Kenwood BM450 bread maker testing |
Advantages: The model is equipped with a fan that circulates hot air through the oven, so that the loaves are evenly baked. In general, the loaves from Kenwood turned out to be very harmonious (beautiful and tasty), which is due to this small device. Disadvantage: increased noise level.
Test resultWhite bread (photo 1) turned out delicious, fluffy with a crispy crust. Brioche on a bun (photo 3) - sweet bread for tea, which is especially good with jam or honey (we chose honey). Kulich (photo 2) turned out to be a giant. You can see that its shape resembles a mushroom; when baking with its hat, it rested against the lid. Obviously, the recipe (it is not taken from the book, but provided by the brand service) exceeded the yeast norm. But if we evaluate the cake from the point of view of practice, it is baked perfectly, browned almost evenly (it itself interfered with the air circulation process, blocking the space from above) and very tasty.
FunctionalPrograms: 15 + 5 individually configurable - basic, quick baked white, whole grain bread, quick bread with wholegrain bread, French bread, sweet bread, quick yeast free, brownie, gluten free bread, dough, homemade dough, jam, pizza dough , baking, accelerated baking. • The user is offered a set of modes for different recipes. White bread can be baked in the first setting, duration - over 3 hours. In case of a shortage of time, you can choose a shortened 20 minutes. program. Rye and "gray" breads are prepared in a program with half an hour of preheating food, it lasts almost 4.5 hours. It is possible to make such bread as soon as possible - in a shortened cycle in 2.5 hours. • An interesting program for baking gluten-free bread: it is intended for people on a special diet. • The Cake mode is used to bake cakes and other products without yeast. Quick program for yeast-free dough - for gingerbread, cake cakes. • There are three dough preparation modes. Homemade ripens for more than 5 hours. The other two modes last for 1.5 hours and differ only in the intensity of mixing. • In addition to ready-made programs, it is suggested to compose your own. There can be up to five of them. Loaf: 500, 750, 1000 g. Bucket: brick-shaped (internal dimensions, W × D × H: 185 × 140 × 145 mm). • Bucket and paddle dimensions ensure complete mixing of the components. The loaf turns out to be attractive, moderately high. • A round bucket (which is purchased additionally) was brought to us for the test. You can see for yourself how good the cake baked in it looks.
Features:On the inside of the lid there is a dispenser for automatic loading of components. Its plus is convenience, especially if you use a timer. The downside is not such a comfortable loading, and after triggering its mini-door remains open.
Control• The touch buttons are beautiful, but not always convenient, especially if your hands are in flour or are wearing gloves: the panel will simply not respond. That is, you will have to make unnecessary movements: rinse your hands or (excuse the naturalism) just lick your finger, pulling off the mittens. • The process of communicating with the oven is one of the most comfortable in the test. Everything is very clear and simple. The selected parameters (weight and crust) are indicated by arrows. A program step is indicated by the icon. • The most interesting thing is the self-introduction of parameters for your own programs. This is not difficult, since there are standard settings and limits are given for each stage: preheating (up to 1 hour), kneading 1 (up to 10 minutes), pause and kneading 2 (up to 30 minutes), rise 1 (up to 1 hour ), kneading, still lifting (up to 2 hours), kneading and third lifting (up to 2 hours), baking (up to 1.5 hours) and standard heating. You can compose programs for your own or gleaned from the Internet interesting recipes, change them, customize them for yourself. I think experienced bakers will appreciate this opportunity. • The delayed end timer is designed for 15 hours. Baking mode allows you to select a cycle time from 10 to 90 minutes.with a step of 10 min.
Comfort• The bucket fits neatly into the socket and is fixed by turning (round - the same way). • The car is one of the noisiest in the test (maximum 5 points). • The device is equipped with a backlight (it is turned on by a button), which is very important if it stands in a poorly lit place. • The door panel does not have a window as such - it just has narrow gaps. So, in combination with the backlight, everything is clearly visible, and you don't need to open the stove again.
CareThe inside is minimal, but outside you will have to constantly maintain the cleanliness of black glass, on which you can see traces of touch and the smallest specks of dust. The power cord is brought out from behind, length 1 m.
InstructionsSatisfactory, everything is explained in detail, the programs are scheduled in tables, the instructions for programming and using the timer are clear. Advice for beginners on the choice of products, on possible mistakes, etc. are given. The appendix contains a colorful cookbook with a large number of recipes adapted to the device.
AestheticsThe stove is undoubtedly one of the most attractive. The shape is very simple, but the materials are beautiful and modern. Pay attention to the thin cover (the glass is covered with metal from the inside), to the well-processed edges of the parts. The appliance will go well with a glass ceramic hob or a black glass hood. And also a stove, oven, extractor hood or refrigerator, finished with stainless steel. A source: Buy magazine Household appliances №10.12 |
