Very Breaded Cheese Balls (Air Fryer)

Very Breaded Cheese Balls (Air Fryer)

Ingredients

Gouda cheese (it can be different, it doesn't matter) 200 g
feta cheese 75 g
eggs 2 pcs
breading (crackers)
greens, garlic and other fillers - optional

Cooking method

  • Grate the cheeses on a fine grater. Divide the eggs into whites and yolks. Beat the whites into a strong foam (this is when the whipped whites do not flow out when the bowl is turned over and keep their shape). Pour 2 tablespoons of water into the yolks and shake. Gently mix the proteins into the grated cheese. If desired, you can add herbs (dill, cilantro, for example) or garlic, or finely chopped ham, or something else. Form balls from the cheese mass (formed with an ice cream spoon), dip them into the yolk, and then into breadcrumbs. Put in the freezer for 1 hour. Then repeat the breading of eggs and breadcrumbs 2 more times, removing the balls each time in the freezer for half an hour.
  • Fry the finished balls straight from the freezer quickly in deep fat until a pleasant golden crust. I fry in an air fryer at 180 degrees for 10 minutes. In deep fat it turns out rosy, in an airfryer it is a little more useful, but a crusty crust is obtained here and there.

The dish is designed for

15 pieces

Cooking program:

180 degrees

Note

It turns out a very, very cheesy taste, just the same rich - who loves cheese, like the hero of the cartoon Chip & Dale - that expanse. I know that many restaurants serve these balls with a variety of sauces.

Thank you!
In fact, my baking is also not covered in it, I mostly fry chicken parts in it and all sorts of cutlets and semi-finished products such as cordon blue, which I myself make and freeze in advance. But here - s-s-s-r - this is my love and I always ordered cheese balls if I came across somewhere in a public catering, but now I myself can depict something like that, which I am very happy about.

Anastasia, so I already ask in several topics while they are silent.
I have a question to do all this directly on the wire rack or in some container ???
And what is cardon blue

I don't use any container, I put it on the wire rack. Previously, I had to warm it up a little so that nothing would stick to it, but now I have a Teflon mesh on the grate - now this is on sale - this is a good find - and you don't need to warm it up, you can immediately spread the food and nothing sticks.

Cordon Blue is a chicken fillet chop with a slice of ham and a slice of cheese wrapped in it. All this is breaded in egg and breadcrumbs. I make such blanks, freeze them, and then, as needed, take them out and put them in the air fryer. It's delicious.

I would be glad if the recipe comes in handy.

At the same time, maybe someone will correct it a little - I think that you can add a little flour or starch to the filling, otherwise the cheese tries to escape even through double breading sometimes ...

Cool!
This is certainly cool

But the cooler thing is that Anastasia (and she registered almost at the birth of the site) until today did not leave a message on the forum 4 years (without one month).

Thank you so much! Yes, everything happens in life, sometimes it changes dramatically. I really was registered almost at the birth of the site and even - was a moderator for a while. But then the time came to plunge completely into the family and four years were not in vain, the family grew quantitatively and qualitatively. And I again had time for hobbies and device addiction.

Anastasia, I am grateful to you for your favorite dish, cheese balls! I cooked in an ordinary deep fryer. Everything worked out great the first time!
