Peace be with you bakers!
I was sorting through my old papers the other day and came across a price list
cocktail bar of the restaurant "Moscow" and immediately breathed reckless
youthfulness and in the mouth a distinct taste of champagne-cobbler cocktail
quite popular in those years

And by the way, in those days, the bar was selling native French cognac NAPOLEON and MARTEL, they cost 25 rubles. per bottle 720 g

I found information on the southern
this is our analogue of curaso
Fortress 40%, total extract 35 g / 100 cm3, sugar 35 g / 100 cm3, color according to standard No. 10 - 60 mm, according to FEC at A = 413hmhS = 5mmD = 0.26-0.32. The color is golden yellow, the taste is sweet, slightly pungent, citrus aroma. The blend includes aromatic alcohol of orange peel, color scheme, tartrazine.

it seems to me - the southern one can be easily replaced with cointre, the cognac can be taken with a more expensive one - so hello then it is unlikely that it will work. I was familiar with the barmaid from the Arbat bar (under the globe with windows on the ring) - she said that instead of brandy - vodka with tea leaves, instead of champagne - fireworks, instead of liquor - punch. only the original compote! how do you?
in the Broom I was from the so-called. "Metlovsky" (not from the "Bauman"): Johnny, Tikhon, Colonel, Bukhoi, Arthur
then I got a job - to lead discos in "Studio-99" at the "Dukat" club - not the main host - there was the main cool one - with "Cruise" he drove around the country as an entertainer, like even - but in the 80s a cruise is what something
then "Studio-99" first place in the USSR !!! took - we were so bulged in "Beijing" - could not stop for a week.
Thank you for this thread - I returned straight to my youth
At home, at first I collected everything from those years on audio, and now a lot on video.
once again - many thanks!

I want to share my experience in making shooters.
Basic rules for composing shooters (in my experience):
When planning layers, consider density. The density on the bottles is not indicated, but the amount of sugar is indicated. For us, the amount of sugar will be equivalent to the density. The higher the density, the lower the layer.
In the process of pouring the second and subsequent layers, the axis of the container from which we pour the liquid should be located between the positive axes of the abscissas and ordinates. That is, when we pour from a full bottle, its axis is between the positive abscissa and the negative ordinate. This is due to the fact that the boundary of the layers will be clearer in laminar motion with a minimum velocity than in turbulent motion with high velocity. I really don't know how to explain it more clearly ...
It is advisable to get a bar spoon.A bar spoon differs from the usual blunt (rounded) end, a long handle and some kind of garbage at the end (such as a small fork). We absolutely do not need the latter, but rounding is needed again to convert the turbulent flow motion into a laminar one. You can try to do without it, but I prefer to use it.
When pouring, try not to make the distance between the upper level of Kahlua and the stream large (the acceleration of gravity will increase the speed of the liquid falling into the liquid and spoil the clarity of the layers).
Since the preparation of cocktails requires a fairly large number of alcoholic beverages with an average price of about 800 rubles (and I am not yet Rockefeller's wife), it is better to purchase glasses that effectively emphasize the layering of the drink, with a minimum consumption of alcoholic components. In my opinion, my fluites (small triangular in the photo) are just made for this. You can save money and do in regular piles, but this saving option can be very expensive. I buy bar accessories here.
You need to start with the simplest shooters. For example Black Russian (it is in almost every cocktail menu, but, in my opinion, disgusting). Only two layers - Kahlua (sugar about 40) and vodka (sugar 0). Put five glasses in a row, pour Kahlua (coffee liqueur) and wait 2-3 minutes. Let the liquid settle. Now take a bar spoon (or non-bar spoon), turn it over with the bulge up, and attach it to the inner edge of the glass at an angle of 45 degrees, 5-10 mm above the Kahlua level. Do you have a full bottle of vodka? Then pour the vodka into another container (you can just a glass), but so that this container is filled with vodka by no more than 40% (then the axis of this container when pouring will be between the positive axes). I think even in the first shot you will get a real shooter. Pour the remaining four glasses with an interval of 3-4 minutes, varying the angle of the bar spoon and its distance from the upper level of Kahlua. Now you can choose which layer border you like best. Did you find making shooters very easy? Yes, if the difference in sugar is 40. If the difference in sugar is 5, then it’s impossible to get an even border, only a blurry one ... Did you like the experiment with Black Russia? Then replace Kahlua with Creme de Ment (menthol liqueur, sugar about 25), and get a Cough Pill. The cough pill is not as well known as Black Russian, but it can be drunk ... But getting the border will be more difficult, because the difference in sugar is smaller.
I don’t know what I have forgotten ...

Actually, it was supposed to be Bi-52. But when I reached for Cointre, behind my back my brother-in-law grumbled "A ... Bi-52 ... Everyone knows that ..." My hand slightly changed direction, and instead of Cointre I took absinthe. Brother-in-law was expelled into the hall due to illiteracy. After an hour of good behavior, I explained that it was not Bi-52, but Bi-53. An hour later, the brother-in-law returned with a note of protest. Like, the Bi-52 is so named after a heavy bomber, but there is no Bi-53 bomber and began to demand that the Bi-53 be renamed into ... it seems, Tu-160. Brother-in-law was expelled into the hall by his sister with the iron argument “I'll leave you hungry”. More brother-in-law did not rush to the kitchen.
Bi-53. Kahlua, Baileys, Absinthe (fluitechka).

P.S. Help on absinthe just in case. Absinthe is an alcoholic drink infused with herbs, with a strength of 70%. Banned in many countries. It was also banned here earlier, it was allowed during perestroika. So be careful.

Everyone orders the Russian flag. I tell everyone that you can't drink it, it's disgusting. But at least once, but everyone tries. I'm not sorry ...
Russian flag. Grenadine, Curacao Blue, vodka.
When asked why the top layer is transparent and not white, answer “What about the Russian flag without vodka?” All questions disappear. And to be honest, I do not know of a white drink with a low density other than milk. Only if instead of vodka you pour milk there, then this is no longer just disgusting, but a direct threat to the bathroom in the sense of high attendance ... Although, if you have a desire to eliminate some of the guests at least for the evening, make him an exclusive Russian Flag with milk ... Or for a rival ... Well, like, for a best friend ... Continuation. About non-alcoholic cocktails. Unfortunately, the unreceived October salary did not allow me to show the whole range, and to be precise, I did only one. But, since the principle of compilation is the same for them, I will try to compensate for the rest verbally.
Prelude. When I was on vacation in Egypt (all inclusive, that is, alcohol is included), then I often observed the following picture. Women of the Balzac age of Soviet thinking (to which I myself belong) approached the bar and ordered a cocktail with a dreamy air.There was no Russian guide in our hotel, very few people spoke English, and they pronounced the word “cocktail” with the desired English accent. What the arap did made a shock impression on me. He took orange juice from bags (like Zuko, if anyone remembers him), dripped syrup there (there were a lot of them, all colors of the rainbow) and served the client with a smile. It was not the worst thing. The most terrible expression of pleasure these women had when they drank this filth. On the third day, curiosity won out and I ordered this drink for myself ... It turned out to be exactly as nasty as I imagined it to be.
For a delicious non-alcoholic cocktail, you need four ingredients:
The main fresh. I have it orange. Or it can be any: kiwi, passionfruit, grapefruit, etc .;
Syrup to the bottom. I have grenadine (pomegranate). And maybe again anyone. I have Monin's syrups. Their color scale ranges from white to black (that is, green, blue, yellow, red, etc.);
Syrup upstairs. I have Curacao Blue syrup. And maybe again any;
Lemon or lime fresh.
And the technology is very simple.

Pour the main fresh into a glass;
Dripping a couple of dashes of the bottom syrup (the syrup is much heavier and it will fall to the bottom like a stone);
In a shooter, stir 20 ml of water + 10 ml of fresh lime or lemon + half a dash of top syrup;
Gently pour into the glass over a bar spoon.
As a result, you will get a cocktail that will consist of three layers: sweet (bottom), relatively neutral (middle) and sour (top). By dropping the straw higher or lower, you will drink contrasting layers. This is a classic non-alcoholic cocktail, and it will have nothing to do with those Egyptian ones!

I hope that the above has conjured up in your imagination a rainbow of blue-yellow-red, green-red-black, etc. cocktails. And here I am smoothing down a photo of a pomegranate-orange-lemon cocktail.

In the light of the acquired knowledge, I consider it advisable (uh, skazanula) in milk / cream cocktails to replace all milk / cream with 0% milk whipped in a French press. The splendor will not be less, but these% ... Well, they nafig !!! And even more so 20% cream. And even more so in sprayers !!! Ladies drink milkshakes, do we need these extra calories? That's right, not needed.
But is it possible to whip 0% milk until cream from the spray cans ... We must try ...

Peace be with you bakers!
this is certainly not a cocktail, but in order not to smear it on the site I will publish
in this thread so:
parody of BEILIS liquor:

vodka 05
condensed milk 1 can
ground coffee / instant coffee-4 tsp
milk chocolate - a third of the standard bar
mix the vodka with condensed milk, melt the chocolate with the coffee put in it and mix well again \ mixer blender \
put in a warm place for 2-3 hours and then in the refrigerator for 1 hour

it turns out pretty good, but you can play with the ingredients
and for those who are on sweetness turned for a snack to such a liqueur, I suggest
also CHOCOLATE:

condensed milk -250 g
sugar - 500g
cocoa-100g
water - 150g
oil-50g
make cocoa syrup from sugar and water, mix with milk and pour into
mix warm syrup, then add oil and beat well further in the molds and in the refrigerator
if desired, you can add some kind of filler
also do not interfere with 2-3 tbsp of brandy

Better to smear it here.

but at home I still prefer ordinary fresh juice, without any syrups for pomegranate fresh, I do not have enough patience (reluctance to get grains), but I can peel 1 grapefruit, 2-3 oranges, 3 tangerines and 3 kiwis and pass it all through a juicer. the output will be about 1 liter of excellent delicious and wholesome fresh juice !!! here the most important thing is to defeat laziness and then you will be rewarded in full !!!

fugaska , I have already read articles in magazines twice that fresh is an insidious thing. Juice has a completely different (high) glycemic index, and without fiber (i.e. fruit pulp) it is not absorbed properly. Because of this, if you want to lose weight, weight does not decrease. And type 2 diabetes can develop.
Fresh juices can be drunk only for medical reasons, and under medical supervision.

I do not pretend to be the ultimate truth.
But because of this, I didn't buy a juicer. As a matter of fact, I read this information, because I was interested in the question - is it useful or not!

Cocktails

Theory. Here I, however, will repeat myself, but ... it's better than "I already wrote this, look somewhere."
So, to prepare shooters (shooter - multi-layered drink), you need several alcoholic / non-alcoholic drinks with different densities. I think that only Khimichka can measure the density of us, and will not even refuse those who wish, but ... every time we go to Ilyichevsk ... we are not a boom! We will take the concept of "density" equivalent (more precisely, then directly proportional) to the concept of sugar.
1. We take four identical containers, pour over the liquor:

Cocktails

2. We measure the same volume of our liqueurs on the scales. So we can begin to navigate what is harder for us and what is easier. Received almost the same. I think the difference could be one and a half times.

Cocktails Cocktails Cocktails

3. Pour sugar into each glass ... well, from a third. The fact that it does not all dissolve is not very important for us. Somewhere like this.

Cocktails

4. Then there are two ways of development: add sugar and stir, or ... in the microwave. I put it in the microwave for half a minute. In the topic about liqueurs, enough has already been said about heating alcohol in the microwave. On my own I will add that there is a possibility of an explosion if the microwave is faulty. Or rather, the air flow and bare heating elements are difficult. Although ... I've never heard of explosions in microwave ovens, only a few people make liqueurs in the microwave. If you don't want it in the microwave, you can just stir it.
As a result, the liquor in our glasses turned out to be heavier than that in bottles due to sugar. And so that it is not very sweet, we drop a lemon there. Taste. To make it sour.

5. So, we have three components ready. We take a container for the cocktail itself (I have a glass of fluite) and pour heavy liquor there (that is, the one where we stirred the sugar) so much to take 20-25%.
6. Next, we take a light liquor (what is in bottles) and pour the container (a glass, a glass) so that it takes no more than 45%. I have this jigger. In general, a jigger is a yardstick. I bought it when I knew how to make cocktails, as now - mastic. Now I use it as a stack. Well, I have no stacks ... Hurricanes, oldfeshes, martinkas, flutes, highballs, etc. are, but stacks - no. In short, this is not a jigger, this is a transparent ordinary pile, did you imagine? So that's great. Transfused? Fine!

Cocktails

7. Take a bar spoon:

Cocktails

Where do I go with a bar spoon? Go right now? Okay, don't shout. We take a coffee spoon:

Cocktails

Did you agree? Well, okay. Fluite can I leave? Thank you! And here is an ambush! Fluite walls are located at 60 degrees to the horizontal. For shooters, only martinka can be better (but martinka loses due to its volume). How much to the horizontal? 90? That was not a fig was so much scandalous because of a bar spoon. Okay, 90 will do too. I've been looking for my fluites for a year.
8. So, we lean a non-bar spoon against the wall of the glass with heavy liquor at 45 degrees against the wall at a distance of 7-12 mm from the upper level of the heavy liquor.

Cocktails
If we set it high, we will have a surplus of kinetic energy transferred from potential. And we do not need kinetic energy in FIG. Let it remain in the potential, so it is better. And the position of the spoon is dictated by a decrease in flow turbulence. We need laminarity. Well, the last thing, if anyone is interested ... That's it! We pour !!! If someone did not obey and left Spotykach in the glass for more than 50%, then it will pour down with you, but ... along the wall of the same glass where it was. And if less than 45% - it will not flow upwards? So it will pour where it is necessary. And here's what we got:

Cocktails

9. Now, back to theory. For cocktails, there is one rule - the rule of three SSS (sour, sweet, strong / sour, sweet, strong). This rule should not be observed, but strive for it. The classic BI-52 is a terrible violation, but ... the exceptions only proves the rules. So how many S do we have? Two (sweet liquor and lemon juice). What is missing? Strong. And what did we have my name? Vodka. There is no sugar in vodka at all, so it should lie like silk. This will be the last layer. Here's what we got.

Cocktails

So we have three heavy liquors, three light liquors and vodka in stock. By swapping them, we can do:

Cocktails Cocktails Cocktails

10. Didn't it work? Five times and nothing? So they burst? Then we rest. We take a glass. Pour vodka into it. 70%. And on top we drink any heavy liquor. Here's what you get:

Cocktails

Of course, the layers are not so obvious, but it's still beautiful. And we rest further. Pour a light liquor into a glass, and on top of a heavy drink. It will turn out like this:

Cocktails

11. Well, for Tortyzhka? !!!

Cocktails Cocktails Cocktails Cocktails Cocktails

Cocktail Tortyzhka can be made even if there is no Spotkach, Lemon, or Sweet Couple. Under the motto “I blinded him from what was”.

Another rule of layers .. Firstly, they should alternate in color (light / dark or red / green), and secondly, in taste (sour / sweet / sour).

Variations. I don’t understand why you shouldn’t shuffle blue food coloring into Lemonny… You get a poisonous green color.Have you seen mint liquor? I don’t think that mint gave such a bright color without dye ... In short, if we also introduce dyes, then ... the bars are resting. Then you can count these peacocks ...

Surely, there are members of the forum who will find the idea of homemade liqueurs too laborious. It's easier to go to the same Fragrant World, let alone liqueurs there ... of all colors of the rainbow. Easier. It's even easier to go to a restaurant and order. There is no need to carry bags, or to wash the dishes ... And why strong is necessarily vodka. Not necessary. Strong is rum, tequila and whiskey. It's just that it's not just a cake. This cocktail Tortyzhka during the economic crisis is twenty times cheaper and does not contain preservatives. Because there is only what we stuffed there !!! And we didn't stuff anything bad there !!! All. The end.

Additional respect to Tanya1962. I write very often that I do not have my own recipes. There is a reputation, there are loaves, but no recipes. And then I went to the Bar accessories and in Tanya's post 1962 read that I am in charge of cocktails here. I have recipes too !!! I just forgot! And when Tortyzhka wrote that everyone should come with their recipes, and remembered that post.

Friends, I really want this treatise to be useful to you !!!

Today is a holiday in the spirit of the times! Straw Day!
The first artificial cocktail straw was invented by Marvin Stone, the owner of a factory producing paper cigarette holders. The husk from the natural rye straw in the cocktail annoyed him, therefore, taking a strip of paper, Stone smeared its edge with glue, wound it with a "screw" on a pencil, and then took off the resulting straw. On January 3, 1888, Stone patented a cocktail straw in Washington.

Fugasca, an option for you.
You can change tequila to any transparent drink of 40 degrees. Vodka will roll too.
You can change grenadine (pomegranate syrup) for any syrup in the nearest supermarket. Strawberry, cherry ... If only red. And forward !!!

You’ll practice well ...
