Puree "Traffic light"

Puree Traffic Light

Ingredients

Potatoes medium 6pcs
Medium carrots 1 PC
Turnip big 1/2
Frozen spinach 2 washers
Tomato paste 2st. l.
Water 1L
salt taste

Cooking method

  • The post is not over yet. I suggest a recipe for a completely lean puree:
  • Take vegetables, wash and peel.
  • Cut the potatoes in half, carrots into 2-3 cm pieces, cut the turnip into pieces similar in size to carrots, put in a saucepan, pour hot water, salt to taste.
  • Place vegetables in a saucepan and cook.
  • While the vegetables are boiling, take 2 washers of frozen chopped spinach, and without adding anything, "cook" them in a microwave oven, at medium power (I have 450W), for 5 minutes, if not boiling, add a couple more minutes.
  • When the vegetables are cooked, divide them into three different containers to grind them separately.
  • Put 2 boiled potatoes in each container and pour a little vegetable broth (2-3 tablespoons), obtained by cooking vegetables.
  • Add carrots to one container, turnip into another and 2 tbsp. l. tomato paste (I have a tomato) and add spinach to the third. If desired, you can add a little vegetable oil, 1 hour each. l. in each part, I did not add.
  • To chop everything, I chopped it with a blender with my foot, since quite a lot of mashed potatoes did not become sticky to the potatoes.
  • Cook and eat to your health!

On the street, everything is white again. And I wanted to add some colors to dinner. And since I rarely make pure mashed potatoes, I decided to play with color and taste. Of course, the colors of the puree are far from the real traffic light, but they are quite recognizable
There can be a lot of options for additives to potatoes; turnips can be replaced with white zucchini or rutabagas. If you like broccoli, then the green part can be made from broccoli alone or a mixture of it with potatoes.
You don't have to do three colors at once, all the same, you will have to wash a lot of dishes after such cooking. All parts of mashed potatoes have their own quite pronounced taste, potatoes are a fairly neutral product and therefore red mashed potatoes are clearly tomato, yellow-orange is sweetly carrot, and green is definitely spinach. It turned out tasty and healthy.
The remaining broth can be used for soup later.
