, very successful.

I never curdled milk, although I cook exclusively on a timer for 10-11 hours. I use Agusha milk in proportion with water 50/50.

What kind of porridge did not cook! And they are all very decent. My household likes the barley or barley-Poltava one the most. Sometimes I add corn grits to it.

They also treat buckwheat milk porridge favorably. True, sometimes, secretly from them (for greater benefit) I add half a cup of cereal oatmeal to buckwheat. They haven't noticed yet, so they eat.
Otherwise, you can't put oatmeal in them ...

Millet, especially with pumpkin, is a very beautiful and aromatic porridge.
natalka
Thank you girls!
I get porridge and like it very much. Porridge with meat, with mushrooms, and just classic are good, but the dairy ones seem to taste right (not sour), but a seemingly not very beautiful picture turns out. That is why I assumed that the matter, perhaps, was not in the sour milk, but in the froth, since I tried to cook on different milk and always the same result. True, I have not tried to try again for a long time, perhaps I lost hope.

Questions to the owners of the multicooker from the one thinking about buying it
First, I sterilize them in the microwave for 1 minute. Then I take 1.250 liters of milk and warm it up there for 3 minutes. my milk is sterilized, so I don't boil it. After that I add a jar of yogurt activization to the milk and mix well. I pour it into jars and put it in a cartoon, after pouring a little warm water into it so that it covers the bottom. Warm up for 30 minutes and leave for 8-9 hours. Then I close the jars with lids and refrigerate.
Now my husband and I eat our own yogurt every day. And you don't need any yogurt maker.
You can take different jars, the main thing is that they fit in a saucepan.

I also want to say about porridge. And I have such garbage with milk, like Natalka: the output turns out cereal mixed with a little curdled milk, although the taste is ordinary. I cook porridge in the morning, not pour it in the evening, the milk is fresh. In addition, it often burns slightly. If I do not intrude into the regime, it is too boiled down. I read that all multicooker is a person who makes yogurt, and who has cottage cheese for the same time. Can this explain the quality of my porridge? ..
I read and wonder. My milk porridges are always excellent. They never burn and milk does not curdle. Because of cereals, I mainly bought a slow cooker. She cooks milk porridge perfectly.
We seem to be talking about different devices here. Freken Bock , and you bought your multicooker in "Eldorado"?
Elena Bo
Once I got such a porridge from oatmeal. I was very surprised, because the day before I made the same porridge and everything was OK. Most likely the milk is to blame, although it was long-lasting. I can’t find any other explanation.
foxtrader
It was given to you Eldorado :-) My parents from this cartoon store. And porridge is always excellent. And I have it from another store, and in the evening the porridge put on it can turn out so badly. If I put it in the morning, everything is in order. And don't forget to wash the inside of the lid well. I somehow forgot to wash it after stewing the meat and put the porridge. So the milk curdled.

Girls and boys, hostesses and hosts. Multicooker owners. Let's briefly describe the "+" and "-" of our wonderful devices. Why is this needed? Today on another forum a question arose, but actually, what is so wonderful about the multicooker. So I want to collect all the pros and cons in one topic. I know that there is a similar topic "questions from a person thinking to buy ...". But there are questions, and here we will collect the pros and cons, without discussion. Just a personal experience.

I will describe my impressions:

"+" - with the advent of the multicooker, my family finally began to eat soups. Before that - I don't want to, I won't, I'm not interested. Now - what will be the next soup? Many soups were cooked for the first time in a multicooker.
Oil... We spend it several times less. If earlier a pack of butter (200-250 grams) left a week, now it is enough for two or three weeks. Now I practically do not fry in butter. Vegetable, consumption has also become much less. Frying meat for stewing on the stove and in a slow cooker is a very, very difference. In mulk - a tablespoon. In short, the benefits are everywhere.
Double boiler - we are not fans of such food, and although there has been a conversation about her in the family for a long time, we still could not get together. And now, if you really want to - then you can always, a little, eat - delicious, tomorrow you can fry the meat. Today I cooked potatoes, carrots and eggs for a salad - literally two each. I’ll make a salad for dinner, we’ll eat it with pleasure.
Bakery products... In general, I bake with pleasure, in the oven, in the microwave ... Now in the multicooker. Remarkably holds t-ru, delicious muffins, biscuits, etc.
Rice, buckwheat, pilaf. My children are not very fond of buckwheat, it's a pity, of course, but it's a fact. And after the multicooker - they began to eat. She's so fluffy. With rice, you don't need additional body movements. Rinse it after boiling. Pilaf, of course conditional, rather "porridge with meat". But it's also delicious. And convenient.
Timer, auto power off. Rarely has anyone not had to run home or stay at home when something is being cooked on the stove. Here, of course, it is extremely convenient that she stops cooking on time, whether you are at home or not.

"-" - here are purely technical things. It is inconvenient that the top cover cannot be removed. Not very convenient to wash. It is inconvenient that there is no turn-on timer, that is, it is impossible, as in HP, to ask to cook rice for your arrival. It is not very convenient to remove the pan from the multicooker, but these are trifles. Now there is one more disadvantage, the price. They pulled it up so that you wonder, the dollar is falling - multicooker has risen in price almost 3 times ...

That's all, actually. Write, colleagues in the kitchen workshop

It is inconvenient that there is no turn-on timer, that is, it is impossible, as in HP, to ask to cook rice for your arrival.
Here is a mistake. On all auto programs on the left (Buckwheat, Pilaf, Milk porridge), the timer mode works. So cook the rice - no problem and with a delay in time
Rustic stove
For me, the BIGGEST plus is the presence of the Milk Porridge program with a timer. Breakfast problem solved since the evening

For me personally, the function of a double boiler turned out to be unnecessary, since I use a large separate steam boiler. But this is more likely not a minus, but simply an overabundance.
Sveta
+ is that you can cook various cereals without straining. This pot was purchased mainly for cereals. They turn out to be simply amazing. Before that, I cooked porridge on the stove, in the microwave - it's all wrong. Either they burn, or they turn out dry.
I like the extinguishing function. The meat takes longer to stew than on the stove, but it tastes better, breaks down into fibers, preserving juiciness. In soups and borscht, all vegetables retain their shape, do not boil over.
I use "heating" quite often, when the dish should be hot by a certain time.
This device is a great help for the hostess.
Of the minuses, I don't even know what to call. I only have a cartoon for a few days.
Cake
Oh, okay, and here, in this Temko, I will speak out.

"+" - nothing ever boils away under any circumstances;
began to make dishes that I rarely did before (time consuming) - homemade fermented baked milk, jellied meat, boiled pork .... a lot of things ...;
there are no more problems with a full breakfast (they switched from sandwiches to cereals and casseroles);
food has become more healthy - significantly more dairy products, stewed vegetables and meat instead of fried (without losing taste!), an abundance of cereal dishes.
cooking in small portions - due to this there is less waste (tired - not finished)
"+++++++" - Amazing time savings with timer and plug and go.
measured and calculated recipes for members of the forum here and on Good Cook - (weight, time, program name) - as a result, everything turns out SUPER!

"-" - it is impossible to disable the "Heating" function. That is, if you are not at home, then after cooking, the mode automatically switches to the "heating" mode, and this is not always convenient, sometimes it is necessary for the dish or pastries to immediately cool down.
I'm not worried about the non-removable lid - I wipe off the condensate with a rag and that's it. There is no particular pollution. The pan can be removed very easily, it is inconvenient only when it is HOT. Then, yes, you can't pull out a hot pot by a narrow side with an oven mitt ...
I would also like a separate "frying" function. On the "baking" mode, you can fry, but it turns out a bit, faster in a frying pan. But this is not a minus. just a remark.
These are my observations.

Hope
There are a lot of pluses. Of the minuses, I want to note a very delicate Teflon coating and it is difficult to get rid of the smells of garlic, onions and spices. I solved the problem with smells by buying a second multi. Now I have one for meat, fish, etc. etc. I use the second for baking and making yoghurts.
