Ingredients

Light-salted herring 1 PC
Beet 2 pcs
Carrot 1-2 pcs
Green onion taste
Potatoes optional 2-3 pcs
Bulb onions optional 1 PC
Egg 3-4 pcs
Mayonnaise taste

Cooking method

  • Another option for your favorite dish "Herring under a fur coat". The multi-colored layers are not hidden as usual, but delight the eye with the brightness of the colors. This version of mayonnaise goes much less, which means that the salad is more dietary.
  • Boil vegetables, boil hard-boiled eggs, cut herring fillets into slices.
  • Divide the eggs into yolks and whites. Separate half of the proteins and grate on a fine grater. Grate egg yolk, carrots, beets too. Rub the rest of the proteins after the beets, you can mix with the released beet juice for better coloring.
  • Chop green onions. If you like herring with onions, then for the bottom layer, mix pieces of herring with pickled thinly chopped onions (I have white parts of green onions), season with black pepper. Apply a mayonnaise mesh on top and lay out the second layer - grated potatoes on a fine grater (I did without it). Season with salt and pepper if desired. Apply mayonnaise on top of the potatoes and lay out all the prepared ingredients one by one in multi-colored rows.
