Calgonite is much more aggressive ...
Washing is a separate topic, but even there who knows for sure - the manufacturers of calgone convince us of the urgent need for its use. And the servicemen suspect the same kalgon of corroding the rubber seals of the machine, just those that the "master" shows in the advertisement ...

About dishwashers - let me disagree. I have had dishwashers for a relatively long time (about five years). There was Ariston, now Millet. I have never saved on salt and detergents, since the funds quite allow the car to be repaired more expensively. I used almost always calgonite (and salt, and powder, and rinse aid). Sometimes interspersed with Crystal Fix, but not often. Both on Ariston, and now at the mile, the water hardness is set to the maximum. We have very hard water. The salt is used very well. Plus, I use pills, but I don't include the pills (this is now a recommendation in the mile - do not save salt with hard water, there is not enough salt in the pill). Well ... I don't know how good or bad calgonite is, but after 3 years of work in the nozzles of the sprayers in Ariston, scum plates constantly got stuck. Thin and flat. The same as in the teapot are usually.I broke them with a toothpick (they are fragile) and knocked them out. It means that the heating elements are covered with it and there is clearly not enough salt. With some frequency it is necessary to fight scale.
To be honest, I did not find a direct mention of citric acid in Millet's PM cleaning product. There are a bunch of surfactants, additives for gum seals and other chemicals. But in all that I met in powder form - there is. In some it is just stupid lemon and nothing else.

At first I was upset because I heard her picking up water (don’t rush at me - noodles - with your slippers - this is my first PMM!), Then I was a little upset when I heard water jets over the iron tank. Then the machine turned on the turbo dryer - to her credit, silently, and her husband began to make fun of and tease, they say, the manufacturer measured the decibels on the fan operation. And then my refrigerator started working - it seemed like it was screaming in the middle of the night (old OKA), before that it seemed that its sound did not bother! And suddenly my husband and I realized one comforting thought - it's night! Silence all around - you can hear the car, but we are talking in a half-whisper - the children are asleep - and we can hear each other perfectly! They turned on the rinsing again and I went to the next room, leaving the doors to the room and the kitchen open. Almost NOTHING is heard in the room !!! In general, the main test was postponed to today.
And today I filled it to capacity with dishes smeared with butter, dough and years of dirt from storing some utensils in a box and decided to test the automatic mode first. We turned out to be right - during the day the noise from the gathering water did not strain at all - it was barely audible (and I was nervous to the sounds and smells), nothing was heard from the next room. The children were offended that she did not call them to the start of the launch - they also did not hear anything. In general, in my opinion, my Asko won the sound comparison with Boshik of one of the latest models from my friend. When the washing was over, I was puzzled: the pots with the dough were washed clean, the fat and oil too, and the rest ... the utensils that had been lying for many years did not wash off ... from the first time, the sour, seemingly unreachable, greasy crust began to peel off with flakes. The car beeps, I - crazy - stare inside, because the car is turned off and open - I don’t understand what’s the matter! Mechanically I begin to close it (forgetting that the lower basket with plates, etc., had been deflated), the lower basket, with a deafening clink of plates, whistled back inside (well, at least nothing broke!). Itself, spitting on the plates, I look at the bottom of the door - at the "status light" - the red signal is flashing! I glance at the scoreboard - it says "overflow"! I was scared to the point of foolishness in my head! I don’t know who was in charge of my hands at that moment, only by some instinct I poked my finger at the “Start” button ....... and a miracle! .... the squeak and red blinking stopped, the scoreboard returned to standard positions program selection!
