Salad with green tomatoes and mayonnaise

Ingredients

green tomatoes 3kg
onion 1 kg
carrot 1 kg
Bulgarian pepper 1 kg
garlic 1head
tomato sauce 250gram
mayonnaise 250 grams
salt 2 tbsp. l.
vegetable oil 1 glass
bitter pepper 2-3 pcs
acetic acid 2 tsp
sugar 1 glass

Cooking method

  • The recipe is not mine, taken from a wonderful magazine, the one that ... for an encore, from Natalia Ivanova, thank you very much for it.
  • Cut the onion into rings.
  • Pepper - straws.
  • Grate carrots.
  • Saute vegetables separately in vegetable oil.
  • Chop the tomatoes, mix with vegetables, season with mayonnaise, salt, sugar, add hot pepper.
  • Cook for 10 minutes, add tomato sauce, cook for 1 hour.
  • At the end of cooking, add chopped garlic and acetic acid.
  • Arrange in sterilized jars, wrap until cool.
  • I did not find tomato sauce, so I diluted a large tablespoon with a slide of tomato paste with water. The tomatoes were not quite green, they had time to ripen a bit.
  • Delicious. In general, I spun a lot of all kinds of sweets from green tomatoes this year. Enjoy your meal.

everything is harmful if there are tons. Dr. Agapkin said. everything should be in moderation. Solanaceae are not only harmful in large quantities, but red ones too, for people with arthritis. so, the measure should be in everything ...

Despite the fact that tomato today is a completely familiar food product that can be prepared in a wide variety of ways, from time to time rumors about the harm of tomatoes slip through. Some say that they should not be eaten in case of stomach diseases, others argue that it is better to avoid eating these fruits altogether, as they contain certain harmful substances. And once, when tomatoes were just brought to Europe from South America, they were grown only as an ornamental plant, as they were considered poisonous and insane. So are tomatoes really bad?

Despite the fact that many consider them to be vegetables, tomatoes are actually berries. They contain many useful substances such as potassium, iodine, magnesium, phosphorus and others; vitamins, mineral salts, glucose and fructose, as well as other elements, without which the normal life of the body is impossible. With the regular use of tomatoes, the hematopoietic function improves, the risk of cancer, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract is significantly reduced. This product is recommended for people suffering from nervous system disorders and depression. The only thing that tomatoes are harmful is the ability to cause allergic reactions, so it is better for allergy sufferers to refrain from eating them.

In addition, it is better to minimize the consumption of this product for people suffering from arthritis, since the oxalic acid contained in tomatoes negatively affects the water-salt metabolism in the body. But this does not mean that everyone who has this disease, as well as those who are prone to indigestion, should not be consumed at all. You can mix tomato juice with other juices and drink it in low concentration. Thus, if we consider all the facts, what are the benefits and harms of tomatoes, we can conclude that for most people, the use of these fruits will only benefit.

But the answer to the question whether green tomatoes are harmful is rather positive. Young tomatoes contain a substance such as solanine, which is poisonous and leads to severe poisoning. But even they can be consumed after a certain treatment, for example, in a salted form, since the poison from the tomatoes goes into the brine. In brown and brown tomatoes, the solanine content is already at a minimum level, so they can be eaten without fear.
