Pancakes "paper" (without eggs)

Category: Culinary recipes
Paper pancakes (no eggs)

Ingredients

Flour 160 g
Water 500 g
Salt 0.5 tsp
Sugar 2 tsp
Potato starch 1 tbsp. l. with a middle slide
Sunflower oil 2-3 st. l.
Optionally 2 tbsp. l. milk powder

Cooking method

  • Make batter from all the ingredients and bake thin pancakes. I made the dough with a whisk.

Note

Somehow there was no Teflon frying pan on the farm, and yesterday I bought a frying pan for pancakes at a share. Now the second day I am wise with lean pancakes.

Finally, it's perfect. Paper thin, transparent, elastic (NOT rubbery) and delicious.

To understand what the finest pancakes turned out, I specially put a not very ruddy part of the pancake on a jar of sour cream (although I took a photo with my phone, and held the jar with my other hand, so I didn't sharpen it):

And here's another one with even less sharpness, it seems:

Bon Appetit !

thanks for reminding
Tanya, do we have just such a recipe for pancakes? This one I myself came up with empirically. Basically, all pancakes consist of plus or minus similar ingredients, it's all about the details and proportions, which significantly affect the result.

There are no such on the site for sure, but in the post I do without eggs, and usually everything by eye, now I will try with your proportions

Wow! Qween, impressive! Are they strong, or tender, easily torn? Are they suitable for rolls? In general, such a "our answer to their rice paper"

Diana, the pancakes are exactly strong, elastic, do not break at the folds when folded, and at the same time are soft to bite. When I fried them, they turned over perfectly, did not stick, did not break.

Today the pancakes that I fried yesterday have retained their pleasant properties.

For rolls and fillings, these crepes are great.

I never really succeeded without eggs.
I'll try this recipe, thanks

Anh, thanks again! I like it when there is little dough, but this "little" should be tasty ... and here it is also practical!

Qween, forgive me that no photo! But for the third day I do not leave the house. I'm lazy. I have little flour, no eggs, milk left on the bottom, and other things, not a lot. But then I cleared the debris in the freezer, found some kind of prehistoric bag of beef, which says "for broth." And instantly I remembered that I have your pancakes in my bookmarks. I baked and boiled the broth from that beef, which turned out to be quite a lot to make the fillings. Thanks a lot for this recipe! It turned out delicious (I tucked one unpaired one on the sly), and tomorrow I have something to take to work for lunch.

Only a little less (50 ml) water was poured than in the recipe, but I think it depends on the flour how much to pour.

strange .. and how did I go past this?
