(with crab sticks and pickled mushrooms)

Pine Forest Salad

Ingredients

Medium boiled potatoes 5 pieces.
Large onion 1 PC.
Crab sticks 300 g
Boiled eggs 5 pieces.
Marinated mushrooms
Greens - parsley and dill

Cooking method

  • Finely chop the onion, pickle - sugar, salt, vinegar and curry (do not regret curry, the main thing is that it is not spicy!), For 30-60 minutes.
  • Put the food on a plate in the order shown below, covering each layer with a thin mesh of mayonnaise. To do this, I take mayonnaise in soft packages, cut off one corner a little and squeeze it out like from a cornet.
  • Layer order:
  • 1- boiled potatoes (diced or grated)
  • 2- bow
  • 3- crab sticks, finely chopped
  • 4- finely chopped eggs
  • 5- mushrooms (if large - cut)
  • 6- thick layer, finely chopped greens.
  •  (with crab sticks and pickled mushrooms)

Note

Put whole mushrooms on top of the salad. At the moment when I was taking pictures I completely forgot about it and put all the mushrooms in the middle.

Thanks to the curry, the salad has become a hit in our house for three years now. When I invite guests, they are primarily interested in whether there will be a salad with curry. I know that there is a variant of such a salad, where chicken meat is taken instead of crab sticks, but my household does not want to hear about it.

The number of mushrooms I have is determined by the capabilities. If there is a possibility, then so that a thick layer would turn out. Well, if there is a crisis, less is possible. I tried to do it with pickled porcini mushrooms, champignons and honey agarics. Of the three options, all are acceptable, but least of all I liked with mushrooms.

And I, since I tried your salad, next time I will add more curry. I was greedy, although it was felt and clearly changed the taste of the salad.

the day before yesterday I prepared this salad. To be honest, I did not understand the taste of this salad ... and I did not understand it precisely because of the onion. It seems that the combination of products is quite "familiar" and interesting, but pickled onions "took over" the taste of the salad, that is, apart from vinegar and curry, nothing was felt.
So I report: I took an assortment of mushrooms. The onions were marinated in 9% vinegar diluted 1: 3 in hot water + curry for exactly one hour, maybe even 55 minutes, because I was making a salad late in the evening.
I layered it with mayonnaise well, but after several attempts to "taste" the salad, I decided to add more mayonnaise - the taste softened a little ...In short, I will try to make this salad again, only now I will try to pickle the onions without vinegar. but simply in boiling water, but with curry
 (with crab sticks and pickled mushrooms)
