Ingredients

eggs 8 pcs
Black tea 1 tbsp. spoons
salt 1 tsp

Cooking method

  • The Chinese use black tea to make marble eggs, an unusual and easy to prepare snack.
  • Place the eggs in a large saucepan, add 2 liters of water, bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove the eggs and place them in a container of cold water. Do not drain the water in which the eggs were boiled. When the eggs have cooled, remove them from the water and tap the back of a spoon on each egg until it is covered with a net of cracks. Place the eggs back in the pot of water, add tea, soy sauce and salt, bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes. Then remove from heat and let the eggs cool in the broth. By the way, while cooking this dish, the smell throughout the house is simply amazing! Remove the eggs from the cold broth and gently peel off the cracked shells. Each egg will have an elegant, spider-like pattern that resembles weathered marble or porcelain.

When I saw a photo of marble eggs, I lit up: I must do it. Did ... what can I say? delicious, but not ah. Or tea should be the kind that we do not have for real money.
Cook for breakfast? I get up at 5 am: dog, shower, breakfast ..., at 7 am already at work. In short, not to marble eggs and tea ceremonies. And if I had a lot of morning time, I’m unlikely to spend so much time again cooking eggs. Although I do not regret at all that I once cooked a beautiful dish with a beautiful name Marble eggs

I had an idea somewhere to open a topic about beautiful, but useless dishes. But then I decided that my opinion cannot decide how useful or useless a dish is. Maybe someone won't even think of the morning in the morning without these, in this case, eggs

I made marble pickled eggs and loved it.
In my recipe, the marinade consisted of: balsamic vinegar - 2 tbsp. l,
soy sauce - 2 tbsp. l.,
sugar. 1 tsp.,
cinnamon - 1 tsp,
star anise - 3 stars,
cloves - 3 pcs.
and black tea - 5 tbsp. l.
