What drinks do you put on the table when guests come to you? Carrying bottles of mineral water or "poisoning" your friends with cola?
I cook according to my grandmother's recipe

Apple drink "Birthday".

I usually boil this drink in a 10 liter saucepan.
We buy 2 kg of the cheapest apples, mine, we remove the core. We throw apples into boiling water. When the apples are soft, add sugar to taste. You don't need a lot of sugar, because we will drink with a drink not only sweet dishes. Bring to a boil, turn off, throw 2 bay leaves into a saucepan, cover and set to cool. When it cools down, remove the bay leaf.
If you come across apples with red peels, great! The drink will have a soft pink color.
I give you a guarantee that none of the guests will guess what the drink is made of, and I also guarantee that your guests will drink it all!

Stеrn, tell me, please, do you need to remove the apples from the apple drink? Or do you need them with a blender?
(when I boil an orange drink, there the oranges are whipped after 24-hour aging with citric acid and boiling for half an hour with a blender)

reta , do not beat the apples !!! The drink must be transparent! : :) And do not forget, when it cools down, throw away the bay leaf !!! I did not filter the drink. I just gently poured from a saucepan into a decanter or jug.

And the apples? Throw it out too, right?

I tried it, I liked it ...

Only ... I want to shuffle the citric acid in there, or cook it with lemon ... It's not that I put too much sugar, it's just that there is not enough sour note.

! How do I add lemon notes correctly? Maybe just squeeze a lemon ...

The apples remain in the pot. Throw away when the drink runs out.
If the apples were sweet, of course, there is not enough sourness. Just toss the lemon peel into the pot. Just try it first, isn't it bitter!

Here I am the brake! I wrote about the peel of a lemon, and now I’m afraid she’ll beat off the taste of the drink! Maybe it's better to add a drop of citric acid?
It's practically tasteless.

I almost always (if any) add a couple of cups of lemon to the compote ... it doesn't taste bitter
Stern
Celestinochka, the drink tastes "Spitz-fit". I'm afraid that the lemon can interrupt the taste.

Good day to all
Excellent recipes - with soul and poetry thanks to the hostess.
I was personally very impressed by the recipe for apple compote with lavrushka - this is some kind of magic
We have a harvest of apples this year, it's almost winter, but I have an apple menu all over it - apples in pies, in meat, in compote, in desserts. A lot of ovish recipes came in handy. But this compote is JUST super cool. And his son (he is 2 years old) drinks with pleasure. Thank you for revealing such unusual secrets to us.

Apple Drink Birthday

And I missed something on this recipe. And for especially smart ones, hang some water in grams in liters?
Stern
Throw in the apples and fill them with water so that they don't flop on the stove during the boil!
