Here, I found a video. You can see how much cheese you get. In principle, it suits me, but, of course, not enough for a family:

There is even more likely not cheese, but cottage cheese, since it is squeezed out without a press.

I figured it out for the money, did a little for the sake of experiment. It turns out a kilogram of homemade cottage cheese (at our prices for the cheapest milk, about 40 rubles), about 200 rubles, and about 320 rubles of cheese. So I wondered if I need such a bucket if I buy cottage cheese for 130 rubles a kilogram on the market ...

I think we need to buy a couple more of these.

Ksyushenka, I cut such mastic into even, identical strips, if the design of the cake suggests. Actually, I bought it for mastic. I tried to cut the greens as expected, I didn't like it. The greens are clogged between the blades so much that later you won't get it very well. Not for greenery, for sure.

Want, Bijou, to Peter. We have 18 rubles for 800ml in the People's milk, 3 bags each give + 2 liter bags of kefir (all 1%). It turns out 54 + 30x2 = 114r for 4.5l. It turns out 800-1000g of delicious cottage cheese.

I decided that I would not order a bucket, but a press. It won't come in handy now, maybe later, let it lie.His dimensions are also suitable for me: 14 * 10.5 * 9.5 cm, and 2 times cheaper. And I can boil milk in a micron and in a glass saucepan. Girls, thank you all for the links and discussions.

And without the press - is it not the same thing as self-pressing? Not?

Caprice, I did not prove anything to anyone, and it was not about this form at all, but about the form for tofu. Adyghe cheese is essentially compressed cottage cheese, but not under pressure, but under its own weight. And if you carefully read my messages, I just said that special form for tofu can be safely replaced with any colander, because the essence is the same.

Well, in cheese, I understand a little bit more than squeezing a lemon into milk.

Our shop cottage cheese is also expensive, on the market homemade cheese is much cheaper - 150-170-180 rubles each. A friend buys this for me at the market from the same saleswoman. She makes a discount to her friend for being consistent.

Yes! Berner also threw it after buying Victorinox! Now only Victorinox, I have already bought 3 different peelers of this brand! This is a bomb! I love Victorinox !!! And their kitchen knives ... it's just a song! Each cost 300 rubles, bought a year ago, still sharp! The husband also switched to them, made all relatives and friends happy with them. Everyone loves it!
By the way, this is a great gift idea for the New Year! ! I recommend with scalloped edge art 6.7733 or 6.7233. You will not regret!

Girls, is this tofu press suitable for regular curd? Are the holes big? Otherwise I decided to order the one for Tofu. Or do you need to cover the mold of the press with gauze?

Well, I didn't give knives! I sold them for as much as 1 ruble! and did not quarrel with anyone!
I also want to show off a very useful purchase - I bought a Victorinox anti-cut glove, I really liked it! Now I'm not really afraid to cut myself! And that has already been seriously cut several times by Berner and Victorinox. When I read about Kevlar gloves, I wanted to buy, but I didn't know which ones would really protect my fingers. And the Victorinox brand has established itself perfectly as a manufacturer of very sharp knives. Who should know about protective gloves if not them! I bought it and I'm very happy!
There is a fruit holder, but it is not always convenient to use it, especially at the beginning, if, for example, you rub carrots. And without him, just watch that the vegetable does not twist to the side! And now I rub without a holder and I'm not afraid that I will cut myself! Article 7.9036. The size was really only L, but I turned it inside out and slightly shortened the length of my fingers

So I wondered if I need such a bucket if I buy cottage cheese for 130 rubles a kilogram on the market ...

I have a different accounting department.

I've been making cottage cheese from milk + sourdough for years ... I don't remember, for a long time.
From milk + lemon or + kefir or natural sourness - I don't. Since it is easier with sourdough and the yield of cottage cheese is greater.

Weight depends on how much sagged.
And how much sagged depends on what I need - soft cottage cheese for food, dense for cheesecakes, etc.

Now I buy milk (ultra-pasteurized) for 40 + - rubles. I make at once from 2 liters in a multicooker, before in a Brand 4001 yogurt maker 3 liters.

I consistently get at least 700 grams from 2 liters, sometimes 730-740. That is, from 3p. I get a little more than 1 kg.

But even if it is exactly 1 kg. This is the sum of 3 liters + starter culture.

But I re-ferment cottage cheese like yogurt. With sourdough, this is a two-step process - fermentation (38 degrees) for 6-8 hours, and a water bath (70 degrees) for 1 hour. Before the second stage, that is, before switching to high temperatures, I select a can of "curdled milk". And next time I ferment - milk and 1.5 + - tbsp. l. selected.

In contrast to selected yoghurt, selected curd sourdough lasts longer - 6 + - days. I have time to re-ferment min. Five times.

I have different starter cultures. There are Vivo (9 hryvnia = about 25 rubles) and Good Food (14 hryvnia = 38 rubles) brought from Ukraine. Here I buy only Orsik 24 rubles. (if for 240 rubles buy a package with 10 pcs.). But sometimes I buy other starters, they cost about 50 rubles.

Total:
For the first time because of the selected approximately 500 gr.
The rest 5 times 700g.

Only 4kg. cottage cheese from 12 liters. milk (6 times 2 liters each) + leaven
For the money: (40x12) + 30/50 rubles. = 480/500 rubles.
That is, 1kg. cottage cheese = 120-125 rubles.

Well, even for 45 milk, then 140-145 rubles.
I don't know how much cottage cheese costs in the store.

But we as appointed this business, so at least the pancakes in the house started up again, because it sours normally.

Miranda, you are a heroine.)) And in general, everyone who regularly fiddles with sour milk is heroic heroes.
For me this is a feat, more than three times in a row inspiration is missing.
Miranda
Bijou, thanks, but I don't see heroism

Since heat the milk to the desired temperature, pour out a sachet of sourdough or add a couple of spoons of the selected one, stir, pour into a multicooker and turn it on overnight, and in the morning put yogurt into a jar (or fold the cottage cheese, and shift in the evening) - in total it takes less than 10 minutes of my time.

I brew tea longer
