Ingredients

Granny Smith apples (large) 4 things
Chicken egg 2 pcs.
Flour 100 g
Butter at room temperature 100 g
Sugar 80 gr.
Baking powder 1/2 tsp
Orange confiture 1 tbsp. l.
Mandarin Syrup:
Fresh squeezed tangerine juice 300 ml
Sugar 150 gr.
Lemon juice 30 ml
For jelly:
Apple juice without pulp 500 ml
Tangerine syrup (the one that remained after boiling apples!) 50 ml
Gelatin (in my plates) 10 gr.
Detachable mold 20 cm in diameter

Cooking method

  • To say that it is delicious is to say nothing! How long ago I looked at this pie, but ... I could not buy passionfruit, yes, yes, it was passionfruit, not tangerines, that go into syrup in Yulia's original recipe. And it's not that there was no exotic exotic in Athens, there is, of course, but it had to be looked for and I thought, but how will our people cook? Of course, this is not a problem for the capital and large cities, but the province ... and I decided to try my own squeezed tangerine juice, maybe not passion fruit, but still a fragrant, beautiful color, and I added a lemon. I took a chance and ... In general, I am happy with the result, and how happy are mine! So my advice to you is - be sure to try the amber Chakkata and I'm sure this cake will not disappoint you!
  • 1. Peel and cut the apples into medium slices.
  • Mandarin Syrup:
  • Squeeze the juice out of the tangerines and strain it through a sieve.

  • 2. Put the juice in a saucepan, add strained lemon juice and sugar, heat to a boil, let it simmer and over low heat, in small portions, boil apple slices in it until transparent.

  • 3. Place the apple slices in a colander.

  • 4. Dough:
  • Beat butter with sugar until white. without ceasing to beat, introduce eggs one at a time.
  • Add flour mixed with baking powder and mix gently.

  • 5. Place the dough in a mold, cover the bottom with baking paper, and grease the sides with odorless vegetable oil. Place 1/4 of the apples on top and press them well into the dough (I pressed them lightly, do not repeat my mistake!) Bake in the oven preheated to 180 "C for 15-20 minutes. Focus on your oven!

  • 6. Cool the finished pie and grease with orange confiture. Overlap with the rest of the apples.

  • Soak the gelatin in a little cold water.
  • Measure out apple juice.

  • 8. Mix apple juice with tangerine syrup and heat well, but do not boil!
  • Squeeze out the swollen gelatin and dissolve it in apple juice. Cool to room temperature.

  • 9. Pour 5-6 tablespoons of jelly over the top of the pie and refrigerate, let harden.
  • Pour out the remaining jelly and refrigerate. Let it harden well for 4 hours, my cake stood in the refrigerator all night.
  • Wrap the dish with a towel dipped in boiling water.

  • P. S. Try to keep the sides of the baking pan snug against the cake to keep the jelly from flowing out. I use a universal split ring, with which I can easily adjust the volume I need, a sheet of foil serves as the bottom of me, with which I tightly wrap the ring.
