Tatka1, what a nice recipe! I have two tea rose bushes in my dacha, they are of different varieties, but the buds are also gaining fullness and color. As soon as they bloom, I will cook a jar of jam, for treatment, we do not really eat jam.

Girls, our southern tea rose is only called "tea rose", in fact, it has a different name, I will find out and write. In real life, this is a bush like a rosehip, only the flowers are different. These are not spray roses in the usual sense, it's almost like a weed sometimes. I found a post from one floristic forum

I got a tea rose together with a clay hut in the village, which we bought for a summer residence. The former mistress turned out to have two of them: one - typical "paradise booths", as in the old pictures. The second - with an unusual addition of petals, brighter in color, in the center is a button, petals are attached to it in a fan, an edge, as if they stand vertically on their side. Both bloom at the same time, along with pink peonies (I called it the pink period), they love the sun, but they can withstand partial shade, the smell is simply impossible, there is not enough emotion to withstand it in all corners of the yard. The petals retain their scent both dry and in the jam. In the village, all sorts of flowers are passed on to each other, these roses are everywhere. Nobody covers them, does not cut or spray them, after flowering, I generally forgot about them, watering is natural. But!!! These roses are not BRUSH, they walk around the site like raspberries, crawl out in the most uncomfortable and unexpected places, pass many meters underground, I missed them for a couple of years - and it is already a huge problem to uproot them by hand. Maybe there are some others, but I think there is no point in buying SUCH.

I have two bushes exactly as described in the post. I just can't insert a photo of my bush for clarity.
Tatka1
svetta, so we don't really have jam, but there are always a couple of jars of pink.

That's for sure. We have almost every yard.
Thank you, Svetik, for stopping by!

And I suddenly read that such a jam can be made from a peony. These beauties are very common among us. There are recipes on the internet, but I have not seen anywhere that the lower parts of the petals need to be cut off. Maybe that's why you come across reviews that are bitter ... Girls, have you tried any of the peony?
Tatka1
lady inna, Inna, just on Sunday I watched our program "Everything will be delicious" with the participation of actress Olga Sumskaya, there they made peony jam. You can look at it in detail on the Internet, but I remembered that only 2 types of peonies are suitable and hibiscus tea was added for a bright color.
lady inna
Tatyana, thanks, I will take a look

Girls, our so-called. the tea rose from which in the south is brewed from jam to wine is correctly called Rosa odorata or fragrant rose (Wikipedia). And in Ukrainian it is called Trojanda-ruzha, there is even a song
Krishtal burn (Troyanda-ruja)

Lyrics: Viktor Gerasimov Music: Mikola Mozgovy
Already the geese flew the gene for the sky
At viriy sinyo-biliy, ty їkh check,
Check krіz mlu osennyu, krіz nіch-fog,
Check and save the sun for us.
At the hour of farewell my kokhaniy
Take the Trojan-Rouge,
Palak in the sky early star
We'll burn-in-fire we'll stay.

Prispiv:
Kryshtal to burn through the night,
Yak sleepy rose,
But my heart doesn't want to
Goodbye to yours.

Take the Trojan-Rouge and enter our garden,
Till you spogad tearing down, mov zorepad;
In girky khvilini trouble, kryz days, rocky -
Hai to shine for us little red peels.
At the hour of farewell my kokhaniy
Take a trojan horse,
Palak in the sky early star
We'll burn-in-fire we'll stay.

svetta, Svetik, thanks! Interesting))))

Only today I found time to look Sharp, in your topic with a recipe.I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart, a wonderful, colorful and such a delicious recipe! I remembered about him when I collected the petals from a neighbor, because you gave a link to BW. We have a rose centifolia bloomed for days, a neighbor gave the first petals and I dried them for tea. Early this morning I collected 2 kg 100 g of petals from her from three bushes, I had already gone through everything and prepared for cooking jam (I do not cut off the white tips) and making raw, medicinal syrup .. I decided to relax a little with a tablet on the sofa and of course run into your unsubscribe recipe and congratulate! Until she started spinning again, put it off, zapamyatova ...
You have a tea rose, centifolia. From such rose oil is made, jam, wine, syrups. But not only can you make jam from it.
Girls, who have roses with an excellent smell, you can also make jam, make medicinal and delicious syrup .. From old disposables, from Laduri, Sins of Thomas, Benjamin Briten, Louis Audier, Gertrude Jekyll, Abraham Derby, Fisherman Friends, etc. I know that many have favorites in Austinka, the Frenchwoman Massada, from Cordes, etc. If there is a gorgeous, thick smell, cook jam for health!
And one more thing ... if your beauties have very light petals with a smell, you can add just dark red, maroon, odorless for the color and beauty of the jam. But a mixture of scented petals is always welcome!
And I decided to add another moment ... if you collected a few petals at one time and you don't want to mess with so many .. Then just put them in a plastic bag, tie them tightly and put them in the refrigerator. The next day, they collected more petals and if there are not enough of them, add them to the bag in the refrigerator. On the second day, they collected, took out a bag of petals from the refrigerator and cook JAM, not jam.
Everything, I ran to cook jam and make syrup. All delicious pink jam for the winter!
Tatka1
Borkovna, Lenochka, thanks for stopping by, I also brought interesting information! I didn't know that
You are hero! Collected 2kg of roses. It has almost faded from us. The petals are fragile and pale.
I would be glad if you show your jam later! Happy cooking!
Light
Tatka1, Tanyushahow many petals should be? By weight.
Tatka1
Light, Svetik, for such a quantity of sugar, try to get the net weight from 350 to 500g
Can I wait for the report?
Light
Tat, I took it first, then I tried it. A leaf with a white part is sweet, and bitter towards the edges. Will the jam be bitter? Curly red rose with the scent of a tea rose.
Tatka1
Svetochka, I personally have never cooked, but here is Borkovna Lenochka's post on the previous page and tips
Tea rose jam # 57
She is an expert with us

Tatka1
Light, let's ask the girls in the Gazebo, otherwise I would advise you I didn't have one, I don't know
Light
Tatka1, I don't know what sort it is. A bush grows near the dormitory. We'll have to wash it. She was in fluff and flew out.

Quote: Tatka1
let's ask the girls in the Gazebo
Tatka1, well
Tatka1
Light, mine is no problem. I don't wash mine, because it grows in the yard.
I asked the girls, we will wait for an answer in the Gazebo
Light
I typed a little. In buds only 239 g.
Tatka1
Light, well, this will be half the portion Reduce all ingredients in half)))
Light
It smelled on the bush. Now it doesn’t smell. I’ll collect it.
Tatka1
Do not. Do half of it, and you will find out. If you like it, then you will pick it up and cook it again
otherwise you will transfer sugar in vain if you don't like it
Light
Tatka1, Tatyanamessing around sadly with a pair of roses.
Tatka1
Light, well, look, dear, as it is convenient for you, do it. I will be glad if everything works out
Light
Tatka1, Tatyana, Thank you!
Tatka1
Light,
Light
Tatyana, put it in the refrigerator. I'll go back in a couple of days. She's not all blooming yet.

today tore the rose petals and "pinched" the bumblebee by the butt
He crawled out of the flower, got angry and flew away

I collected 406 g of rose petals.

The color is beautiful, there is no rose smell. The taste is something incomprehensible. Some kind of mass is sweet - bitter - tart. I like the astringency. And for sweetness, I think, can I add sugar? 500 g is not enough?
Tatka1
Light, Svetochka, dear, it's hard for me to give advice, I didn't make it out of such a rose.I think that sugar can be added, the current is a bit, so as not to be sugar-coated later)))

Listen, what if you strain and leave with syrup? You can add to ice cream, yogurt, and curd, and so on.
I still have last year's

Tea rose jam
Light
Tatka1, Tatyana, you can and syrup. Something sad to chew a rose.
Tanyusha, what does it taste like for you?
I think it will not be sugar-coated, there is a lemon.
Tatka1
Light, tea rose leaves are soft, slightly tart, I like to chew them. The liquid is sweet, there is no bitterness at all.
In the refrigerator, a jar of syrup, open from last year, has become viscous-viscous.
Light
For me, it would be more correct to say bitter - tart - sweet. When you chew it looks like weed (not taste).
Okay, let it stand. And then I will have very little syrup.
Tatka1
Nothing, come in handy
Light
I added another rose. Maybe she needed to cut off the white part? I haven't tried it.
Bitterness would be removed and beauty.
Tatka1
I always remove the white part Checked-bitter

Tatka1, Tanya, and yesterday's rose is the sweetest part

Svetik, well, in general, you have your own exclusive recipe!
Light
Tatka1, Tatyana, yeah!
Borkovna
Svetyashechka, Sharp, although you can't give a link to another forum ... but still dare to give it, realizing that they can be banned. Read about how girls made rose petal jam on the Ukrainian forum. I knew many of them, I communicate now, so I completely trust.
lady inna
Light, and you still washed the roses?
Tatka1
Borkovna, Helen, looked) Maybe someone will come in handy. My recipe suits me, it has been tested over the years
I can't give Svetyashka any sensible advice on jam from another variety of roses, because I myself have never done
Light
Quote: lady inna
Svetiashka, did you wash the roses after all
lady inna, Inna, no. I went over it. Every petal.
I thought it was necessary to dry it later. I lost my desire.

Borkovna, Elena, Thank you! I've already made the jam.
