Wheat porridge as a side dish (pressure cooker Polaris 0305)

Wheat groats 2 cups (400 ml)
Water 4 cups (800 ml)
Fine salt 1.5 tsp.
Vegetable oil 1 tbsp. l.

Cooking method

  • This porridge, boiled in water, is delicious on its own and can be a good full breakfast. But we also like it as a side dish for meat, poultry or fish.
  • Cooking time is spent almost 2 times less than in a multicooker or on the stove. The bottom does not burn and does not bake. The porridge turns out well boiled, without grains. It does not spread on a plate, since it is quite thick.
  • Cooking.
  • Rinse the groats thoroughly in many waters. Throw in a colander. Place the pressure cooker in the pot.
  • Bring the water to an almost boil in a kettle (90 degrees), on the stove or in the pressure cooker itself on the “Warm up” program (leave the valve open).
  • Pour the cereal with water, salt, stir, add 1 tbsp. l. oils.
  • Close the cover. Cook on the "Rice" program, pressure - 3 time - 20 minutes.
  • Hold on "Heating" for another 5 minutes.
  • Switch off the device. Forcibly release the pressure. Mix the porridge. Serve immediately or darken with the lid closed for another 5 minutes.
  • Serve porridge with meat, poultry, fish or as an independent dish.

The dish is designed for

3-4 servings

Cooking program:

A spoonful of butter in each plate greatly improves the taste of porridge, but butter can be replaced with any sauce from fish, meat, poultry.

Groats, if desired, can be poured with cold water.
However, I try to stick to the algorithm for cooking porridge on the stove. You can read more about this here:

Thank you very much for the recipe! Sometimes I have to cook porridge in water when the children are at a temperature. Elena, does the porridge squeak on your teeth with scales? And then I cooked a couple of times ... it was not an ace. We love porridge on stenstantsii like milk rice.

Elena, does the porridge squeak with scales on your teeth? And then I cooked a couple of times ... it was not an ace. We love porridge in consistency like milk rice.
Lesska, we also do not like this porridge not steamed. With a decrease in the cooking time (12-15 minutes), it did not turn out as soft as desired.
Try the suggested option. I think you will like it. You can hold it on "Heating" a little more (10 minutes, for example).
Delicious porridge!
Oh, I just bought some wheat, which means that we will have breakfast with my husband with this porridge
Anna, delicious breakfast to you!
Shelena, today shone ... delicious! I did pressure on Rice for 2, 15 minutes, then mixed it, added oil and heated it for an hour ... fabulous!
Olya, I'm glad you like it. "Warming up" for 1 hour makes any porridge tasty.
And my porridge on the heating dries up at the bottom.
Marina, it depends on the time that the appliance is on "Heating". It won't dry out in 10-15 minutes. If you decided to keep the porridge longer on this program in advance, then add more water when cooking. And dryness, for sure, will not.
I prepared it today. Delicious and completely relaxed. Thanks for the reminder of the delicious porridge
Lena, cook to your health!
Helen, yesterday I also made porridge according to your recipe for a side dish with my cabbage rolls. Only I kept it on the heating for a longer time. It was delicious.
