Mirabel, I think that you can stew in this rice cooker on milk rice, it should be a delicate mode (otherwise the milk will run away), which means it is suitable for stewing.
Mirabel
Thank you!

The rice cooker cannot give anything special, it just cooks rice, works as a sensor program in a multicooker, that is, until the liquid boils off (time is not set) and switches to heating

Just about, I have such a program in the Redmond M90 cartoon, the water boils away and the cartoon switches to heating. Something I don't understand the point of buying a rice cooker for the sake of one function, because it also takes up a lot of space in the kitchen. For me, it’s better to take a good, functional, slow cooker and cook everything in it than a separate rice cooker, double boiler, bread maker, yogurt maker, etc.

A multicooker is the best option if there is not enough space, in the country, in a dormitory, on a business trip, it soars, of course, but not like a double boiler, fries, but not like a cast-iron frying pan, bakes, but not like an oven, more and more "average", if I may say so. But here everyone chooses for himself what is better, what is more comfortable. Sometimes it is very important that in the morning she squeaked early that the porridge is ready, or in the summer, when you walk with the child and she cooks soup in the heat ...

My electric stove burned out in a couple of days at the most difficult time for me. The cost of the new one was equal to 10 of my salaries. How the electric kettle, toaster, egg cooker, deep fryer (I cooked broth in it) and a large aluminum electric frying pan helped me out then.
Now I buy only individual devices, trying so that in the event of a breakdown one can replace the other, because there are no breakdowns in time and one trouble does not come, although they certainly take up space ...

.... more and more "mediocre",

Sorry to get into the conversation, but by such I can't go through) It's not true!
Apparently, you do not have this technique or are not lucky with the existing one.

I have three of them: an old Redmond RMC-M10, ZELMER and little Philips 2-liter, a new toy.
Everyone likes their own according to the size of the kitchen and wallet. Do not be offended, please, here everyone is right in their own way
RepeShock

I'm not offended, of course.
It's just that a successful MV makes you fall in love with yourself forever, and an unsuccessful one can turn you away from using such a technique.
Judging by my personal experience.

Neither the wallet nor the size of the kitchen have anything to do with this, sorry.
brendabaker
Here I FULLY AGREE with you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But my love is called a slow cooker (that's really, really, to each his own).
Sorry again, I didn't want to hook anyone
RepeShock

Oksana, what an apology?!?! This is a forum, for this it exists to exchange experiences and share impressions.

All right
brendabaker
Well, actually, yes.

RepeShockEach has its own truth. For me, too - for each device its own functionality. And - yes, I believe that a good oven (for example ...) bakes and bakes better than even a good slow cooker. Similarly - and other devices.
brendabaker
A multicooker cannot replace the oven, and fried meat in a cast-iron pan and in Teflon tastes completely different.
But the slow cooker !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello girls!
I want to buy a rice cooker with 8 programs - white rice, brown quick rice, whole rice, rice in milk. soup, baking, steaming. and automatic keeping warm.
Tell me, can you stew on it?
Once in a multicooker, the stewing program is often called SOUP / STEWING, then I think that you can stew soup on the program

And I got used to doing * frying * without butter for borscht. I cut onions, peppers, carrots and beets. I slightly salt and pour about a glass of a mixture of water and tomato juice.
When the program finishes, it seals the vegetables a little more to the bottom and they give a delicious baked spirit.
I add half a glass of tomato juice to them and let them stand for 5 minutes, then stir and put them in the borscht.
My dad is an experienced core, so I remove all butter from food.
Just as good on fast days.

Controversial method and rationale. Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the human body. Beta-carotene is a fat-soluble substance. In combination with fats, it is better absorbed by the body. Otherwise, it is in transit, practically without exerting any positive influence. About fats. In the Mediterranean countries, the rate of heart disease is extremely low, but the consumption of olive oil is high. Moreover, vegetable oils do not contain the notorious cholesterol.

Here I will draw your attention to the books of Caldwell Esselstin Jr. * Super Heart * and Colin and Thomas Campbell on fundamental and multi-year Chinese research and their findings on * heart-healthy * oils and the Mediterranean food pyramid

You know, statistics are on the side of the majority, that is, millions of people. And the conclusions at different times are different, often contradicting each other. But in any case, beta-carotene from carrots will not be absorbed without "healthy" fats. This is how nature created. And I think that the above authors are not smarter than her.

There it is, as you write, and core research and surveys and results from the rejection of all types of added fats and animal foods.
After all, you can add olives, seeds, nuts to food, it is closer to nature than oil.
And here, again, to each his own, there is a saying * that the Russian is in favor, then the German is in death *
Some people just thrive on one type of food, while others are harmful.

Girls, help with advice,
We looked at the inexpensive PANASONIC Sr-DF 101 rice cooker.

Can anyone have this model, how is it for cooking
Rice for sushi,
Japanese rice GOHAN,
Brown rice is long and round-grain.
I am also interested in buckwheat on the water,
Oatmeal, Pearl barley, Wheat ..
Meatloaf
And where to get it with the English labeling of the buttons, because the translation of the type of MILK Porridge and BAKERY somehow annoys me.
Thanks in advance
Kleopa
Girls, tell me. I am looking for a baby for milk porridge for mom on her birthday (I ordered the same one as I want - radish 02, but that is not on sale).
Main features: small - up to 1.6 liters, with milk porridge.
Can anyone have any ideas? I saw Shteba at 1.8 and 0.9, but there are only 2 modes: cooking and heating. What if the milk porridge won't work there?
Or maybe there are more options. Tell me who saw it.
Tanuhka
Girls, tell me, is this a rice cooker? The ad says a thermos for rice. I wrote to the seller, is it possible to cook rice in it, he replied that it was a thermos for rice ... I ask you to write what kind of model, so that I need to read it or not, in response there is silence.
Risovarka. How to cook.
Risovarka. How to cook.
Mirabel
Tatyana, Maybe a photo so skat, ask the facade.
if there are 2 control buttons, then exactly a rice cooker
The shape of the bottom of the saucepan and the spoon are exactly like a rice cooker.
Tanuhka
Mirabel, so I look, well, it cannot be a thermos. And I ask the seller for a photo, I see there is a book there, silence. He replied to only one message, wrote, is it an electric rice thermos ?! that's all.

Can someone help determine what kind of model it is from the photo ?, it's in my city, but the seller himself is not a local, call him .... I wrote again now, I'm waiting ...
Mirabel

this is the electric rice thermos
yes, he most likely does not know exactly what he is selling.
We often call it a multicooker, a double boiler, a pressure cooker, a rice cooker, and so on and so forth.
But outwardly, this is a rice cooker! I personally really need a thing.
Tanuhka
We now have a lot of bars / restaurants for sale, many establishments are being closed / reassigned. Probably everyone is throwing off the equipment, from the owners who may have simply forgotten the appointment and to the service personnel themselves ... Mirabel, he has 3pcs in his photo, if you want, I'll call you, I'll write you what it is, I can take you too, we can get a discount for wholesale)
Just saw you from Belgium? Then the problem with the transfer)))

He finally answered me, this is Narita bs1616-professional equipment, I read it, Rice cooker / thermos, now I think I need it or not?)))

so she's probably also big. Why do you need .. Look for something suitable for you on sale and use it to your health.

I can take you too,
Thank you! We have a lot of this stuff and different volumes.
Tanuhka
No, she didn't, it's bullshit, like a thermos for ready-made rice. And it's not clear, he writes 5.6 liters, but in the description 20 liters! I need a little one, can you advise? Thank you
Mirabel
well, right!
And to advise ... It seems to me that they differ only in volume, although probably the coverage is also different
Only one thing I can advise is to choose a not quite small volume
I have this

quite happy with her
And I cook cereals and pilaf in it .. well, let's just say I bake even sometimes, I dabble .. But she copes with all this very well.

Girls, take them into your ranks! On the occasion I bought a cheap Rotex RMC301 rice cooker, the condition is practically new. I bought porridge for my dad, he is unlikely to cook anything else. I tested it at home - I boiled rice, it stuck to the bowl and it turned out to be very dry. But I cooked half of Mstakan, perhaps a small volume. I cooked Arnautka's cereal for a whole Mstakan, and it too was slightly fried to the bottom. But I foresaw this and immediately after the end of the program I poured a couple of tablespoons of water into it, turned off the heating and did not open the lid for about 20 minutes. After that, the porridge more or less moved away from the bottom of the bowl.
But with cereals it is at least more or less clear, but program 2 is a complete mystery to me. This is a type of program Soup (or porridge). I poured water and watched what happened. For the first half hour, she simply heated the water to 85 degrees and that's it, then it boiled. I thought that it would turn off automatically, but after an hour of boiling, I turned it off forcibly.
Today in the morning I accidentally found this topic, I read it from the very beginning, now on page 19. By prog 2 I realized about shutdown, but it is completely incomprehensible that half an hour heating at 85 degrees is completely incomprehensible. What for? And what can I do on this program?
By the way, the bowl in this rice cooker is fig, it is the coating, I feel that it will quickly peel off. And now the sticking of the porridge is annoying, it's dad who will tear it off. A question for connoisseurs: how can you avoid the porridge sticking to the bottom of the bowl?

Risovarka. How to cook.

svetta, so porridge is porridge. Oatmeal, sir))

Anh, I realized about porridge porridge, this type of regime implies a dry product without water evaporation. I didn't understand why the regime works this way! Why heat for half an hour and then just let it boil?
Mirabel
Svetochka! with your purchase!
The pot is very good, but you have to adapt to it! What cereals will dad cook? not dairy?
The basic rule of the rice cooker is not to use cl oil, it burns terribly there
further, when cooking rice and other cereals, grease the bottom slightly with oil and then cereal and water, mix and go!
the proportions of cereal and water are also important. I take a little less water than 1 to 2. And after I switch to Heating, I immediately turn it off. Stand a little and ready. Yes, it often sticks to the bottom, but somehow everything is scraped off without a gap.
a couple of spoons of water, turned off the heating - Yes! that's right!
The second program does not boil for me and does not turn off on its own. what to do on it? like milk porridge is cooked on it ...
or stew and bake bread, etc. - at the beginning of the program Cooking and then it switches to Heating itself
I have a very good coating of the bowl and even what is fried comes off normally
I strongly advise you to read this topic, there are a lot of practical tips
