It's strange .. I read so many good things about her and wanted to buy too, but then all the same, Redmond stopped at another model.
Eyeglasser
I bought this device at the end of January. The price is already under 16 thousand, but now all prices have risen in approximately the same way. I chose it according to the principle of a multi-cooker-pressure cooker + multi-cook. As I understand it, Redmond has this only model with such a set of functions. I considered an alternative to Polaris, but reputation played for Redmond. While mastering. A couple of times the time of the pressure build-up was surprising. But mostly okay. They say that you can reduce this time by pouring hot water. Need to try. It is also embarrassing that a stream of steam comes out of the valve during cooking. Not strong, but it goes ... Do you also?

Constantly? Or from time to time? Shouldn't go all the time. If so, the valve does not close completely.

no, it doesn't always go

Here is Redmond's official answer:

***, good day!
Before cooking, the multicooker must go into working mode (gain temperature / pressure). This takes 5 to 25 minutes, depending on the size of the food and the program. Unfortunately, this process cannot be accelerated. During the cooking process, excess pressure is released through the valve in the form of steam - this is not a defect.

As for a trickle of steam, I'm not worried yet. First, it is really thin, it flows without pressure, like smoke. Secondly, when the multicooker begins to relieve pressure, steam flies out to the ceiling, that is, everything is in order with the pressure inside. I'll just wait for an answer from QPavlovich and calm down completely (or vice versa).

This can only happen from time to time, and not constantly, and even then not every time. If steam goes on constantly, this means that the valve is not completely closed.
Eyeglasser
Once again I asked a question about the valve on the Redmond website, I'm waiting for an answer. Yesterday I went through the whole lid in search of the reason. There are actually two reasons. 1. This is the valve itself. The device is the simplest. The heavy ball lies in a round depression with a valve hole at the bottom. While he is lying, the valve is closed. The pressure is released by kicking the ball in the side with a special rod. In 10-15 kicks, the pressure is completely bled off. That is, a poor-quality groove of the ball bed is guaranteed to give steam. 2. This is a cover lock. It is located next to the valve and is a pin with a silicone cap facing into the chamber. When the pressure rises, the pin is squeezed up and it locks the opening handle, and the silicone cap is pressed against the inside of the lid and seems to prevent steam from escaping through the gaps of the pin hole. There is doubt about the reliability of this gasket. Today, while my wife does not see, I will conduct experiments. I will put a bowl with a lid on the stove, press down with a heavy load and boil the water, observing the operation of the entire system directly. )))
But seriously, of course I would like to hear feedback from real owners on this matter. I also come to the conclusion about the power of simplicity ... Maybe the RMC-M140 is too fancy?

I would say this model has a large percentage of defects, only the third one turned out to be non-defective and works correctly

It is also embarrassing that a stream of steam comes out of the valve during cooking. Not much, but it goes ...
In my usual pressure cooker, which is on gas, a little steam also comes out. At first, while heating is on, stronger. Then, apparently, the normal pressure is established and goes less, but all the same, how without it? Can you imagine if the steam did not come out? After all, the multicooker can explode! Somehow, the valve in an ordinary pressure cooker closed, and the porridge was on the ceiling. Now I am afraid to use them.
But in m140 this does not happen, because the steam goes down. Although, someone says that they have no steam. But it seems to me that this is if you cook on modes below 100 degrees.
Eyeglasser
I sorted it out and calmed down. I tested the device in different ways, from the "don't try to repeat it" series. In m140, the valve and the blocker are located in a chamber located inside the cover of the device. The pressure build-up does not occur immediately, this is how the program is configured. It allows the contents to boil and even relieves pressure for a while. All this time, steam flows through the valve and the blocker, and since the exit from the chamber for it is a little difficult for safety reasons with a special cover, the steam is largely converted into condensate and remains inside the chamber. When the valve closes and the cooking process begins, the condensate remaining inside the chamber from the high temperature begins to evaporate. This is the main reason for the "steam trickle". Well, the second, as Donchik123 correctly noted, is the release of excess pressure. And there is not so much of it, because, unlike the old pressure cookers, here the cooking temperature is regulated by the appliance, it does not allow much to "boil". The good thing about the M140 is that the ball valve is another level of protection against overpressure. Ball weight based on maximum pressure level. If the permissible norm is exceeded, it simply begins to tremble finely and the excess pressure comes out imperceptibly.
In general, the M140 is a good thing, solid. I went to the store for interest, felt and touched other models. Those that over 5 thousand seem like toys. The more expensive ones are much lighter. So, I weighed everything, measured it and found it fit. Recommend.
P.S. Steamed chicken yesterday. I poured hot water from the kettle. Pressure gained three times faster.

How does the quality of a pressure cooker relate to its weight?

Quote: Eyeglasser
release of excess pressure
The release of excess pressure, that is, steam through the valve in "toy" pressure cookers does not occur constantly, but only when excess pressure occurs in the bowl. This does not even happen every cooking. What can we say about constant etching. But, apparently, yes "M140 is good because the valve with the ball is another level of protection against excess pressure."

By the way, such balls are in some multicooker (not pressure cooker), for example, in Panasonic, bork. They prevent the intensive exit of steam from the device (at the same time they rattle terribly), from time to time blocking the possibility of opening the multicooker (but the steam still comes out through the valve).
Eyeglasser
Well, about the weight, I simplified it, of course. It is about the thickness of the bowl, the lid, the strength of the structure, the reliability of the locking mechanism, etc. These things require weight. And I studied the device in detail, in the end I liked everything.

Quote: Manna
What can we say about constant etching.

Here, apparently, I incorrectly described the test results. There is no permanent etching. The steam trickle effect appears from condensate in the valve chamber. I installed it simply (manufacturer, close your ears), filled the camera with water - no bubbles, so the valve is sealed. Yesterday I steamed chicken, poured boiling water from a kettle into a bowl. The pressure accumulated faster, the condensate was accordingly less formed, the stream of steam was almost impossible to see. So far, I have observed the "shaking of the ball" only once, when I tested an empty device with one water inside without food.
I signed up through Contact with several owners of this device, who appeared in the comments on YandexMarket. They have a similar effect, but they did not bother about it. In general, I use it.
The biggest problem with this thing right now is the price. 17 thousand already. I remember when for the first time a long time ago they took a microwave oven, chose functions for a long time, compared them. But in the end it turned out that its only function is to get the plate for 3 minutes and clink. You do not get anything fundamentally more from the increase in the price of the model. Now I was buying a microwave, took the simplest Panasonic. Perhaps, when buying my third multi, I will think the same ... But now while I like the thick bowl, massive body, and I really use the "multi-cook" (and the main reason was he, the infection). Time will tell.
Vyacheslavna
Take me to the ranks of the owners of this multi-pressure cooker! I bought a 30% discount on recycling at the office. website on February 5. But today there was a terrible bobble I decided to try to cook oatmeal porridge, so to speak, according to my recipe 2 tbsp. hercules, 5 tbsp. water, 2 st. milk on the program "milk porridge". The bowl turned out to be less than two liters and I pressed the start button with peace of mind. Before the pressure was set, everything was normal, but after that it was something. Porridge climbed out of all the cracks imaginable and inconceivable, poured on my brand new glass gas panel (the multicooker was standing on it by the hood), and I ran alongside and did not know what to do.Finally the geyser dried up and I thought it was a sinful thing that the skiff had come. I then washed it for two more hours, I unscrewed everything I could and rubbed it with a soft brush, cleaned all the small holes with a toothpick and cotton swabs, then tried to turn it on, it seemed to work. I ran the "steamed vegetables" twice on the program and now it seems to me that somehow it does not work like that, as before, or maybe just out of fear. The moral of this fable is as follows, use a multi-cook, but I will definitely not cook on the dairy program now

That is, the valve has not closed? Where did that come from? Through the valve? From under the lid?
Vyacheslavna
The fact of the matter is that the valve seemed to have closed, and it was pouring from where the steam comes out when the pressure was set and from the side, where the handle from the pan is located, and when the steam began to bleed from the same place, a geyser clogged. Now I'll try to make a roast and see what happens.
Vyacheslavna
Eyeglasser, I have a question for you, if I can ... Please tell me, after the end of any pressure cooking program, when the automatic steam release starts, does steam seep out through the open-close handle? Otherwise, it goes with an almost imperceptible thin trickle and condensation forms and I think that this should not be so ...
QPavlovich
Regarding observed steam leaks, etc., these are normal operating phenomena.
Kashi did not try to escape.
At first it was interesting to watch the process of multi-work ..... but now I turned it on, set the mode and forgot.
As the forum member Eyeglasser correctly noted: the big problem with this thing now is the price! I agree 100%.
REDMOND's pricing policy is simply surprising, it seems that the RMC-M140 multicooker has the entire body inlaid with gold
Vyacheslavna
QPavlovichAnd I had another attempt to escape the porridge on a multi-cooker at 95C and the porridge was practically on the water, it only whitened with milk. She poured the porridge and poured water to check the temperature, after 15 minutes the water boiled with a spring at 95C and at 90C also boiled, but a little quieter. The next step was to "call a friend", that is, to the service and there I was told that there should be no steam leaks through the handle and the temperature should be maintained at the set one, that is, the sensor was faulty. Tomorrow I'll take it to the service and write an application for an exchange.I completely agree about the price, but I liked it so much that my husband decided to give me a gift in spite of the price, and here is such a thing ...

I became the happy owner of this multi. A question arose, the operation book says that the basic package includes a deep-fat basket, but for some reason it was not sent to me.

Can you please tell me if there is any analogue of this multi thread on sale now? I chose the second cartoon for a long time and finally settled on this model, started looking for where to buy it, but it disappeared from sale in all stores (I found it only in one online store for 20 thousand rubles, but for this money I definitely I will not buy).
Sklifanya
The other day I baked bread in a cartoon. I kneaded the dough and put it in the multicooker bowl. Launched the bread program, finished baking the cartoon sang. I go up to it to admire our joint labors, but I can't open it. Indicates that there is pressure inside. I press the pressure release button, nothing happens. I whirled around it and found that the dough came up so that it completely clogged the valve. I waited for my husband. He couldn't open it either. He ripped open a hole with a wire and, with great difficulty, opened the multicooker. The main thing is that the manual says, if you have a clogged valve on the "Bread" program, then open the cartoon, clean the valve and next time put less dough. BRILLIANT !!!!!!!! HOW TO OPEN ?? Tell me, am I the only one so capable, or did one of the users of this miracle have similar situations? I am outraged. Well, how could you come up with such a thing.

And one more question. Can I fry something with the lid open? I fry onions, for example, you can't see anything under the lid when it's time to stir it. I open the lid, but as I understand it, when the lid is open, the time continues to count, but the heating stops?

Please tell me how to do this in this slow cooker? She screams that the lid is not closed and the program does not start.

Quote from instruction, page 46:
3. Close the cover firmly, leave the cover lock knob in the Open position... Connect the device to the mains.
4. Press the Menu button to select the FRYING / FRYING program (the corresponding indicator should flash on the display).
5. Pressing the button "Type of product", set the subprogram "MEAT" (the corresponding indicator should flash on the display)
<...>
8. Press the "Start / Auto Heater" button. A warning tone sounds and the cover lock indicator (on the display) flashes.
Then OPEN the lid and set the lid locking knob to the Closed positionabout. The cooking process starts and the program runs down to a countdown.
Do not close the appliance lid while the program is running!
Sklifanya
Thank you very much. I ran to try.

And I bought it today. To my beauty: RMC-M140. New, in the store. I got into the kitchen as I was born there.
The first cooking is vegetable soup (half lemon). Well, like fighting the smell of plastic and for the sake of public opinion. This is my first slow cooker and I was obliged to perform this mysterious ceremony.
It didn't smell of plastic, though.
And how I was waiting for the sound of the ball in the valve .... And I did hear it. Gyy ...
People abandoned this model because of the sound of a bouncing ball? How well and correctly this world is arranged. Otherwise, I would not have got it for this price.
And then I cooked pilaf from the recipe book. Now I feel good, I am well fed and good-natured. And the family is well-fed and happy.
Many thanks to the forum users for their help in choosing.

Please tell me if my conclusion is correct that the function of turning off the sound signal in this model becomes useless, since the steam valve "sounds" in any case. At first, I liked this model precisely because of the ability to turn off the sound (to cook while the child is sleeping).

This is my first and so far the only multicooker pressure cooker and I have nothing to compare with, but I will try to express my thoughts:
Yes, the steam valve "sounds". Moreover, both at the time of dialing (some time after the liquid boils), and when the pressure is released. Moreover, when the pressure is released, the steam comes out with a loud hiss, which is much louder than the sound signal and the sound of the valve. I think that the child will not like it. My device is in the kitchen and does not cause any inconvenience in this regard. If you decide to buy this model, then it will be possible to cook in modes without pressure, but there are not many of these modes and is it worth it to overpay for unnecessary functionality?
Since the factor of silence is very important for you, I suggest considering only purely multicooker. There is simply nothing to make noise.
If you still want a pressure cooker, consider the following:
All sellers will assure you that pressure cooks food much faster. This is BUT pressure cookers start counting the cooking time after the pressure is on. But the dialing time already strongly depends on the fullness of the saucepan and the amount of liquid in it. When I tried to cook one portion of semolina from the recipe, there was simply not enough liquid to set the pressure and the porridge turned into such a brown film at the bottom of the pan.
It won't be easy to peep into the pressure cooker while cooking. You need to release the pressure, then just open the lid, and then wait again until the pressure builds up.
But the pressure cooker is very suitable for shank, boiled pork, jellied meat, stewed cabbage soup, etc. And we respect this business. Meat can be chewed with lips.

My conclusion:
For young mothers - a slow cooker,
for respectable grandfathers - a multicooker-pressure cooker,
for technically advanced respectable grandfathers - RMC-M140.

Something like this.
Good luck with your choice.
Jukka
Thanks for the comment. Looks like I'm going to choose a different pressure cooker. I will share my experience: I already had a pressure cooker (but after 3 years of active use it was out of order), so pressure in it and its release was generally silent (if it was not forced off). The pressure was recruited for 2 servings of porridge literally 3-4 minutes (and if you pour boiling water, then even faster), that is, the total cooking time was actually twice as fast as in a conventional multicooker (this one is also available). There was one drawback - constant loud beeps.

I went to read about this pressure cooker. Heard about her. Everything gnawed at my soul that in it, as far as I understood, you can change the cooking temperature on your own, but in mine it is impossible. I have only declared programs. I also have a Redmond multicooker-pressure cooker, but model 190. And now I read the topic and somehow relieved it. I have no problems with the cap and the valve. And nothing comes out of any slots))) True, if I exceed the amount of products for a certain program, then I have to carefully let out steam. This is, for example, on the cooking program. When I cook compote and I have all the fruits and berries instead of with water, it turns out somewhere at the level of 3.5 liters. And in the introduction up to 3x. But then I gradually let off steam and normally. If you just boil such a volume of compote and suddenly open the valve, then the liquid will begin to spray out along with the steam.

The instructions on this matter write that it is not necessary to exceed the volume of 3 liters. And if the liquid is splashing, then do not open the valve and the lid immediately, but wait for it to cool. But I already got the hang of it) But this is only with compotes I have. And for the rest, well, only sometimes the cartoon releases excess steam when cooking. Still, judging by the posts in the topic, my cartoon is better)

Sklifanya, did not make jellied meat. I did stew many times, it worked out great!
I loaded the meat and ingredients, set the STEERING-MEAT-1 hour 40 minutes and then the multicooker switches to the Auto heat mode, I leave it there all night (about 8-9 hours) in the morning, put it in the jars, cool it and put it in the refrigerator.

Hello everybody! Owners of m140 please respond .... the topic of choice tormented me. To begin with, I have been actively using 110 rare for more than 4 years. Our love is mutual and does not fade away, but I am thinking about what to buy another quick-release, to help 110 and, to be honest, I understand that everything is not eternal and maybe my darling will come out on a well-deserved rest someday.

Of all the available models, I liked the 140th in terms of functionality, but the large number of negative reviews scares me. On the manufacturer's website, I did not find any information regarding the refinement of this model (maybe I was looking badly) ... so I think whether to take it or not.

In general, the questions are - are you still happy with the purchase? Does the multi still work properly? Is there any information from the manufacturer about modifying the model?

Or maybe you will advise something else .... for me now this is a very difficult choice, I'm used to 110 and just can't imagine how to find something similar to it in quality and functionality.

Tell me, if you cook milk porridge, the lid is spattered? I bought this pressure cooker a few days ago. And I started with rice porridge according to the recipe book, and so, the whole lid was in foam after cooking. Maybe she did something wrong? I really like the multicooker. I realized that I had to get used to it a little. I have one more (although it is premium), but it also needs a "certain approach"
Kudryawka
sungloryshine, there is no foam on the lid. I measured the rice exactly according to the book (I wash it), I use selected yogurt, butter and sugar, sometimes without it, I mix it and turn it on according to the instructions. The first time I was afraid, I added water and reduced the amount of milk. In general, our family is crazy about porridges from this multicooker, I myself am insanely happy having received a taste from childhood :)

Thank you. And further. It took a lot of effort to flush the O-ring. How do you remove the cover?
Kudryawka
sungloryshine, I press my finger on the pimp in the middle of the iron one, with my fingers I pull on the side of the lid as if I grab it, taking my fingers behind the lid and it is calmly removed) I can easily do this.

OK thanks. ))) I'll try
