Cooking method

  • Cooking cabbage soup is a pleasure. Because it's very simple. While the meat broth is slowly boiling, you need to soak the mushrooms for a short time (ideally - white, but where can you get them this year?). Therefore, for the scent, I literally have 2 grams of whites and a handful of butter. After 15-20 minutes, the mushrooms must be boiled for 5-7 minutes.
  • Finely chop a good onion head, lightly fry in a frying pan in vegetable oil, add sauerkraut there and continue to simmer the whole thing in a frying pan. If there are no or not enough carrots in the cabbage, then add the grated carrots, after a couple of minutes add broth from the pan, boiled mushrooms, peppercorns, bay leaves and cover with a lid - let it simmer until the cabbage is almost ready. Do not forget to stir occasionally.
  • Peel not large potatoes and put whole in boiling broth. When the potatoes are completely cooked, put all the contents of the pan into a saucepan, salt and pepper, turn off when it boils. The cabbage soup is ready.
  • If the cabbage is very sour, you can add sugar when frying. The main thing is not to overdo it. We do not cook compote. The cabbage soup should still be sour.
  • Cabbage soup is good with mushrooms alone, especially in fasting.
