Ingredients

Peeled pumpkin 500 g
Medium onion (or shallot 3 pcs.) 1 PC.
Large Bulgarian pepper 0.5 pcs
Refined vegetable oil 1 tbsp. l.
Mayonnaise 2 tbsp. l.
Grated hard cheese 3-4 tbsp. l.
Freshly ground pepper and salt taste
Hops-suneli or Italian herbs taste
Allspice and bay leaf taste
Fresh rosemary (if available) a couple of pinches
Raw-cured bacon (optional) 2-3 slices

Cooking method

  • We love pumpkin in all kinds! Rather, I taught my family, and now we love it so much that I cook something from it several times a week. There are many recipes, I propose one of my favorites, which I came up with precisely in order to accustom home-made fussy to pumpkin. This option is good because if you make it sharper, then even those who cannot stand pumpkin eat it. The main thing is to persuade to try!
  • Not a single feast is complete without such a snack, sometimes I replace it with a similar one from eggplant. (I will expose the recipe tomorrow) The good thing is that the preparation can be made in the evening, and baked before serving.

Note

It is better to use raw smoked bacon, it will give a special taste and charm to the dish - I didn't have it, I had to add homemade loin.
It’s very, very tasty without bacon, so don’t even be discouraged if it’s out of stock.
The recipe is suitable for both sweet and savory pumpkin. If the pumpkin is very sweet, then I advise you to make it a little sharper. You can even use paprika or some fresh chili.
This dish looks very advantageous on the table and is eaten by guests without a trace.
In general, it is not necessary to weigh everything, the amount of ingredients can be varied. The main thing is to guess with spices and not overcook the onions. Sometimes I sprinkle a very sweet pumpkin with lemon juice.

Onions, it seems to me, should be fried less. It should not be fried here until brown, just chat it in a pan from all sides so that it softens and grabs a little.
