Cooking method

  • If you like boiled lard with spices and sprinkles, try this recipe.
  • We cut fresh lard into small pieces, approximately the same as for pickling in jars (so that they can crawl through the neck). Mix the lard seasoning with salt. The seasoning itself contains salt, but I tried to cook it without adding salt, the lard turned out to be lightly salted. Dip the bacon well into the mixture and leave for a couple of hours on the table. Then cover with a lid, place in the microwave, 600W for 5-6 minutes. We try with a toothpick for readiness, if the toothpick goes through hard, turn the fat over and set it for the same time. It should be borne in mind that the fat reaches a little more, do not overcook. Cool and refrigerate. Anyone who does not like seasonings can be cooked without them. In this case, dip the bacon in salt mixed with ground pepper, cook in the same way, and after cooking, coat with chopped garlic. Lard is prepared quickly, the only drawback is that the skin becomes harsh.

There is a spice "Kozatska", it is lighter, but mine is more like "Panska" under the trade mark "Lubistok". It contains salt, dried garlic, ground red pepper (paprika), crushed mustard, cumin, coriander, ground black pepper, savory, ground red pepper (chili), fenugreek, marjoram herb.

I cooked for 6 minutes, did not even turn it over, and it was already ready. And I always make about 5-6 pieces and it takes 6 + 6 minutes. That is, you can safely cook 3 pieces in 6 minutes. Try with a toothpick so that it goes in more or less easily, but not like butter.
