Potatoes with bacon "Nostalgia"

No easier and tastier
Lard potatoes for lunch!

Thoroughly dry the peeled and washed potatoes, cut without cutting through, with a "book" - about 3 mm slices.
Finished lard without skin (not raw! -I took slightly smoked) or cut the loin into thin slices and put these slices between the "pages" of the potatoes. Grease a glass pan with cut skin, put prepared potatoes in it, sprinkle with seasoning (I sprinkled with dry paprika and seasoning for minced meat), cover and put in the oven at 180 degrees. When the bacon begins to drain to the bottom and boil, reduce the temperature. I cooked potatoes for about an hour.
Z. Y. My oven gives a golden brown crust even when the lid is closed, so if necessary, open the lid shortly before ready and bake until golden brown. We check the readiness by poking (with a knife or fork).

Gaby
, dear and beloved by all, I report, though without a photo. I was cooking potatoes the other day and what I want to say is so yummy. I cooked potatoes and meat, baked in the oven at the same time and came to the conclusion that I am ready to eat such a potato without any meat, it is so delicious. Thanks for the recipe, I voted +1.

Ready-made bacon without skin (not raw! -I took slightly smoked) or loin

Sternochka, and why lard, in your recipe, should be necessarily not raw and without skin?
Stern
Qweenusik, the skin will thicken, but raw bacon will not give such a taste!
Qween
Sternochka, oh, and we love with any fat that is. So this is a matter of taste.

If I bring fresh lard from the market, smashed with straw, who is there waiting until it is not raw?
Sprinkle pieces of bacon with spices and salt. While I'm heating the oven and my potatoes, the bacon is already pickled.
I insert lard with a skin inside the potatoes, then the skin turns out to be gelatinous, soft. Smoked with straw, the skin is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooering all the potatoes from it.
Stern
Qweenusik, don't forget where I am!

No wonder the potatoes were called "Nostalgia". There is raw bacon with oak skin and is not tasty at all.

I like it more and then, like more vitamins

Stelochka, has already cooked such a potato twice in a micron - very quickly, in 10 minutes at 850 W, tried it for 5 minutes - it was not enough. I read here in the topic about microwaves how Makhno suggests baking potato halves under lard and I took a chance to cook this recipe, everything worked out, only more fat is melted out of lard. I cooked for the first time, two potatoes for sample, on an old plate, which I covered with a lid from a glass pan. Quite quickly compared to an oven and much more economical if this oven is electric.
How delicious it is, I don't need any meat or fish to accompany me with such potatoes.

P.S. When cooking in the microwave, you don't need to cut the skin off the bacon, the skin remains soft and edible, just like on fresh bacon.
Stern
Gabi dear, thanks a lot for the microwave cooking recommendations!

P.S. Even after cooking, the skin of German bacon remains tough, and therefore I cut it off.
