Scarecrow, Hello! Thank you very much for the awesome recipe. For a long time I dreamed of eating barley, many things repelled / hindered: like many girls, my husband also has barley in any form, neither in mushroom soup, nor in an independent dish, all the more so, it turns out that it is not so easy to find barley on sale ... As a result, I gathered my courage and decided to pamper myself with my beloved.
Took, as in the recipe 2 m. Art. pearl barley, 2 cf. carrots, 2 onions, about 250 grams of boiled porcini mushrooms, sl. oils, salt, spices.
I washed the pearl barley several times, then soaked it in warm water for 3 hours (it happened).
Algorithm, as in the recipe, Porridge, 0.7, 30 minutes. Cooling down under a closed lid. It turned out very tasty (it took my soul away). It was possible to cook less: either a long soaking "helped", or such a pearl barley. I took McFoo.
Scarecrow, Thank you again. Recipe sincere

Natul, I made your pearl! First I "steamed" for 2 hours in a multicooker at 80 *, and then cooked. Well, onions, carrots, dried porcini mushrooms. I liked this porridge, I will cook more. Only next time I will cook from 1 multi-glass, I have a lot of one out of 2.
Scarecrow
Yes, long soaking can drastically shorten the boil time. And in terms of quantity .. well, yes, I have five eaters))). One is to burst)).

Nata, yesterday I bought a barley barley for a promotion and immediately decided to cook it. It turned out very mentally! I only cooked in vegetable oil, the taste at first seemed to me not as rich as in butter or ghee, but it stood, infused and became just a masterpiece. There is no photo, because I pounced on her, it was not before

became just a masterpiece

Of course !!! With such and such list of ingredients composition she was simply left no chance !!!

It would be amazing if you got a pearl taxis ...

And the masterpiece is the most adjective of hers !!!
Scarecrow
liyashik,

Do you fast? This is me about replacing soybean with vegetable. A chic dish for fasting: hearty, really tasty.
liyashik
Nata, yes I do. Until yesterday, honestly, I was indifferent to pearl barley. My husband periodically asked to cook, I indifferently listened to his pleas. Now we are on the same wavelength with him)) How he praised yesterday)). Song
Nata, can you come with me?

We do not regret butter (ghee is better)
I did not regret anything, Oh, and it turned out delicious !!!
NataThanks for another side dish recipe.
Instead of mushrooms, I put dried eggplants, the adults liked it
The pearl barley was pre-soaked for 4 hours. When boiling water, I added ≈1: 1.2

Oh, pearl barley! Haven't cooked in a while. And there are mushrooms!
Scarecrow
liyashik,

Oh, how I didn’t answer the "you" offer.))) Of course you can!
It was exactly the opposite for me - my husband didn’t see her because he had overeat in the army, but I love her since childhood. Well, now he loves and adores.)))

M @ rtochka,

You're not greedy!)) I'm talking about butter)).

I went to soak the mushrooms, in short ...)))

Ninelle

Tusik, there are several questions) ...

We soak the mushrooms in what water: cold, warm, hot or no difference?

Please tell me, is it absolutely necessary to cook the barley together with the frying (onions, carrots, mushrooms) or is it allowed to add the barley to the ready-made barley?

Listen, it’s a pity to pour out the water from the porcini mushrooms, can we use it when cooking barley?

Quote: Scarecrow
Pour boiling water over until the multicooker is marked for 2 cups of rice or 2 fingers above the barley level (if you just cook in a saucepan).

The rule 2 fingers above the barley level does not apply to multicooker cooking? Or as a reference point, too?

I do not always measure out cereals in glasses, sometimes I rinse everything that is left in the bag. The weight of the cereal is different. If you wish, you can, of course, transfer grams into glasses and calculate the amount of water, but ... two fingers above the level and norms)?
Scarecrow
Crochet,

I wash in cold water. I do not add water from washing anywhere. Only if replaced a second time, there will be garbage and all that. Frying ready-made is not that. While the barley is cooked along with the frying, you also stew the barley and its broth soaks the cereal. And so you will have frying separately, barley separately. Even mixed.

Just measure the groats that you left in the bag with a multicooker glass. How much. And focus on the glass and the risks of your cup. The two-finger rule doesn't work for cartoons. They are all different, they evaporate in different ways, the algorithm of work is different. In the end, some cook under pressure, others do not. It turned out you have 1 glass and another 1/3 - so pour water at risk for 1 glass and a little more on top of the shower. Just do not forget to pour water on top of the cereal and only then bang the frying, it also takes up a decent volume, your proportions will go astray.

After the holidays and salads, I was drawn to pearl barley! True, today without mushrooms, I made it with stew. Dump your head off after festive salads! Natasha!

What a charm, this hot pearl barley with mushrooms ..... Yesterday I soaked it in kefir for the first time, today I made it in Elik. My husband doesn't love her much, although he did not serve in the army, but once a month I cook her - eat her.
Scarecrow
Ekaterina2,

Yeah, Katyusha. Here in the hunt, when you get bored - just food for the gods.

Katyusha, what proportions and what mode?
Ekaterina2
Antonovka, made on crumbly grits, the water is 2 fingers higher than the barley-onion-carrot-mushroom mixture. It was soaked in kefir overnight.
Antonovka
Ekaterina2,
Thank you)) I will!
