Obaatzda (obatsda)

Ingredients

Camembert cheese 125 g
Oil sl. 50 g
Ground paprika 0.5 tsp
Caraway 0.5 tsp
Onion 0.5 pcs.
Pepper pinch
Salt pinch
Beer 1 tbsp. l.
Paprika, green onions, cumin for sprinkling

Cooking method

  • Obatsda is a German, or rather, Bavarian, beer snack. It became popular thanks to the owner of the Weihenstephaner Bräustüberl Katharina Eisenreich, who always served this beer snack to guests. Over time, this has become a good tradition in Bavaria.
  • Combine cheese, butter, beer, salt, pepper and paprika, mixing with a fork. If this is difficult, you can use a blender, but it is desirable that small pieces of cheese crust are felt. Now add the caraway seeds, finely chopped onion and mix again until smooth. Obatsda should be served with bretzels or bread, but I combined - I made salty caraway bread crumbs from rye bread in the form of bretzels :). In principle, a wonderful beer snack is already ready, it is usually served simply as a paste, but I wanted to give it a more attractive look, and I prepared it in the form of multi-colored balls on red onion rings.
  • Happy Oktoberfest!

So the whole beauty of the recipe is that one tablespoon is poured into the appetizer itself! Where do you think practical Germans pour the rest of the beer !? Guess three times !!!
And you do a sip ... !!!
