And this ingenious way of preserving eggs arose, as often happens, by rotozy ... Previously, eggs were often boiled in a hot oven, after putting them in a pot and filling them with water. Apparently once the water in a pot of some hostess completely boiled away, and the eggs were baked. However, you should not assume that the recipe for roasted eggs is exclusively Russian. They were familiar with him in Western Europe and in the Urals and Siberia.
