Barley with ventricles

Ingredients

pearl barley 1 glass
water 2 glasses
tomato juice (fruit drink) 1 glass
ventricles (any bird) cleaned 500 grams
turnip onion 1 piece
large carrots 1 piece
vegetable oil 5-6 st. spoons
garlic 3-4 teeth
ground black pepper taste
salt taste
sugar taste

Cooking method

  • Rinse the pearl barley well and fill with water. Leave to swell overnight.
  • Drain the water in the morning, rinse well.
  • We clean the ventricles of any bird from films and partitions. We do not cut large into pieces.
  • Fry lightly with half the oil.
  • Add some water and simmer until half cooked.
  • Remove the lid, let the water evaporate.
  • Add more oil.
  • Put chopped onions and carrots.
  • Fry.
  • Add tomato juice.
  • Salt, add sugar and pepper.
  • Simmer until the excess liquid evaporates.
  • Put pearl barley in an even layer on top. Fill with water.
  • Cook under the lid.
  • When the water disappears from the surface, put garlic cloves into the cereal.
  • Cover and bring to readiness.
  • If necessary, add more salt.
  • Stir to mix well.
  • Turn off the heat and let stand for a couple of minutes under the lid.
  • We serve.
