: sorry: Thanks for the tip.

Girls, owners of the Prima grater, please tell me.
I want to buy a Prima grater, but I don't know if it is worth buying a 10mm insert.
Tell me how necessary it is, what exactly is the third on it? I have a Borner grater classic inserts 1.6-3.5-7 seemed to be enough, but suddenly I'm wrong.
10mm. was not, therefore I can not understand whether I need it or not?
And yet, from separate graters, I have a BABY-GRATER (very happy with it)
Advise what else to buy? Which are vital
How much do I understand the Roco grater is identical to the 3.5mm insert? Or not?
Mila_zp
I rarely use the 10 mm insert. I don’t make fries, and at 7 mm it will probably be good.
But in the summer I dried a melon in an electric dryer - the very thing, it turned out vermicelli.
Roco and 3,5 are different. Roko cuts with such "twine" - there are no clear rectangular edges, as in insert 3.5.
gala10
The 10 mm insert was used 1 time. Grilled French fries. At the same time, she severely injured her finger. After that I bought a Philips 1388 electric vegetable cutter with a fries disc.

That is, the size is the same, the only difference is in the edges?
Can you advise which one you need from separate graters?
vera_111
I often use roco (on roco the size is about 2.5 mm, it is thinner than the 3.5 mm insert), and if you rub in both directions, then the stripes are even thinner and softer.
in second place, karli, baby - for some reason did not like it, played with a waffle - and abandoned.
I use ten once a week somewhere - for fries, I think it would be useful for freezing, but I don't have a freezer.
Paul @
And what is most convenient for salads? For example, for kohlrabi, celery (tubers)?
Maybe somewhere you can look at the pictures as tinder different graters?
Taia
Paul @ Everything is so individual, all these inserts. Only during use do you begin to understand what exactly you need. Here, earlier in the topic, girls posted photos of all cuts.
I have a Trend grater, many did not advise buying insert 1.6, but I like it. The BABY-GRATER grater cannot be used in any way, although many praise it. I used the 10 insert only a couple of times, but I would not refuse it.
1oksi1
and I often use a 10mm insert (only with a fruit holder!). I cut potatoes on it for frying, in soups and when I gotta potatoes for a kid, it turns out very quickly, and not as small as on the 7mm insert, so I like
Paul @
Already decide on the inserts.
It remains to understand what is needed from individual graters.
Nikasa
Probably, it really all depends on what you cook more often. For example, I use the 10 mm insert more often than others - potatoes for regular frying (not fries) and stewing, in soup (after cutting the potatoes across), vegetables for stews. We do not like to grind, this is not a salad ...
We use separate graters every day a waffle - my children now eat vegetables !!! Cucumbers, radishes for garnish - always three on it.
And BABY-GRATER didn’t go, only rubbed ginger into tea on it.
Venta
I use the 10 mm insert only for potatoes, I don’t make fries, but fry is the thing. For cutting into soups, it's a bit large for me, although who likes it. If only it could be cut into cubes on it, but alas ...
Paul @
Rocko needs to be taken, that's understandable.
PIZZA GRAYTER and KARLI are both irreplaceable or can you do without some?
Venta
I do not have one yet (something of mine "while" is alarming).I don’t rub pizza, but I usually cut everything on the main inserts, but for cheese and a regular grater I’ll go off and in general somehow the grater with plastic teeth confuses me, the teeth should be pitiful and that's it) Carly girls praise for the cabbage, they say fluff , but again I get by with the main ones (I cut the cabbage into salads smaller), but for what other purposes I may need it I haven't thought of yet))) Rocko running - and in Korean and even carrots for fish under marinade (stewed with onions) I adapted to it - and beautifully and stews at the moment. I really like the waffle for decoration and summer salads.
gala10
And I didn't really like Carly for the cabbage. I rub on a shallow insert without a knife. And onions in thin rings, and tomatoes in slices. And 1.6 carrots - in a salad.
Paul @
I can’t find normal pictures to see the difference between PIZZA GRAYTER and KARLI

Oh. Thanks for the links, only I wanted to see the differences between the already grated products.
I would like to understand what grater is tinder. For some reason they seem similar to me, only one with plastic and the other with metal.

Thank you very much. This is what I was looking for.
Paul @
And one more question! How is it more suitable from graters for kohlrabi cabbage?
sima12
for me, for kohlrabi - - ROKO

I'll take Rocko. Pizza too. And Carly I don't know yet, how much I understood only cabbage is rubbed on her. I also love cabbage, but I don't know if it is worth buying a grater just for it.
Mila_zp
Winter hard cabbage on karli - soft and juicy! - if the salad is made from fresh. Other graters do not cut thinly, they leave the cabbage harsh, it seems to me. And on it you can "artistically" chop salads - in the upper left corner, cucumbers, radishes:

Girls have never made potato pancakes, so I want to try, please tell me which insert is better for me to grate potatoes
Crochet
Lenochka, I'm for potato pancakes on the advice of the girls I rub the potatoes on a baby bread, and I rub half the potatoes on the shallow side, and the other half on the large ...
Slastena
Inna tomorrow I'll try to rub on a baby
Yani
Since the question about the baby grater has come, is it easy to grate on it? And in time? Well, for potato pancakes, for example, grate potatoes? And do you need to use the holder or without it?
gala10
Without a holder, none of them is possible. Plastic peels off your hands - be healthy!
And rubbing on them all is easy!
svet777
: girl_claping: Lenul, I made potato pancakes a couple of times and rubbed them on pizza, we also liked our daughter, here for an amateur, as anyone, bigger, smaller
Slastena
Thank you girls! Sveta on pizza this is something new: girl-th: the experiment needs to be done
Mila_zp
Why new? In the original, this grater is called Rösti by Burner. This is a recipe for "rösti" potatoes - grated potatoes, an egg, a little flour, salt, pepper.

I'm rubbing Pizza without a holder.
Do not throw your slippers: Baby has been in the package for a year already - for some reason, his hands do not reach him. I promise I will improve!

And I like to grate sausage on Pizza straight into pizza for dough ... I don’t bother with slicing, just rub!

Lena, at the dawn of my Berner ownership, I made potato pancakes, or rather, non-panned pancakes, overcooked, really terribly, on Roko rubbed. I do not like the small crumbs, which are usually made on them, such hedgehogs came out

Personally, I don't really like rubbing on a baby, it's kind of clingy. All add. I rub with graters in a glove, very comfortable, without a glove there were injuries, but on the main frame with inserts - only with a holder, there I am afraid of one type of teeth and a blade
Arnica
And I really like Baby, the shavings are so fluffy. And a carrot or apple on the shallow side is generally super!
I gave an ordinary grater a long time ago to a friend at the dacha.

nooo ... I'm afraid of Bebik and rarely use it, but he tries to bite me every time, and Carly also chopped off solidly the last time, I'm regenerating now

I've been too lazy to get a big one lately, so I rub the carrots on a baby with a fruit holder. At first it was inconvenient, especially wiping off the leftovers, but now I have adapted, it turns out quickly and conveniently

I have these Victorinoxes:

Grater Burner (2)
But I didn’t like the first one on the left, or it seemed dull, or it cuts off very thinly and not always bumpy potatoes can be easily cleaned, or my hands are crooked, in general, I donated her daughter-in-law, to whom, by the way, she is very at work like. But the second one is AWESOME! - my favorite, I took 3 of these for myself in reserve and for all my relatives as gifts. The third is similar in appearance to the second, but cuts off the type of straw. I finally didn’t like it, especially after Berner's graters, threads of some uneven thickness come out, and it is lying around. But the last one, or the first one on the right, is also very cool, I really, really like it. called: For tomatoes and kiwi. But I cut off the skin from the cucumbers with it, and thinly cut the skin off the apple, well, cut it off the tomato for testing, everything is OK, though we somehow eat tomatoes with the skin.

Girls, vegetable peelers appeared in the Victorinox online store, such as in the photo - on the far right. Who needs it - order!

I cut white cabbage on the thinnest knifeless one, but red cabbage has coarser leaves, so it is on Karli. I've never gotten such fluffy cabbage salads like Berner's!
Elven
Aha, thank you! I have white cabbage
Crust
Girls, I, too, have been wrapped for several days. Class !! A pleasure to cook now.
All salads are so beautiful.
And I liked their peeler too.especially the function of rubbing garlic, it differs from other similar ones.
But questions immediately arose:
How to plant cabbage on the holder? No matter how I tried, it falls apart on my leaves.
How to put on a tray correctly?
If I put it horizontally, then there is a gap between the grater and the tray, all the vegetables fly out there. She threw a carrot on my husband, he was sitting on the other side of the table
