Vasyutka, Nataliya, tell me where does fireweed grow in the Volgograd region?

Added on Monday 23 May 2016 11:08 AM

Today I twisted some withered mint in a manual meat grinder. Good granules turned out. Now I'm dry, the smell is wonderful.

Natusichka
Mint, just dried and mint in granules through a meat grinder - this is a completely different taste! I really liked the mint minced!

So I don't like just dried mint. Now the granules will cool down and I will try to brew. While the smell is shocking.

Please tell me if it is possible to collect wet petals. We have a charge now or rain. I'm afraid the color will crumble.
Natusichka
Larissa, do not rush to brew immediately ... let them stand.

Lapulechka, not worth it! When dried, they will change color to an unpleasant one. And in general, you need to collect only dry raw materials - for tea, and for treatment, and for beauty!

Natusichka, . LarissaNatasha is right! It's too early. And this tea needs to ripen!

Mila1
businkairika, Ira, is that with a rosehip?
businkairika
New tea has been prepared today. Ingredients: wild grapes, strawberries, meadow geranium, bird cherry. Fermented tea made from leaves of garden and wild plants (master class) that's such a beautiful color and great taste. A couple of days in a bag and storage.

Added Monday 23 May 2016 10:00 PM

Mila1, no, it is without rose hips. I no longer have a rosehip. I made according to this recipe. For one part of pine buds, take 2 parts of water. The kidneys are boiled for about 20 minutes and set in a warm place for 2-3 hours. Then filter the infusion, squeeze out thoroughly and add 2 parts of sugar. The mixture is put on fire and, stirring constantly, bring to a boil. Ready honey is poured into glass jars. Store in a cellar or refrigerator

lappl1, Lyudochka, thanks to you I fell in love with a pine tree. And I boiled it, and dried it, and just made it with honey (grinded the shoots in a meat grinder and poured it with honey, did not cook it. Poured it into jars and into the refrigerator). I know that many people disapprove when honey is put in tea. But I really like it. Third tsp. into tea and enjoy the drink. Today I tried to put a pine-honey mixture in chicory, I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the drink. The taste of chicory and the pleasant freshness of the pine also intensified. And today I also dried a tea rose (while yellow is blooming, pink will bloom in a couple of days) and rose hips Fermented tea made from leaves of garden and wild plants (master class)

Lapulechka, Larissa, have you already bloomed mint? Were the leaves removed from the branches or twisted with the branches? I also go and look at the mint, but out of habit, I want to wait for flowering.

I removed the excess growth of raspberries, scored 1200g of leaves, well, I think, such goodness should not be lost, especially since it is necessary to remove a bush of grapes that you did not like, I took 1000g of grape leaves. I walked through the garden and picked up pears, cherries, cherries, apple trees with a kilogram of different leaves. Now doubts about grape leaves are gnawing, isn't there too many of them for country tea? Will I spoil all the tea with grape sourness? Maybe it's better to make more than half of the grapes mono? Girls, tell me, who knows!

Natusichka
Lily, I would not add a lot of grapes, because the sourness is still very bright.
I dried the grapes separately, and then added a little, it's better. It seems so to me. But there is no dispute about tastes ... who likes what!
filirina

There are grapes and grapes! I have about a third of grapes in my garden mix. There is no sourness at all! Somewhere there is last year's monovine, even wondering if there will be sourness in it? Tomorrow I will find and brew for a test! (hands have not yet reached him)
francevna
liliya808The lily probably depends on the grape variety. I have country teas with a ratio to grapes even in equal proportions. 50% a mixture of different leaves and 50% grape leaves (but I don't have one grape variety, but there are from 5 to 11 varieties at the same time).
There is no sour taste in this tea.
lappl1
businkairika, Ira, what wealth and beauty! Jam, tea, petals, shoots! So many things have been done! Congratulations! They say for sure - in the spring the day feeds the year!
I am very glad that you appreciated the pine! And what will it be in winter !!! Do not transfer! And how much use it is - for the season of colds and flu what you need!
Ira, thanks for such a report and a photo! Keep it up! I am sure that this tea season will be very successful for you!

liliya808
Natusichka, filirina, francevna, girls, thank you! I’ll be safe, add some grapes to the mix, and make the remaining grapes mono, and always have time to mix.
Of course, I have already learned that it is better to make tea from garden herbs at the time of fruit ripening, but you describe your tea handicrafts with such love that I simply could not help but join this sacrament and throw 2 kg of leaves into the compost.

liliya808, Lilywhat kind of compost? No need to compost! We did everything right - the leaves are in business!
Natusichka
And yesterday I went again to the place where we collect wild pear leaves (second attempt), but I did not see the fruit ... they left with nothing, decided to wait until the pear tree would be (my husband laughs that I said so). We arrived at the place, and I run around the pear and say: "Well, where? Where?" He who?" Me: "Pear ...". He started laughing !!!
But the cherry is already possible, it is already there, only green ... or wait until it ripens?

Cherry has already begun, it's also time to collect the leaves.
Vasyutka
Lapulechka, Larissa, I have not found Ivan-tea. Small-flowered fireweed grows on the Medveditsa River.
I grew one bush from seeds, and Natasha sent me ivan-tea rhizomes from Moscow last year. So I decided to grow it myself.
Lapulechka
liliya808, Lily mint has not bloomed yet. I looked at her like a weed, because just a dry leaf in tea gives me straw. I cut off the stems to branch better, cut off the leaves, dried them and through a meat grinder. I crumbled the hand one, falling asleep a few leaves. The result is large granules. I dried it in the oven at 40C with the door ajar. While there is a slight grassy smell, but I think it will pass after the final drying.

Vasyutka, Nataliya, thanks for the answer. As the water comes down I will look in the floodplain on flooded meadows. I think I saw there. If I don’t find it, I’ll look for seeds.

Natusichka, you have a cheerful husband! So I didn't understand, did you pick up the leaves, or were you just looking for pears?
And the cherry can already be done. You already have it good. I did it from the leaves, when the cherry is unripe, it turns out well. Especially, it is good to handle them - they are still soft leaves.

Nikusya
Thank you very much for such an interesting and useful topic!
I studied the information, prepared, now at the start: I will make tea from raspberry leaves. It’s a pity that I didn’t notice this topic before, there are a lot of leaves in the garden, raspberries are at least oblique, but here you can cook such deliciousness! I used to dry a raspberry leaf, but the taste of the tea turned out to be very mild, the aroma weathered out during drying, but with fermentation, I think everything should work out. I think, try to make two options: grind part and part into rolls in a meat grinder, then compare which one will turn out better. If someone else has done this, please share your results.
Elena Kadiewa
Nikusya, welcome to us, very happy!
Everybody did raspberries! Not all her fans, like cherries and ivanushki, but nevertheless do both mono and in mixes.
Granulated tea is stronger and brighter than leaf tea.
lappl1
Nikusya, very happy to have a new tea-making! Welcome to our friendly tea rows.
Yes, tea can be made from many things! Raspberries make good ones. I only recommend doing it according to the method of Zechariah. Here's a link The method of hardening tea leaves in preparation for fermentation (Zachary)... And it will turn out better in a meat grinder. Especially for the first time. Raspberries are very hard to roll. Therefore, I advise the method of Zechariah.
Radushka
Nikusya, I am a fan of raspberry tea! As for me, this is the only tea that is perfect in a mono version (well, I don’t have Ivan tea available!))). I made it in rolls and granulated. The granules are weak, there is a lot of dust fraction. When brewed, the granules disintegrate instantly. It doesn't affect the taste of the tea in any way! I like granulated tea more in all respects. Zachariah didn't make raspberries using the method. I'll try this season. Perhaps the pellets will become stronger.
In a simple mix of raspberry-apple and raspberry-pear, the granules are much stronger. Especially with a pear. I also want to make some raspberry leaf tea with raspberry berries. Not for myself (I don't like the bright "compote" taste), but there are lovers of that.
Try it, do different types, different options. As the local girls told me, when I first came to the topic, no one knows what kind of tea you and your "consumers" will like!
Happy tea!
Nikusya
Thank you very much, Elena, Lyudmila!

Okay, I went to read Zechariah's method, thanks for the tip!

Sweetheart, that's right! I just like to mix herbs and add a whisper of dried raspberries there, and someone may like mono-teas, especially since I will not drink alone, I treat many with my herbs. Thanks for your feedback!
Radushka
Nikusya, mono tea is good because it can be varied with different additives. I dry 5 types of mint, pine shoots, cucumber flowers, orange and lemon zest, make a mono cherry and add it when I want a cherry note. I also want the peel of Antonovka, but last season I could not buy it on the market. Nobody even "calls" other apples Antonovka anymore (otherwise I don't know her by sight!). And I don't have it yet, the tree is young.
lappl1
Radushka, I've been sharpening my teeth for a year already on your raspberry teas ... In the sense that the recipe needs a separate one, in different versions - leaf,: a-kiss: granulated .... Do it, please! Nobody has written so much about raspberries like you. Radushkadear, don’t refuse.
I know what you will answer now -

You don't have a fotik and so on ... so on ... so on ... And I will answer. Fotiki, at least on mobile, have many. Are the neighbors coming for the weekend? Ask them. Or I’ll take what you can, I’ll take a picture ... And I’ll send it to you in a personal message. And we will ask the devon ...
And don't say that there is a recipe, but raspberries are an option.
I do not agree!
How many bread recipes do we have using the same technology? And the composition is different, or what? Flour, water, salt, yeast, sugar, oil. But we are not asking why there are so many recipes. We know that there are nuances. So I want us to have the same.

You give more tea recipes - good and different!
Radushka
lappl1, Lyudochka, I will definitely do it! I still need to photograph everything for ... (I'll tell you later). There will be raspberry and, later, currant. BUT ... all of this is not now. Alas, this week is loaded with completely different things, not connected with tea in any way. On Saturday, the children will leave for a week, I will take tea closely. I will photograph everything. Well, and the recipe ... then you will need to consult what and how. I understand that it would be better to put it out as soon as possible, but I do not promise earlier than by the end of June. The berry will begin, and the collection will be on me. And to collect it, you yourself understand, is very difficult. Especially if the plantation is large and not close to the house (next to the house twice a day, playfully)
lappl1
Radushka, let me give you! My gold! We will wait! The main thing is that ... And the end of June is not too late. I collected raspberry leaves from under the snow. The tea was super!
So ripe, write, ask questions ... Thank you, Radushka!

A friend of mine liked my tea. I say - I'll do it for you on a "give and take" basis. That is ... she gives me leaves, and I give her tea. And I will take myself from each batch of tea, like, for work. She is, in principle, for. Asks - How many leaves do you need for one batch? I say - a kilogram and a half. This is a standard supermarket package. Well, and WITHOUT cuttings, of course.
Answers - Oh, how much! She's FINE !!!
Otherwise, I don’t know what kind of raspberry. This year I want to invite her with me to the forest blackberry. After her, raspberries will seem fluffy to her

And from what else astringency? Ivan's tea does not grow with me ((I really want to repeat approximately the taste of ordinary "store" green tea. So far I have just tried the mix in equal parts; plum, pear (wild), apple, cherry and strawberry. I like it, but I don't really.

If someone knows how to replace ordinary green tea, so that there is astringency and some similarity, please tell me, I really want to.

Twenty secondIt seemed to me very similar to green, mulberry tea. I made it using black technology and "hovered" in a multicooker. The guy looks even more like, as for me. I took a mulberry different from the usual one ... These are only growing along the routes, it is dumb to take leaves there. I went to the silk station in the fall. When the grena is already stopped feeding. I was allowed to pick as much as I want. Late varieties have not shed their leaves yet. Perhaps, with the usual, but at the time of ripening of berries, it will be even better. Mulberry tea seemed too "simple" for me
lappl1
