I have TEFAL, they bought 6 years ago, power 1280-1525, model 1520, SUPERGLISS coating, steam 30, without any bells and whistles, steam power is regulated.

I'm happy with the iron, there is enough steam, the coating (mmm) is safe and sound, I have enough for household needs. I use dist. water, although the instructions say tap. I don't often clean the steam holes after the distillate. Was not renovated (mmm).

I have 3 years Philips Azur Steam iron GC4610. Dvolna. Only our water is very hard over time, it calcifies and the sprinkler becomes clogged. But it has a steam self-cleaning function. So it can be solved. Long cord (on such a hinge) which is also important for me personally. And non-stick outsole. Good for ironing natural cotton and linen fabrics thanks to the steam boost.

It is very good if the iron comes with a nozzle called TEXTILPROTECTOR. This is a removable sole that does not heat up to high temperatures and allows you to iron delicate fabrics with steam. I had a Brown iron, and I liked it.

I use vertical steaming mainly when the curtains need to be steamed. But I think that if the main function of interest is vertical steaming, then it is necessary to take an iron with this dominant function. It is certainly possible to "iron" something, but of course you will not achieve perfect smoothing as on a horizontal hard surface.
