Fig and Camembert Pie

Ingredients

Finished puff pastry 250 grams
Camembert cheese (President) 125 gram
Fig 3 pieces
Egg 1 piece
Honey 1-2 tablespoons
Fresh thyme 3 twigs

Cooking method

  • Wash the figs and slice them lengthwise. Cut the camembert into thin slices.
  • Rinse the thyme, dry it, separate the leaves from the stems.
  • Roll out the dough into 2 rectangles about 15x20 cm in size.
  • Place one rectangle on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Place on top of the cheese slices, leaving the edges free, about 1 cm.
  • Beat the egg lightly, brush the edges of the dough. Cover with a second layer.
  • Pinch the edges of the cake, brush the surface with the remaining egg.
  • Arrange the fig slices on top so that they overlap slightly.

  • Sprinkle with thyme leaves. Put in an oven preheated to 200C for 20 minutes.
  • Pour honey into a fireproof bowl, put in a saucepan with boiling water and heat,
  • without boiling. Grease the finished cake with hot honey. Serve warm.

Also stole it in the bookmarks. And I also want to share - in such pies, figs can still be sprinkled with a little cumin. For me, the combination of caraway seeds with figs turned out to be very attractive.
