Dancing Santa Barbara

Ingredients

Flour 0.5KG
Sugar 200 g
Margarine 250 g
Baking powder 1 pack (I put 2.5 tsp.)
Sour cream 3-4 tbsp. l.
Eggs 5 pcs. + 1 for filling
Apples 9 pcs.
Poppy 1 tbsp. (200 ml)
Raisins
Cherry jelly 1 pack (90 g)
Walnuts

Cooking method

  • Knead flour, sugar, margarine, sour cream, baking powder and 5 yolks.
  • Divide the dough into 2 parts (make one part smaller, add cocoa to it, knead and put in the freezer)
  • Spread the large white part of the dough into a deep rectangular baking sheet, sprinkle with semolina on top.
  • Poppy filling
  • Pour boiling water over 1 glass of poppy seeds, cover, stand until the water cools down, strain, grind. Add 1 egg, sugar to taste, raisins.
  • Apples (it is better to take dense ones) peel, cut in half, select the middle and fill with poppy seeds.
  • Put the apples on the dough, poppy side down.
  • Beat 5 whites with 2 tbsp. l. frothed sugar, add a pack of cherry jelly. Pour this mixture over the apples.
  • Sprinkle with chopped nuts on top.
  • Remove the dough with cocoa from the freezer and grate on a coarse grater on top of the nuts.
  • Bake.
