The recipe from the TV show "Cooking Tim Malzer" with my changes.

Creamy potatoes

Serves 4

600 gr potatoes
150 grams of bacon (sausages, boiled or fried meat)
100 gr onion
125 ml broth or water
200 ml cream (liquid, drinking)
100 ml milk
4 bay leaves
4 table. tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 table. a spoonful of dry parsley or a small bunch of fresh
a piece (the size of a matchbox) of hard cheese
salt, pepper, grated nutmeg

Cut the potatoes very thinly (if the tubers are large, cut them in half beforehand).
Cut the onion into small cubes and simmer in vegetable oil until soft and transparent. Add bay leaves. Pour in broth or water, bring to a boil, add prepared potatoes, cream, milk, season. Cook without a lid over low heat until the potatoes are cooked, stirring occasionally. The liquid should be almost completely absorbed into the potatoes. Add diced meat products, parsley, finely chopped cheese 5 minutes until tender.
Put the pan with potatoes in the oven under the grill and bake until golden brown (about 10 minutes).
Since my pan is not suitable for the oven, I put the finished potatoes in two ceramic baking dishes.

Yes, it is tasty. I cook almost like that, only without bacon and onions. This kind of potato loves thyme, I always add.
