Cooking method

  • Once, when I was still a teenager, my mom made this cake for my DR. He was one of our family's favorites! Why was it? And now he is eating on both cheeks!
  • Beat eggs until stiff foam:

  • Gradually add sifted flour mixed with baking soda into the dough.
  • Add finely chopped nuts. The mass turns out to be quite thick:

  • Divide the dough into 3 parts and put it into molds Ø 20 cm, lined with baking paper, distribute it evenly:

  • We bake over medium heat for 20-30 minutes, checking the readiness with a wooden torch.
  • I baked with a single cake, then after cooling down, I cut it into three. But I liked it less, because this "monolith" did not want to bake for a very long time.

  • Beat butter with a mixer until white:

  • In another bowl, beat the sour cream thoroughly, add the icing sugar and beat until ripple:

  • Without stopping whipping, gradually add whipped butter, vanillin, then brandy, and finally chopped nuts:

  • Impregnation:
  • Dissolve sugar in warm milk, add a spoonful of sour cream or cream and stir until smooth, then pour in cognac and soak the cakes as you are used to. I impregnate from a spray bottle with an adjustable spray head.
  • Assembling the cake:
  • Soak the cakes. Collect the cake alternating: cake - cream. Further alignment and decoration according to your taste and occasion.
  • Do not rush to cut the cake - let it soak properly!

* The original recipe was for 6 eggs. I put out the recipe, reduced by half, because I needed a mini-Kutuzov!
In my mother's notebook it was written that the cake can be collected with another cream - butter, boiled condensed milk and brandy !!! This cake is a must !!! We often prepared a cake with boiled condensed milk cream. It turns out really delicious !!!
