Armenian lavash

Ingredients

Flour 500 g
Hot water 220-250 ml (different flour takes differently)
Salt 1.5 tsp.

Cooking method

  • 1. Dissolve salt (1.5 tsp) in hot water (220-250 ml) and add flour (500 g) to knead an elastic dough (like on dumplings).
  • 2. Let the dough rest for 25-30 minutes and tearing off small pieces, roll them out to a thickness of 1-1.5 mm, so that their size is equal to the bottom of your pan.
  • 3. Put a dry (no oil) frying pan on the fire and warm it up well.
  • 4. Thoroughly preheat the pan, put the rolled pancake on it.
  • 5. As soon as the dough has bubbled and began to brown, turn it over to the other side and fry.
  • 6. Remove the lavash from the frying pan and put it in a plastic bag or put it on the board, sprinkling it with water and cover with a towel. You can eat right away, or you can freeze it in a bag.
  • BON APPETIT.

In the freezer in a cellophane bag safely lies a week (I haven't tried it longer), then you just need to defrost it. And without a freezer up to two days, but also in cellophane.

Yura, is flour added to hot water? If so, how hot should it be?

I take water 60-80 * C, to mix it with flour, my hand suffered. But, I know that some of them are brewed with boiling water, and they do it just fine.

Made half a portion. There is not enough water, I would need 250 ml for my flour. water. Now I have 8 pita bread !!!

We must try too. Once I used to make lavash according to a recipe from another author, so it turned out to be thick, although it rolled thinly. And yours are thin, cute ... :) We will try.

I love Armenian lavash. I make all sorts of sandwiches, kababs out of it ... They love mine very much. Even my daughter tried to make shawarma from lavash, she is 11 years old, it worked))

Either the flour is wrong, or the hands ... Like I added 250 ml of water, but the dough didn't roll out. The cakes turned out to be rubber, they don't chew a fig ...
But I do not despair, next time I will try to add more water than indicated in the recipe. Because the dough was cool after all, but you probably need softer
