Cooking method

  • Not one "foray" into nature is not complete without porridge. This porridge is a visiting card of our city (I think that many other places too). You don't need to cook anything else. Take only herbs and vegetables. We rarely cook it, but it's a holiday! Of course, you can't call it a dietary product! But it’s so delicious, which means sometimes you can. All the blanks can be made at home, which we usually do. Clean, wash, cut everything. You can even make a roast at home and take it with you! This time we cooked in the yard, on May 9th. Let's get started.
  • We make a fire and let it light up.
  • Let the kettle warm up
  • Cut the bacon into strips or cubes. We put it in the pot and wait for the fat to go out.
  • Cut the onion into cubes, and three carrots on a grater or cut as you like.
  • Add onions and carrots to bacon. Fry until golden brown.
  • Cut the potatoes into cubes.
  • Add water to the frying and throw in the potatoes.
  • Cook until half cooked.
  • Thoroughly wash the millet and put it in the pot.
  • Let it boil and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Shake the egg in a bowl, add a little water and pour into the porridge.
  • Add the stew and herbs.
  • You can add butter.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Remove from heat, cover and let it brew for 15 minutes.
  • All. You can start your meal! And be sure to take supplements.
  • Field porridge

At my grandmother's in the village, when the harvesting of grain in the fields ended, they always cooked such porridge. This tradition was called "washing hands".
From our grandfather, we also sometimes got this porridge. He always tried to bring some gifts to his grandchildren in the evening, "from a bunny."
Angela, thanks for this recipe! They inspired them with pleasant memories.

And I want this porridge! I admit, I have never eaten such a thing! We went on hikes, and with an overnight stay ... we cooked porridge, but others ... buckwheat with stew ~ most often! With the smell of haze! .. oh, beauty ...
It’s too hot for a fire, so I’ll paint THIS FIELD porridge ~ for a start, on the stove in a cast iron pot ~ 2 in 1 ~ soup and porridge! The dream is simple!
Thank you! Angela!
