Hare? With eggs? More like a chicken. Or is it a dish for enemies, and there is a needle in the egg?
It looks very appetizing and even somehow festive

I remembered where I first saw this recipe!

The book "Baby food", 1956 - she adored this book as a child, then the eldest son grew up with it.

Hare? With eggs?
By the way, yes. It is interesting to know what the hare has to do with it?

In the 18th century, only the nobility could hunt for game and eat it, and ordinary people were content with fake hares and other fake moose. Why are the eggs inside? It is only the German peasants of the 18th century who can answer. It was so delicious for them. And the lead is really very tasty. Both warm and cold.

When I was little (70s), it was a festive dish in our family.)) In the wild steppes of Transbaikalia, it was difficult to get chicken for the holiday, but the minced meat was somehow going))
I don’t know where my mother’s recipe and name came from, I didn’t find such a thing in the Book about tasty and healthy food, nor did it in Housekeeping.
only they did not make it in uniform, but formed a loaf of minced meat on a baking sheet.

It's cool to use square eggs here, then evenly 4 pieces will enter.

Fotina, I have not seen it in Russian books either, but there are many German houses, and in each of them this hare.

The hare is already in the oven! Instead of a bun, she added semolina. Everything else is prescription!

The husband is delighted! He made me find, as they say, this dish in German (Falscher Haze), walks around and sings a simple song:
