Banana cookies with chocolate

Ingredients

Wheat flour 240 g
Hercules flakes ½ tbsp.
Salt ½ tsp
Sugar 1 tbsp.
Soft butter 110 g
Rast. butter or margarine 60 g
Light brown sugar ½ tbsp.
Soda 1 tsp
Very ripe medium banana 1 PC.
(1/2 cup pulp)
Vanilla extract (vanilla sugar) 1 tbsp. l.
Chocolate crumbs
(1 tbsp. is 1 bar of chocolate 200 g)
3 tbsp.

Cooking method

  • Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  • Mix flour with rolled oats, salt and soda.
  • Beat butter and vegetable oil, add sugar and continue beating for another 1 minute, add mashed banana pulp and vanilla, beat well.
  • Stir flour into the butter mixture, then chocolate chips. The dough will be quite soft.
  • Put the dough on a sheet with a teaspoon in rounded tubercles at a distance of about 4 cm from each other. Bake for 12 minutes. When baked, the cookies spread like a pancake.
  • Cool the cookies on the sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer them with a spatula to the wire rack and let them cool completely. Store in a jar, otherwise it will lose crunchiness.
  • I used 1.5 cups of chocolate chips and 1.5 cups of chopped walnuts in the filling - very tasty!
  • Alternatively, you can put 1.5 glasses of shock. crumbs and a choice of 1.5 cups dried cherries, banana chips, white chocolate, M & M's, etc.

The cookies turned out to be delicious, completely without a banana flavor (I don't like it in baking) with a specific bittersweet flavor of chocolate.
BUT
1. The finished biscuits were not crispy at all, although I cooled them on the wire rack (as indicated in the recipe). As a result, instead of storing the cookies in a jar so that they would not lose their crisp properties, I kept them open on the table for several days so that they would “harden” and crunch a little.
2. Oatmeal was strongly felt in the finished biscuits. I'm starting to think that I had some kind of wrong flakes, although it seems like a regular Hercules. Maybe it should be chopped before adding to the dough?
3. Yes, and the cookies spread when baking something very strong

Banana smelled especially during baking. The taste is felt. One drawback is rather fatty. I want to try reducing the amount of oil and putting 2 bananas instead of one.
