Cooking method

  • I published this recipe about ten years ago in a magazine, but now, as they say, I want to submit it again to the users of this site. The fact is that I have the audacity to consider myself the author of this recipe, well, simply because I have never heard anything like it before (although there is nothing supernatural here!). But if this is not the case, and someone came up with the same recipe before me, please do not be offended! The wonderful thing is that everything is extremely simple and at the same time amazingly tasty! No need to rush to the shops and look for some "incredible" products! The whole "secret" is not in the products (although something is also important here), but in the very version of preparation.
  • About products.
  • Choose the composition of minced meat based on your preferences - it can be any meat in any proportions (the photo generally shows a turkey breast, and I must say that it is no worse than, say, my beloved lamb! Surprisingly, but I must admit this fact!). Greens - the same, at your discretion, who loves what. But about the potatoes, I must say separately. Firstly, the size: I personally use large tubers, but if someone wants to mess with small ones, then it's up to you. Second, and more importantly, the quality and origin of the potatoes. Personally, I select potatoes for two reasons: the potatoes should be white and, when cut, have a normal tasty smell, and not smell of some kind of chemistry or ... (you get the idea).
  • Cooking.
  • 1. Cooking regular minced meat:

  • meat, onions, herbs, garlic, clean, wash, chop, scroll in a meat grinder (or in a blender, the question is how many servings do you cook). Salt, pepper and (preferably, but not necessary) put in the refrigerator for an hour. By the way, eggs are not needed.
  • 2. Wash potatoes and cut them in half without peeling. Next, the most interesting thing: cut out the middle with a spoon (see the photo, the whole "secret" is in this!) So that the "walls" remain 5-7 millimeters.

  • 3. Salt the halves, stuff with minced meat (no top) and glue them. Wrap each potato in foil.
  • 4. Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 10 minutes, then lower the temperature to 180 degrees and bake for another 20 minutes; then again lower the temperature to 120 degrees and bring the dish to readiness (be careful, it is quite possible that at this temperature you will need about 3 hours to bring the dish to condition, but believe me, it's worth it!). It is very important that the final cooking time depends on many reasons: the quality of the potatoes, the thickness of the walls, etc. But you can check the readiness of the dish with an ordinary toothpick - the fact is that the filling is prepared, oddly enough, much faster, so as soon as the potatoes will be soft - everything is ready !!!

  • I deliberately did not take some kind of "super-duper" photo of the finished dish, everything is extremely simple. When ready, think for yourself! Here is one of the options (again, short and simple!): Put potatoes on the plates, open the foil (or without foil) and divide it into halves; sprinkle with grated cheese and add some light vegetable salad. It turns out there are many options, everything is delicious, and so on ...

Why lower the temperature like that? Potato boats are usually baked for 30-40 minutes at 180. And here it is too long to bring something up. And if you first boil the potatoes until half cooked?

Both of these recipes are in use in our family. Now, for example, I set to defrost minced meat for a casserole.
