Porridge oatmeal portioned in a water bath in a pressure cooker Oursson

Ingredients

ON MILK
Long-cooked hercules 0.5-0.7 measuring cup
Milk is cold 2 measuring cups
Salt, sugar taste
Butter 10 grams to taste
ON WATER
Long-cooked hercules 0.5-0.7 measuring cup
Pure cold water 1.5 measuring cups
Fresh strawberries (from the freezer) 5-7 berries
Salt, sugar taste
Butter 10 grams to taste

Cooking method

  • Put rolled oats, salt, sugar in dishes, plastic, glass jars, pour milk or water, mix gently with a spoon, add a piece of butter.
  • Add strawberries or other fruit-berries to your taste to the porridge on the water, you do not need to defrost it.
  • Cover the jars with lids on top, I did not tighten the lids, but only covered them so that the condensate would not get into the porridge.
  • Pour cold water into the saucepan of the pressure cooker up to half the height of the jars, put the jars.
  • Close the lid of the pressure cooker, expose STEAM mode, pressure 0, time 30-40 minutes, enable START.

  • Comment:
  • Milk porridge and porridge on the water are cooked differently at the same time. The porridge is well boiled in water, but edible in milk, but a little hard, that is, milk porridge takes more time to cook. Therefore, I recommend setting the time for cooking porridge at once 40 minutes.
  • I recommend pouring water into a saucepan up to half the height of the jars, the jars will be in additional heat.
  • As you can see in the photo, the milk does not boil over and does not run out of the jars. The porridge is prepared due to the absorption of milk and water by the cereal, expands like in a milk cooker.
  • The pan contains 3 jars of 400 ml. , which is just one full portion of ready-made porridge in terms of quantity.

Note

So there was a method of cooking portioned porridge in different versions, which will suit several family members at once.
The porridge tastes like a milk cooker, which I liked more than just boiled porridge in a saucepan

We must try, all hands do not reach. My oats are not particularly fond of, but you have to bungle yourself. Romochka, Thank you.

Tanyusha, you can also adapt other cereals for this option, if everyone needs the porridge at once.We shared this way today territory jars, and each ate his own porcay - I'm on the water, my mother in milk. And I really liked it, just 2 in 1 turned out

And especially if you set the timer in the evening

Tanyusha, Thank you!

Cool !! And under the cartoon, can you somehow adapt the recipe? Maybe try to "stew"? Or on the "soup" ... We need to experiment ...
Admin

I cooked "ON STEAM", which means that in your multicooker you can cook in this mode (double boiler), it is originally intended for cooking in water, on steam. And then this is a strong mode, where water boils, and you can cook on a stand (double boiler) or in a water bath.

It's funny! One in the morning buckwheat, the second - oatmeal, and ordered the third rice, and from the hostess, VOIL, in 40 minutes everything is ready and without unnecessary gestures! Super. Soon they will climb with their feet on their necks, and the option is really cool! Thank you!

After I cooked rice porridge for 2 people in the classical way, I realized that a 5-liter bowl for one person is a lot.
Today I cooked a portion of millet for one in this way. Very convenient - and you don't need to wash the bowl. Worried a little about the plastic, but everything seems to be fine - I used a plastic can for the microwave.
Admin

To your health!

A 5-liter bowl always helps out, even when you need to put the jar inside and for the lid to close. A lot is not enough!

Wonderful recipe, thanks. I have a question about plastic cups, what should they be so that they do not melt during cooking, or does it not matter?

Cook to your health!
Cups are simple, ordinary, for storing food. The top photo even shows a label on the lid. You need to use dishes (plastic, glass) that are not afraid of hot steam, water and do not deform during cooking.

What a good cup idea, Tan!
I love oatmeal, but I don’t cook it.
Now you don't have to worry - he will run away, he won't run away ... I'll do it with milk!
You just need to rummage in the jars. I don't have plastic ones, but glass ones are heaps. So, you can safely cook. Thank you, Tanyush! Your "bath" idea will be very useful!

Tatyana, really liked the recipe. Only I have a Unit pressure cooker and the pressure is already set there. I'm thinking, what time to put it? On prog. Steamer 15 to 45 min. can be exhibited. What to do with the valve - close?
Admin
Natusya, I cooked like this:
Close the lid of the pressure cooker, expose STEAM mode, pressure 0, time 30-40 minutes, enable START.
Pressure 0 means open valve - no pressure

To your health! I hope everything works out
Natusya
Tatyana, thanks, I will definitely do it.

Well, how everything is thought out by Tatiana, simple and tasty! And I hurried to buy a little Filia for cereals and yoghurt (my husband doesn't eat, but I alone in 5 liters. Orsone - not out of hand). And here and wash a minimum, and the porridge is different, and you can immediately take to work. I came here by link, after a charming omelet, and again - a discovery!
Admin

Larissa, THANK YOU!
You can put such porridge in portions and put one jar in a pan, it's not scary - it will cook it Correctly, you can take two jars at once, and take one to work - a wonderful lunch and a way out

Tatyana, well, a very interesting recipe! The idea with portioned jars is great! And the option on the water is very relevant for dieters.
Thank you so much for the recipe!

Tatyan, and I did it in faceted glasses, it turned out great. Covered with a silicone lid that stretches to fit the size of the can.
Admin

Natasha, faceted glasses are a small container, and the glass is thick - in this form nothing will happen to porridge and glasses

Now there are two servings of friendship porridge in glass jars. We are waiting!

Tatyana, thanks for the idea. Today I experienced it. The husband got sick on the water. And to me for the company on milk. I cooked in a multicooker, on the "Steam" program in ordinary half-liter cans. Covered the top with foil. The idea was that the workpieces are sterilized for 40 minutes in boiling water, which means that you can cook the porridge. I'm happy with the result. Now I put it on the morning, on a delayed start. I will compare the result.
Admin

Natasha, to your health and your husband!
There are many options, but in any case, the porridge turns out and it turns out tasty - even steamed

Natalya, you won’t say, did you put pressure in the multicooker? Without it, the water will not pump out through the valve? And pour a lot of water?

in the multicooker you put pressure

Olya, in the multicooker, the pressure is not set, this is not a pressure cooker.
Pour cold water into the multicooker pan up to half the height of the jars, put the jars. If it boils, you can open the lid and add more boiling water. It is boiling water from a kettle, so as not to suspend the cooking process. And the process of readiness in a multicooker is easier to check, for which you just take the porridge with a spoon and try it on the bite.

Tanya! Thank you! I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for the idea of rolling up borscht-soups with lids. I read it in some forum thread, and now it's my salvation! In general, all of your recipes are amazing. I recently came to this forum. Now I read it before bed as a fiction book!

Olya, Thanks for the kind words

Recently bought this multicooker pressure cooker. I am mastering.
I was interested in the idea of portioned porridge.
I'm going to buy plastic containers for this case. I ask for help, tell me which ones to choose better, what markings should they be? Maybe they should be some kind of special? What lids?
There are a huge number of containers of different shapes and sizes in stores.
So far I have decided that I want tall ones, such as glasses, about 0.5 liters in volume.

If you got into the wrong topic with a question, then forgive me, send it to the right address.
Admin
Take a look at my containers of porridge, in the first post of the recipe

Porridge oatmeal portioned in a water bath in a pressure cooker Oursson

The most common plastic utensils that are suitable for cooking and storing food. The dishes should be labeled "food grade plastic" something like that written.
Choose the size of the dishes to fit in the pan. The volume of glasses depends on how much ready-made porridge is needed for a meal. I prefer cans at one time to eat hot porridge. Cooks quickly, so you can cook a hot breakfast several times.
If you need a large portion of side dish porridge (for example, buckwheat), then I cook it directly in a saucepan on porridge mode.

Admin, Tatyana, I just looked at them. I could not see all the inscriptions on the lid.
I thought that since I was planning to buy it, I would immediately buy the "correct" vessel.
Admin

The correct vessel can be any, only that the label is "food grade plastic"
In principle, ceramic dishes are also suitable, glass is thick.
venera19
I have ceramic pots, but they are pot-bellied, two pieces will fit at most. It is advisable to cook for three.

And a little more off topic. Homemade frozen dumplings were not cooked in a slow cooker? Maybe in pots or cups too?
