Cooking method

Introducing the traditional recipe for making popcorn without the use of newfangled appliances and a microwave oven.
You will need a four liter iron saucepan with a lid.
Take a glass of hard corn, peanut butter.
Never use butter, as its flash point is much lower than the flash point of vegetable fats, so it starts smoking and burning before your corn is ready.
A small piece of butter is best added to the finished dish.
Place the peanut butter in a saucepan and place over medium heat.
Place a couple of corn kernels in a saucepan, cover it, leaving a small gap for steam to escape.
When these two test kernels have burst, quickly remove the lid and add any remaining corn to the pot.
Place the lid back on the pot, leaving a gap for the steam.
Discharge of steam will make your popcorn feel airy and tender.
During the cooking process, it is necessary to slightly move the pan on the stove, without removing it from the heat.
Be sure to bring a towel to hold the lid without worrying about your hands.
When the grains begin to burst, quickly remove the pot from the stove.
Shake it lightly to allow the hot oil to cook the remaining whole grains.
After the grains stop popping, transfer the popcorn to a clean pot.
Add salt to taste, grated cheese, and other spices popular today, such as Kazhenskaya salt.
By the way, never add salt and spices before the grains burst.
The salt will harden the outer shell of the beans.

Note
Well, the popcorn is ready, turn on the TV!

Recipe from the book "Technique of cooking, self-study guide of culinary art."
I watched the same recipe in the program Cooking with Jamie Oliver.
Everything is quite simple and fast - if you believe the TV screen!

Admin, does the corn variety play a role? We bought 10 r a bag of popcorn in grains and in a frying pan with a thick bottom, but without oil, as described in the recipe here. Here I think a corn field is 100 meters from the house. In the fall, does it make sense to take a walk to collect it for these purposes?
