Cooking method

  • This German dish was widespread in 19th century Germany. It is very easy to prepare and does not require a lot of culinary skills.
  • Cut the bread into even slices.
  • Beat eggs with milk.
  • Heat butter in a frying pan (I used ghee).
  • Dip slices of bread in an egg-milk mixture on both sides and fry in butter for about 3 minutes.

I make hot sandwiches for breakfast almost every day (not only as in the recipe, I do these when there is more time, also on weekends). And so, in order to save time, in the evening I make preparations: bread, sausage, cheese. I put them in a multicooker, I have Steba, and put them on a delayed start. In the morning we get up, and there is already a hot breakfast.
