It is difficult to say at what time of the year Divnogorsk is more attractive; in the summer, when, with the clear eyes of his new high-rise buildings, he admires the heroic chest of the strongman Yenisei through the tops of age-old pines; in winter, covered with a frosty haze, with trench streets dug in deep snow, going one above the other along the steep Yenisei bank.
The streets are connected by stairs and paths, along which you can ride from school. True, you won't go far on a sled here, or rather, you will go very far along the steep slope of the coast. Better not to mess with sledges.
And what is our main staircase! It is now also passing through a snow trench and is not all finished yet, but when you look at our stairs from above, you involuntarily recall Odessa. Only the Odessa staircase cannot be compared with ours. Let Divnogorskaya rests not on the Black Sea, but on the Yenisei, but still ours is better!
And you should have looked beyond the Yenisei! The slopes of the Sayan spurs drop straight into the river. And all the snow that falls during the winter will not be able to cover the fanged granite rocks sticking out from the snow-covered coast with either ancient colonnades or the ruins of watchtowers. And on the highest and most inaccessible rocks, red flags fly. These are local rock climbers and famous Krasnoyarsk "stolbists" demonstrate their skills.
There are almost no trees on the steep slopes. Only the most tenacious of them here and there in a chain, like climbers, climb along the bottom of the steep creeks of the opposite shore. Yes, on the very ridge of the coastal ridge, like the rearing stubble of some antediluvian animal lying along the coast, the taiga grows, shining through the frosty sky.
The Yenisei under the ice is quiet and unrecognizable modest. In six winter months, it carries water in less than one spring month. But the Siberian hero becomes formidable and indomitable, throwing off the ice. Striving to meet the beautiful Angara, he irresistibly destroys the granite of the ridges, making his way to his friend.
Mighty Yenisei, who knows no equal in the Union. Having originated in the ice of the Altai and Sayan Mountains at an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level, it aimlessly carried up to 17,000 cubic meters of water per second into the cold waves of the Kara Sea. This is twice as much as the glorified beauty Volga! No wonder the Yenisei in Tungus is called Ioanesi, which means "Big River".
So for centuries, the Yenisei, who knows no barriers, has carelessly rolled its waters over 4100 kilometers - from the borders of sunny Mongolia to the ice of the Arctic Ocean. But a whole cascade of hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 30 million kilowatts with an output of 160 billion kilowatt-hours per year can power the bogatyr Yenisei if he is forced to rotate the turbines.
The shores of the mighty Yenisei are marvelous, having laid a channel for itself through the ridges and spurs of the Altai-Sayan mountain range. The whole world knows the miracle of nature - Krasnoyarsk Pillars. Looking at the shores, you do not know what to admire, what to marvel more: the power of the bulging chest of the hero Yenisei, who broke the stubbornness of the granite of the mountains, decorated with snow-white multi-deck motor ships and girded with long rafts of the forest; Whether the grandeur of the naked, waist-deep rocks in the water, humbly bowing their proud necks over the river, or the mountains rearing to the sky, covered with taiga to match the Yenisei - the same mighty and vigorous, trunk to trunk, crown to crown.
And, looking at all this, you involuntarily exclaim:
- Well, the power is Russian! Only in Siberia is it possible to see this ...
We are so accustomed to the sweeping Siberian scale that we stopped noticing their grandeur. “The greatest in the world”, “The largest” - have become common expressions for us, and often we do not even really think about the meaning of these words. The largest river is the Yenisei, the greatest hydroelectric power station is Krasnoyarskaya on the Yenisei, the most powerful hydro turbines - with a capacity of 508,000 kilowatts - are Krasnoyarsk ones, the strongest cable crane - with a lifting capacity of 100 tons, with a span of more than a kilometer - works at the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric station, the greatest ship lift is built on the Yenisei.
The height of the dam of the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station reaches 120 meters - much higher than the spire of the Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg.
The Krasnoyarsk HPP will generate 20 billion kilowatt-hours a year. This is almost the same as all the power plants of the Soviet Union produced in 1934. 500 cubic meters of water per second will be consumed by the turbines of each unit of the hydroelectric station. This is equal to the flow of a river like the Don. And the Krasnoyarsk Territory itself, along which the Yenisei flows? In the North, it extends to Cape Chelyuskin - the northernmost point of Eurasia, with its polar inhabitants: polar bears, arctic foxes, reindeer and walruses, and in the south it reaches latitudes inhabited by subtropical inhabitants: roe deer, musk deer, deer. The territory of this region will host states such as Germany, France, Italy and Spain!
When Chekhov first saw the Yenisei on his way to Sakhalin in June 1890, he was struck by its greatness and irrepressible strength. Looking at the great Siberian river, he wrote:
“... The banks of the Yenisei are cramped. Low waves overtake each other, crowding and describing spiral circles, and it seems strange that this strongman has not yet washed away the banks, has not drilled the bottom. Krasnoyarsk on this bank. ... ... and on that one - the mountains that reminded me of the Caucasus, the same smoky, dreamy. I stood and thought: what a complete, intelligent and courageous life will illuminate these shores in time! .. "
And this brave, intelligent life came to the Yenisei banks. Ten years ago, at the Shumikhinsky alignment, fifty kilometers from Krasnoyarsk, the first volunteer builders appeared, and a boulder was thrown into the Yenisei with a daring inscription: "Submit, Yenisei! .."
The builders pitched tents at the foot of the Marvelous Mountains and named their village Divnogorsk.
Divnogorsk residents have long since moved from their tents to comfortable four- and five-story houses. The settlement of Divnogorsk became a district town. The streets are covered with asphalt and concrete.
A marvelous city running down a steep bank to a mighty river, a bottomless sky over the Marvelous Mountains, stitched with curly stitches of aircraft tracks.
