and I have not made friends with the screen yet. It didn't work with custom-made gingerbread. We must train at home

Great theme!
Before March 8, I looked after my forms

I came to the store - but they are not. I bought what is cheaper and created

I baked such a pack of cookies for 7 bouquets (I don't like gingerbread, so just shortbread cookies)

Selenia_Irisha, Ira , it turned out great, the forms came out so pretty, just like purchased ones. And how many gingerbreads! Is this 7 bouquets to order? And immediately a question - and skewers normally hold in shortbread cookies? Sandy - it's fragile. How do they behave already in a bouquet, do they not beat each other?
Selenia_Irisha
Tanya, mothers and grandmothers for a gift, for orders you still need to train)
I baked with cut skewers, while the hot biscuits took out and inserted clean ones. Pieces 5-10 had to be glued with icing, the cookies are fragile. While collecting bouquets, I also broke a couple.
For bouquets, I cut out rectangles from expanded polystyrene, made holes, inserted cookies and decorated with paper)
Mona1
Why did you cut off the skewers?
Selenia_Irisha
Tanya, in 20-30 minutes in the oven, they burn.
Mona1
And if you bake without skewers, but just took out the cookies - and immediately insert it? Or does it not work in sandy, already fragile?
Selenia_Irisha
Tanya, so the chances of breaking are doubled)
marikosha
Irina, I make it easier. I bake as usual, then I take it out, and while they are hot, I insert the skewers, and when they cool down I take them out so that they do not interfere with the painting. When the gingerbread cookies are painted and dry, I drip icing into the hole and stick in the sticks. And they dry well there and hold, and no hassle when baking.
Mona1
marikosha, Marine, Ira just doesn't have honey cakes, but shortbread cookies, they are fragile, maybe her method is more suitable for such a dough
marikosha
Tanya, Maybe. But you can also try, suddenly it works!
Mona1
Marina, I, by the way, the way you do, this way.
Selenia_Irisha
Marina, I have broken almost all the sticks in which I inserted this way. Even hot it is fragile
Mona1
I found a font in the internet, like in the cartoon "Just you wait" when the credits are written.

MK for the manufacture of boards for a printed gingerbread
mamo4ka
The other day I was told a huge secret and I will share it with you. Believe it or not, everything is ingeniously simple, you just have to rummage through the garages and sheds (or other bins) of the male half of humanity and find the old picture tube from the TV, bang it and meters like that I don't even know how many tape for molds you are provided with. I was again presented with a roll of tape and * for such a small company there is such a huge secret *
m0use
And I here recently gave my parents a hint about the forms - it turned out they have a whole sheet of tin for cans, here the fick knows where, my dad cut the ribbons with scissors, the edges with sandpaper passed, now I also have a huge skein of tin for gingerbread, do cutting down mastics!
And so that the skewers do not burn in the cookies, you need to soak them for 10 minutes in water, and insert them wet, then they just dry out in the oven and that's it. For kebabs, that's what they do
Elya_lug
m0use, I do not soak the skewers, even if I bake gingerbread with them, then in 10-20 minutes at 160-200 degrees absolutely nothing happens to them. And empirically I came to the conclusion that it is easier to bake gingerbread cookies and immediately insert skewers into hot ones.
mamo4ka, need to search!
Mona1
And I bought a punched tape the other day, galvanized, 0.5 mm thick, width - like 2 cm, and the length of the skein is as much as 25 m.So finally there will be pretty molds, and you can make any size, otherwise I have all cans give out some small forms.

I don’t soak either, but I bake with skewers, and in 10-15 minutes nothing happens to them. This is for those who bake long cookies.

magnoliya
Hello girls, I'm a newbie here, thank you very much, I emphasized a lot here for myself. only the question is probably off topic, but I have an emergency. I do not know what to do. I was ordered gingerbread, I started the dough as always, but it let me down after baking the gingerbread the next day, they cracked and, accordingly, when you start working with them, they break. who has been doing this for a long time, please give me a proven recipe that will not fail. thank you very much in advance.
Mona1
magnoliya, Nastya, well, here's Lerochka Sahara, many people make and praise our recipe
https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/index.php@option=com_smf&topic=441436.0
And you write that you started the dough, as always ... That is, you have already baked gingerbread and everything was fine with the dough? If this is so, then maybe they took another flour this time, or maybe they forgot to put eggs or butter, so it cracked. This may be the reason, but the recipe was good. You can ask about the reasons in this Temko, otherwise few people come here, they mostly hang out there

Tanya, I am interested in gingerbread when there are a lot of details, for example with Rybak, where there are faces, hands, and so on. Is that how you draw from the screen or with a needle?
Mona1
Vera, I have not yet done a fisherman after buying a screen, I made this teacher here, I used a screen. The size of the gingerbread is 15.5 * 12 cm, and the teacher herself is not for the whole gingerbread, she did not measure its size.))
Homemade gingerbread cutters. Templates and stencils
And I circle all the lines that I can't draw for myself with a small screen. Or where accuracy is very necessary, there I scratch with a needle in the old fashioned way. For example, in a gingerbread with a bicycle I drew everything without a screen, because many subtle details, for example, a pole for a lantern, I drew it under a ruler with a needle, and the wheels of a large one - I put a picture circle and scratched around, but I drew small details to the wheels, looking at the drawing. But the box, which is round, with a cutwork napkin - there I wanted to completely translate the picture with a screen, but the drawing is completely up to the edges of the gingerbread, and my gingerbreads are convex, I draw on the upper side. And in the park, centimeters from the edge, where the gingerbread begins to bend, the image did not match the surface. I circled the area that was closer to the screen, and the far part - the image was somehow lost. I decided that the pattern was symmetrical and just turned the gingerbread 180 degrees so that now I can draw the far part, the reflection did not quite coincide with the already drawn area. Either the picture was asymmetrical, or the distortion during copying due to the bulge, in general, somehow I found a more or less normal angle, and circled where with the screen, and where, so that the joints coincide, already manually.

ledi
Naturally you outline the desired color, the book in red, the jacket in blue? I just got used to doing without a contour. if a drawing is drawn with a pencil on the fill, then I immediately fill it in and I do not draw a contour with icing, and now I do not even know how to deal with the screen.
Mona1
Vera, no, the book was also circled in blue in the same place the book borders on a blue jacket, so you can blue and red. I hardly draw anything on the fill, so I will not say how, especially if you don’t do the contours on it, I have never tried that. I would then draw the contours with a pencil using the screen, then fill in as usual. here the principle is simply important - transferring the drawing - if you want with icing, if you want - with a pencil, if you want - over a gingerbread without filling with a needle. The lines are, most importantly, visible.True, the farther from the screen, the less clear, so the gingerbread is large, more than 18-20 cm wide is unlikely to work, although I have not tried it yet.
ledi
Thank you! I practiced a little, everything seems to be clear. How are you with the lighting? I put the lamp on the left side of the screen. Right?
Mona1
Well, yes, I just don't have a lamp, but the light from the window to the left. And somehow I did it in the evening, the lamp was above the screen and a little to the left, but I didn’t try to have the light on the right, maybe it will be seen that way

Girls, I found several MK on a box of thick paper-cardboard in the shape of a cockerel. In principle, it is not difficult, but there is not enough time already, it would be cool to offer gingerbread in such.
🔗
But simpler, origami in the shape of a cock, there is also a video of MK. Simpler - by components. A sheet of paper and that's it, but to fold this, of course, is not easier. )) By the way, there is a small box - origami comes out, folds out of a 15 * 15 sheet, but you can take a larger size.

And here's the box, scroll down the page

In real life, it is brighter. the main material is embossed wallpaper, I bought four rolls of different colors on the market, and then my mother gave me the remnants of the repair. ))) So now I have enough for 10 years. Of course, in such a package, the gingerbread cookies will lie in their bags. Of course, it took a long time to do, to cut a lot of different things, and there are a lot of misunderstandings - how to do, where to make allowances for seams and how to generally perish and how to keep it at this moment - so as not to turn around, in general, it is difficult the first time, then already, I think it will be easier. Now I will do different things for different occasions and holidays. This, by the way, is a good activity for the summer, when there are no orders, you can make blanks without gluing at the seams, and then when you need to take it out, bent it, glue it. But a fascinating and nerve-calming activity. We also need to buy a few hole punches, such that little flowers are cut out, and of all kinds of other equipment for scrapbooking, all kinds of beads, rhinestones, braids.

Mona1, Tanyusha, the box is awesome! Well done, you did!
Mona1
alla, LeraThank you, only flimsy, it's still not cardboard, but paper, albeit thick. But for 2-3 medium gingerbread it's ok, I think.
Sahara
Tanyusha, it is understandable, such a box is designed to wrap a gift, and not the type of a bag or string bag.
Mona1
Well, I also brought boxes, too - from the wallpaper. The other day I want to make a couple of different types.

Irina Fina
Tanya, you are a fine fellow, what such cool boxes have made, this is what an artisan means - a craftswoman for all the pens
Sahara
Mona1, Tanyusha, you are our artisan Marya
I especially liked the last boxes, they turned out so stylish! In these you can give for any occasion.
I think, if we had made a plastic window in front, in general, a gorgeous packaging for gingerbread would have turned out, only gingerbread still need to be packed in individual bags.Such a box can be made both square with a window in the shape of a heart and for Valentine's Day, and on March 8 with a window in the form of an eight ... in general, a flight of fantasies Oh, it was 48 hours in a day
Mona1
Irina Fina, Irochka, yes it seems so - which is difficult, but actually simple, there is a template. Cut and glue. I glue it with a glue gun (glue sticks into which they are inserted). Dries instantly (2-3 sec).
Lerochka, yes it is possible with a window, but I still have a bunch of different boxes, and with windows too. It's just that these bags are for a couple of gingerbread cookies, but there is a lot of fiddling with the window, the box is more expensive. I will put the window on boxes with a larger capacity. I have already collected several dozen different boxes from Google and collected their templates. Inside, the gingerbread cookies, of course, are not naked, but lie in their bags.
marina-asti
Girls, please tell me how much you personally would be in demand for plastic molds / cutters for gingerbread. And do you use the "form to order" service. For example, your company asks for a corporate gift - gingerbread with its logo. Are you doing this?
And how much do you think is acceptable for the forms?

Honestly, I have an idea to start printing custom forms while I am doing marketing.

m0use
marina-asti, now many shops selling inventory for pastry chefs print forms for gingerbread on a 3D printer, any to order. I know one where the form is printed right in front of you, it costs from 150 rubles, well, it depends on the size, of course ... a little expensive, but for unique forms you can go broke sometimes))))) It's a good thing.
marina-asti
Ksyusha, from 150 is it simple? Just an outline? Or voluminous?

For example:
120 rbl
Homemade gingerbread cutters. Templates and stencils

240 rbl
Homemade gingerbread cutters. Templates and stencils

350 rbl
Homemade gingerbread cutters. Templates and stencils

Expensive? fine?
Mona1
Marina, if they ask for a gingerbread - a gift, in a single copy, or this is the only order for the future for this gingerbread, then there is no point in such a one-time form. It's easier to cut a template out of cardboard and circle it. But for often ordered molds are needed. And if a person himself, like me, for example, cannot or does not know how or does not want to tinker with their manufacture, then he would order one. For example, my company constantly orders small gingerbread cookies in the form of their logo, 100 pieces a couple of times a month. And in this case, it is impossible to circle so much on the cardboard. I (or rather, my husband) made a mold, and if I didn't, then I ordered it somewhere.

Added on Monday 31 Oct 2016 03:46 PM

marina-asti, the point is another thing. Such volumetric forms are practically unsuitable for honey cakes, because the dough changes its shape when it rises and the printed pattern is almost invisible, or it is vague. Moreover, the gingerbread is then mainly covered with sugar glaze, so what is the point in patterns on the surface? this is just for some cookie with little or no baking soda.
m0use
marina-asti, simple, like the one above. I also say that it is a little expensive ... standard molds can be bought from 80 rubles, but for 150, well, they do it with you, instantly and any whim))
And voluminous ... I will not even say how much they have.
And I also twist simple forms myself, I have thin tin in ribbons and round-nose pliers, I print the picture and go.
marina-asti
Mona1, m0use, thank you for your opinions and thoughts!
Sveta_yanka
Girls, hello !!! Please tell me, a beginner ... I'm interested in letters and numbers. I looked and ran through the whole topic, saw the letters from Mona ... Tell me, do I understand correctly that it is not necessary to make metal notches for letters and numbers - you can cut it out of cardboard, and then circle it right on the test? THANK YOU!!!
Mona1
Sveta_yanka, yes, and not just letters. I make almost all gingerbread like this. on a computer I edit the card to the desired size, print it in a printer, cut it out, then I circle it out on cardboard. And then I put it on the rolled dough and cut it out (with a thin knife at the end, called a tomato). But if the dough is sticky, then the cardboard can stick during the cutting process. here, either rub it with your hand in vegetable oil, or sprinkle it with flour, and do not press hard on the dough when cutting. And what kind of cardboard will come across. One bothers strongly, the other does not. I mostly cut out boxes of candy either from boxes from baby food or from cereals or from tights. In general, from everything that is cut with scissors. BUT - I noticed that the front side, which is smoother and more glossy, sticks to the dough much more, so I put cardboard on the wrong side of it. I used to cut them out of juice boxes, they are foil-coated from the inside, and it is easy to wash them afterwards, they will not become limp. stick less (I applied foil to the dough). In general, you need to get used to your dough and your cardboard boxes. But using homemade cardboard templates saves money in your wallet and shelf space (which would be occupied by mountains of different clearings). Fellings are also available, but for a frequently ordered one. The wildebeest itself is mainly made of galvanized metal tape 0.5 mm thick. And it's still a bit difficult, I had to look for 0.3. I also bought a perforated one, it was not solid. This is a kapets, it is where the holes are, it goes straight in kinks, it is unrealistic to do something finely serrated. I will look for the whole now. In the meantime, I'm going with courage, tomorrow I want to make a cockerel from a ribbon and an angel.
