Pearl barley soup with saury

Ingredients

Pearl barley 100 g
Potatoes (medium) 5 pieces.
Onions (medium) 3 pcs.
Carrots (large) 1 PC.
Tomato paste 2 tbsp. l
(I have Krasnodar sauce)
Natural saury 1 can (250 gr)
Salt, peppercorns, bay leaf taste

Cooking method

  • Soak the pearl barley overnight in cold water. Drain the water in the morning, rinse the cereals. Pour 2 liters of water into a saucepan, salt, bring to a boil, add pearl barley. Cook over low heat until the barley is almost cooked (I had it ready in 20 minutes). Add diced potatoes. Meanwhile, fry the onions and carrots. When the potatoes are ready, add frying, tomato paste and saury from a can to the soup (I added along with the liquid). Bring soup to a boil, add peppercorns and bay leaves. Turn off the fire, close the pan with a lid, let the soup brew for 15-20 minutes.
