Biscotti for babies for Christmas

Ingredients

chicken yolk (in case of allergy, replace with quail yolk or egg) 3-4 pcs.
sugar 1 tbsp. l. (or without it at all)
flour 150 g (may go a little more or less)
baking powder on the tip of a knife

Cooking method

  • Biscotti are traditional Italian biscuits baked at Christmas. Biscotti is translated as “baked twice” (bi - two and scottare - oven).
  • Celebration, lights, bright colors, many delicious dishes on the table. And if someone in the family has babies 8-12 months old, they, little researchers, will try to taste everything. I think any mother will be pleased to provide the kids with the opportunity to sharpen their teeth tasty and harmlessly - to treat them with homemade, truly festive, cookies.
  • 1. Beat the yolks with sugar (or without it) until they are white.
  • 2. Add flour mixed with baking powder. Knead a thick, elastic dough.
  • 3. Form a bar from the dough on a table dusty with flour. I got a bar about the length and width of my palm, about 2 cm high.
  • 4. Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 30 minutes at 150 degrees Celsius. Cookies should be baked but not fried.
  • 5. Cool the loaf on a wire rack to ventilate all sides, about 10 minutes.
  • 6. Cut the loaf crosswise into 1cm thick slices. I used a bread knife as the cookies can crumble.
  • 7. Place the wedges on a baking sheet. Dry at 130 degrees Celsius for 30-40 minutes.
  • 8. Cool the finished biscotti on a wire rack.

The dish is designed for

8 pieces

Time for preparing:

80 minutes

Note

The cookie is firm enough not to be afraid that it will break in the hands of the child. But it is tiny enough so that the baby can scrape it with teeth and bite off small pieces.

Joy , you have wonderful cookies !!! The only thing, as the mother of the baby, wanted to clarify that the yolk can be given to children from 7 months (1 \ 4 h. L.) And its volume by the year should be 1 \ 2 pcs. and no more than 2 times a week. And of course, a prerequisite is the absence of allergies !!!

Thanks for the comments and clarification. They are correct. You are a responsible mom and that's good. I also adhere to book rules, I started giving cookies (of my own preparation) at all at 9 months.
I wrote - from 6 months, because I know a lot of mothers who have artificial children or those mothers who buy in the store "Maria" or "Napoleon", in which 8 pieces of E-supplements are given to children from six months. In any case, homemade, in my opinion, is better than the store.
On the other hand, how much yolk can go into 1 cookie? The yield is 8-9 pieces of 4 yolks. That is, for 1 cookie 0.5 yolk, the norm is not exceeded. You can not add the yolk to other dishes.
My baby, for example, does not eat 1 cookie a day, half a cookie a day most often.

Perhaps I should make some changes to the recipe in order to minimize controversial points.

Babies will be delighted! And parents, too, will look at their little ones with affection as they zealously eat biscotti!
