Ingredients

Cabbage 200-300 gr.
Pumpkin 200 gr.
Potatoes (large) 2 pcs.
Millet 3 tbsp. l
Carrots (large) 1 PC.
Onions (medium) 2-3 pcs.

Minced meat (any) 300 gr.
(I have pork and beef)

Cooking method

  • Bring 2 liters of water to a boil, add chopped cabbage. After about 10 minutes, add washed and scalded millet. Cook until half cooked. Then add the diced potatoes and pumpkin (I have pumpkin from the freezer, it cooks quickly, so I added it along with the meatballs)... Meanwhile, fry the onions and carrots.
  • Add finely chopped onion, salt and pepper to the minced meat. Form the meatballs. When the potatoes are boiled, add the meatballs. When the meatballs are ready, add the frying to the soup. Bring to a boil, season with salt and pepper, add bay leaf. Cover and let it brew

Elena, very interesting cabbage soup!
Will definitely cook for a change!
Thank you!

Lena, what do you think, if millet is replaced with rice, the taste will change greatly?
And the family doesn't like millet at all.

To your health, namesake! to me "on you"
I think that you can replace rice. Here millet is not felt at all, it will boil down and cannot be seen, you can still try to replace it with corn grits

you can also try to replace it with corn grits

Oh, exactly!
Thanks for the great idea!
Corn grits are also yellowish and, unlike rice, will not disturb the appetizing color of these cabbage soup!
