Drying berries for muesli, porridge, tea

Ingredients

berry

Cooking method

  • This year I have dried all the berries in a row that I came across. We are not lovers of jams and preserves, and we eat dried berries just like that, cook compote, brew them in tea, add them to porridge. This is an exceptional benefit and minimal labor for procurement.
  • So, I dried strawberries, strawberries, raspberries, irga, currants, cherries, blackberries. I have my own berry and therefore I do not wash it, I spread it in a thin layer in the dryer and dry it at 45 degrees. when the volume of the berry is halved, I transfer it to a sheet of parchment and put it away for drying in the attic. I store the dried berries in glass jars or cotton bags. In the latter case, the aroma disappears, but the taste remains.
  • How nice it is to open a jar of berries in winter and breathe in the aroma of summer !!!
  • Irga turned out to be the least tasty. Apart from the purple color, there is no satisfaction from her. No taste, no smell ... only bones ...
  • I was very pleased with the strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. Fragrant, tasty and beautiful berries.
  • Only black currants are suitable for drying. Dried currants retain their aroma and taste. for blackcurrant tea lovers this is the best option.
  • Share your experience of drying and eating berries.

Thank you, Irina. I've been on the forum for a long time. only read mostly. Well, in the topic of Ivan-tea, I'm a regular reader. in the process of preparing tea, I began to dry flowers, fruits and various berries for tea mixes. The topic of tea is so long-lasting that drying the non-essential ingredients is like a needle in a haystack .... and it’s delicious in itself. So let's dry and share our impressions in separate topics. I think it will be so convenient.

And I want to intercede for irgu) I like tea very much, but I grind it on a coffee grinder so that useful substances come out better. It is very useful for high cholesterol, and I sing it to my mother. It is convenient to use ground berries in a tea maker - I put them on tea, then they do not spoil the device, and the tea is healthier.
Therefore, I always have a jar with ground dried berries, apples, etc.
