Tanya, convex, I've already shown gingerbread
Mona1
I saw that, Verun. You just wrote 9 cm, and I have them at 11, and at 9-10 at me with straight lines. from I got confused. And yes, the letters are pleasant, streamlined, like soap.
ledi
I decided to make the size smaller. Everyone is shocked by the prices. I don’t know how to bake big gingerbread. After all, no one thinks how much work you put into them.
Mona1
And I brought here rabbits the size of a matchbox and teeth, even smaller sprout. The husband bent from the old felling. In a rabbit, the joint is not an overlap, but a butt joint, and the tooth there did not cut the old shape at all, they just straightened it and bent it in a new way.

Beauty, smooth edges, pleasantly rounded! Liza, and you, I look, make a drawing, and then you apply it on it, look and bend it right, right? Or do you make a cardboard stencil and go around the metal around it?

Yes, I do it according to the drawing, I did not know what could be done using a cardboard template))) I will have to try.
Mona1
It is more convenient on the cardboard. I read this once on the internet, someone made molds and described how to do it. My husband bent the rabbits, so I demanded that it was perfect along the contour of the cardboard and that the cardboard "without squeak" would fall into the clearing, sliding along the walls. ))) If in some places it is narrow and did not fall smoothly, then the OTK is not passed, I say - fix it!
Cleo
Help girls. Maybe someone knows where in Ukraine to buy this clamping tape?
DaNiSa
Cleo, maybe at a construction bazaar or in hardware stores
Mona1
I met on the construction market recently, only from one seller and at an exorbitant price, but it is perforated, that is, there are holes in the middle of the tape, the size of large sweet peas. Galvanized tape, width 2 cm, thickness 1 mm, the seller said - they are of different thickness and width. I didn’t buy it, it’s very expensive, and the seller is muddy, he didn’t want to measure the length, he says - for this skein - 350 rubles (about 130 UAH). And in a skein, he says, it is about 22 meters. But I was lying, I feel like a liver, it looked like a skein - it was no more than ten meters. On Monday I’ll go for reconnaissance, I roughly know where the firm is located where this seller purchases.

HERE, but I bought it and regretted it, the skein is really 10 m, the tape is thick, so it bends, but it was a fool anyway, in general, money wasted. True, it costs 80 UAH in our country.
Mona1
Kitty, Tanya, just thick, probably, the tape got caught. Maybe 1 mm as I met. Liza just bought it, there is 0.5 mm and a width of 1.5 cm, and not 2, of course, it bends easier, I think. And I slowly involve my husband, now we have a taboo on throwing away cans.))) We bought scissors for metal on the same market, they cut cans into the desired stripes perfectly! From one can of stew you get 4 - 5 stripes 30 cm long. From mackerel - 4 strips 25 cm long. Of course, the cans in our price are not with corrugated sides.
Nansy
Girls, and I made myself shapes from this perforated tape. She bends more or less normally, in general, I did everything to myself. True, you need to cut it off with scissors for metal, glued the joint with cold welding. The molds turned out to be not perfect, of course, but quite suitable for gingerbread. As time will be, I will take a picture of both molds and gingerbread
Mona1
Natasha, what is your width and thickness?
Nansy
Tanya, width 2 cm, thickness about 1 mm. It was inexpensive, a roll of 25 m - 230 rubles, I bought it on the regular market. Of course, it bends more difficult than the tape in the video, but it is quite suitable if you make an effort. These gingerbread cookies are all made using these molds:

Oh, Tanya, I'll take it as the time will be! I already promised Alenka :) I have Korean nozzles, number 000
Nansy
Girls, I'm showing my molds as promised. They are, of course, crooked, but when baking, the edges of the gingerbread are leveled and smoothed, so they are quite suitable for themselves

Girls, and I googled, and it turns out that you can order a clamp tape on the Internet. Moreover, there are different widths and thicknesses on sale. And I saw the length of skeins and 25 m, and 10, and some are selling. There is not preforated, there is perforated, But it is heavy (perforated is easier here, of course), the parcel can come out a little expensive, unless the online store is in your city and pick up by yourself.

Hello everyone! And here I ran around all the shops, and there is no leroy and baucenter anywhere, only perforated, but I look girls and they made good ones out of it, I had to take it. I'll probably go on the outs ..
Mona1
Girls, does anyone have experience of making papier-mâché molds? I think he can do it for Easter eggs.
Albina
Tanya, What's the problem? Forms from papier-mâché are made simply: an object is first pasted over with a first layer of paper dipped in water. And then with newspaper or paper smeared with paste in several layers. Allows to dry. And it is removed. If the form is closed, then an incision is made around and removed. Then both halves are connected at the incision site. And glued with a new layer of paper moistened with glue.
Mona1
Yes, I just never dealt with papier mache, but here it also needs to be exposed to high temperatures during baking. Maybe there are some tricks so that the shape does not deform while not burning, you need to know something else important.
Albina
Tanya, to be honest, I made papier-mâché only against painting. But to put it in the oven ... I don't know how she will behave. Although, probably if the layers are coated with a steeply welded paste, then it can pass normally. What's the idea?

Tanya, do it boldly, the main trick is to dry the previous layer well, before applying the next one, I made eggs out of napkins, then I closed this case with foil and baked, everything is fine, so don't worry. Principle - you smear your shape with paste (boil the flour with boiling water), apply a layer of napkins, I tore them into pieces and put them tightly, dry them (I dried them on a heating battery), then dried the next layer, and so on several times, I did either 5 or 6 layers, I don't remember already, then you carefully take out the form on which you glued it and dry it just a little more inside, just in case. Everything, papier-mâché is ready. I will attach several photos to you, but there is already a finished result.

Kitty, it turned out great! And as such, you can use a real egg, what do you think? Did you glue on the real or did you have some kind of egg shape?

Tanya, I used an egg from a kinder, only there the halves do not connect the way we need, so I glued it together, and then I heated the knife and sawed it lengthwise. : a-kiss: the present is very fragile, you can also try foam eggs as a base, but is it worth spending money?
Natkamor
and is it not easier to make not a hollow workpiece, but a whole half from salted dough? in the same kinder as in halves, put the dough inside and dry
Elya_lug
Mona1, Tanya, the egg mold can be taken from Kinder-Joy, there is a plastic shell of the egg, or rather a half, if you make papier-mâché inside, the egg will be smaller. if outside, then more
Homemade gingerbread cutters. Templates and stencils
Mona1
Natkamor, Natasha, an interesting idea, but I want to make 8-10 pieces so that I may not bake one piece at a time. And then these 8-10 hollow ones will take up less storage space. Well, I have not only eggs in my plans. I want hearts, all sorts of sidewalls on boxes and stuff.

Kitty, Tanya, her, foam is excluded, I get goosebumps from his rustling, I can't touch the foam, that's such a property for the body.

Elya_lug, Elya, a good thought about kinder.

Girls, the other day I bought a screen for copying, a kind of toy for kids from 6 years old, I used it to carry a drawing on a gingerbread, as they once wrote in a gingerbread Temka about this method. And finally I got it. Today I tested it, I am very pleased with the result. The picture is visible on the gingerbread very well, the screen itself is about half an A4 sheet size, for medium-sized gingerbread cookies it is very suitable, I have a picture of a shark 10 * 10 cm. The screen is a piece of thin plexiglass, in principle, you can make a similar thing yourself if you have one plexiglass. Normal will work too, but will suddenly crash. I did not put the picture directly on the table, but on a booklet as thick as a gingerbread, so that the drawing and the surface of the gingerbread were at the same height.
Homemade gingerbread cutters. Templates and stencils
Then, looking through the little screen at the gingerbread, I draw contour lines along the lines of reflection on the gingerbread.
Homemade gingerbread cutters. Templates and stencils
This is what happened in the end
Homemade gingerbread cutters. Templates and stencils
I hope it will work with more complex gingerbreads too, because so far I liked this method much more than others for its simplicity, speed, and aesthetics. And what my experimental shark looks like already with filling, I will show tomorrow. (This is me as Scheherazade from "1000 and 1 nights". Now it is still drying.
I bought it here, but it is also available in other Ukrainian.sites. In Russia, too, there is something similar, but it is called something different, although the principle is the same

🔗

I also noticed that the quality of the reflection is influenced by the angle at which we look at the gingerbread through the glass screen. it is necessary as if from above so that the gaze falls, as if at a sharper angle, then it is better reflected than if you look perpendicular to the glass. And also - maybe from where the light source is - a window or a lamp. I was sitting at a corner table, half-turned to the window (the window was to my left, as it were), while the screen was not facing the end, but perpendicular to the flow of light (that is, the light fell on the screen at 90 degrees).
ledi
Tanya, of course interesting! thanks for sharing! I have already ordered. Tanya, do you get a picture on the left, and a gingerbread on the right? Is there a screen between them? as in the photo. Yes? otherwise I used to imagine this way, from myself - a picture, a screen, a gingerbread, I thought that I needed to look through the screen, well, like through glasses, I ordered a magnifying glass, but I don't have a printer
Mona1
Vera, Well, in general, you need to look through the screen, you thought correctly.))) Just not a magnifying glass, but just glass. As we look at the street through the window glass, so here too, just not directly, but as if slightly from the side. And the printer, in truth, is sooo necessary. the picture you need needs to be made on the computer in the required size, turned over in a mirror image and printed on a printer, usually I make templates for cutting gingerbread, this picture is already of this size, but there is one caveat. To use it for a small screen, it is necessary to turn it over on a computer in a mirror image, because when a picture is reflected on the glass, then an inverted image falls on the gingerbread. Well, then I print on the printer and you can use it. After this editing, I will collect all my template pictures, next time they will be ready. This preparatory work is very simple, if you don't know how to do it, I will give you a hint.
If there is no printer, then you can use your ready-made pictures, but then bake the gingerbread in a mirror image, turning over the cutting.

Tanya, in which program do you turn it over? I have such a screen since spring, I do not use it.
Mona1
Zhenya, I edit all the pictures in Verde. I got used to it, although maybe in Painte you can do it too, but somehow I got used to Verdu. Well, I cut gingerbread cookies mostly not with molds, but I make templates out of cardboard. I liked the picture in the internet, I save it on my computer in my daddy, and then when I want to make such a gingerbread, I copy and paste it into Verd. There, if you click with the mouse on the picture, then it seems to be in a frame. And if you move the mouse over the corner, then the arrow appears, you need to press the left mouse button and, without releasing it, as if by the corner along the arrow, pull. The picture becomes larger or smaller, then I print it on the printer and visually see if the size fits or not. If it is necessary to further reduce-increase, then I pull by the corner. And turn it over in the same way, but not by the corner, but by the side wall of the frame and pull it sideways, as if you were turning a page of a book. And to do this, of course, when I have already edited the final size of the picture (the future template). When you turn it over, there is a ruler at the top of the page, first look at the width of the picture so that after turning it over it is exactly the same width. Then both the template and the picture will be absolutely the same for you, but mirror-opposite. You cut out gingerbread with a template, and use a mirror picture to copy through the screen
Ljna
Mona1, Tanya, thank you, I understood. I knew that you can change the size, rotate the same. but what can be done in a mirror, I didn’t think of it
lutik54
Mona1, Tanya, how to type Verd correctly? I tried to find this program and it gives out anything you like, but not what you need.I can zoom in and out in the gallery, but I can't make a DSLR. I pulled on all the corners and sides, only achieved that the image was reduced to a strip.
kavilter
I think Verd is an ordinary Word
Mona1
lutik54, Luda, my son installed WORD (aka WORD, as Kira correctly wrote) on my computer, this is a very common program, you probably have it too.

They are, of course, not perfect, but there is no need to search and order. Made what I want and the right size. Both are slightly over 10cm. I bought a 0.55mm thick packaging tape in a hardware store, took the pliers from my husband and off you go!

And the tape is not steel? .. I will not get a steel tape ((
Although my husband has long bought different pliers and bought a tool with flowers when I work, it helps a lot))
Quote: mamo4ka

And I want you to inspire me, this heat completely melted my desire. So I went to do it. How long did the tape take? for me this is a problem, and with a thread I measure and miss
TatyanaI don't even know for sure whether it is steel or not. The label on it is worn. I searched for a long time in construction markets and shops, explaining on my fingers what I needed. Then I found it in a large construction supermarket, it turned out that it was a container tape (I explained that I needed mounting tape, steel tape, etc.). It can also be very strongly perforated. This has its own benefit - bending the shape, you can simply tie it with a ribbon through the holes. And I took a not very perforated one, the holes there rarely coincide, I don't know what to fasten, maybe I'll take cold welding.
Larissahow much it took I don’t know ((I measured it by eye. Moreover, it’s not so accurate that having cut a piece into a piece of paper, it was enough for me both for a piece of paper and for a bell. The roll of ribbon is large, so I don’t save money. will than buy each form (+ delivery). A roll of tape cost about 400 rubles in rubles. So count yourself. I have already made 4 forms from it, and at least a dozen more will come out. It's difficult for me to tune in, every time I'm afraid that nothing But as I force myself, so it turns out)). So go for it! The main thing is, when buying, try the edge of the tape, if you can bend it with your fingers at least. It can be fat, then it may not work. I have a thickness of 0.55mm, and I would not say that it is too elastic.
