Hello! After a month of torment, I stopped at the HP Panasonic. It remains to choose between the "legendary" 255 and the new 257. Since we have neither one nor the other in our stores, I cannot "turn both stoves in my hands" and choose. Therefore, I ask for help from the owners of the 255th (if there are also owners of the 257th, then it's generally great!). All programs for these stoves are the same. I'm interested in BUCKET. The new one has a different coating. But I'm wondering, is it otherwise the same? The bucket differs from Panas, as I heard, in strength and thickness. I will have the opportunity to touch the bucket of the new model, but not with the "old" one yet. Can someone weigh a bucket from 255 ... (just don't laugh!) Weigh ?! And further . What is the shaft made of in your model (the screw at the bottom of the HP inside the housing that rotates the blade shaft?) Metal or plastic? On the bucket itself, this thing (on the bottom outside) is metal, but on the bottom of the case?

Not such a funny question. We have already weighed, read:https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/index.php@option=com_smf&topic=23647.0
So I also weighed my bucket and wrote it down just in case. My bucket is even lighter than the others. Without a shoulder blade -668g, with a wheat shoulder -693g, with a rye -688g. I bought the stove in December 2009.
But the little thing, at the bottom of the HP, is made of something incomprehensible, black, does not look like metal.
Alexa13
lega, thank you very much! One of these days I will see the 257th, look carefully, weigh the bucket. I just want to make sure it's as thick as the "prototype" - 255th. And now they make thin cans in many stoves. The heat distribution is poor. And the rotary mechanism so that it was strong (but how can you knead the dough on dumplings ?!
Rina
Alexa13, I weighed the bucket of the 255th model only with a spatula (normal), it was 726 grams (this is a "native" bucket, a spare gram is 20 more).
Alexa13
Rina72 , Thank you!
It's strange, why is everyone's weight different? ... The roofing felts release buckets a little different, the roofing felts just have different scales ...

In general so. I weighed the bucket of the 257th model. Believe it or not, I went with my weights, it seemed accurate, I checked. Accuracy up to 1gr. So:
-empty bucket-753gr.
-with an ordinary shovel-778gr. (shoulder blade 25 g.)
-with a rye spatula-
772gr. (shoulder blade 19 g.)
Oh, the bucket is even heavier than the 255th! Strong, thick-walled, not a "tin". Solid. The coating is dark, smooth. She didn't scratch with her nails to check the strength.

The "spinner", about which she asked, apparently, is exactly the same as in 255th.

In general, as I understood from the words of sellers, descriptions, information from the forum: this is the same 255th model, only with improved bucket coverage. And the design change is a gray cover instead of a white one. The company just needs to create the appearance that they have released a new model, but there is no point in changing something in a product that is wildly popular. Therefore, we went to such a trick - to continue producing the 255th model, changing the number to 257 and painting the lid.
Apparently, the model is so perfect that they decided not to change anything, only the coating in the bucket was improved.
sazalexter
Alexa13 only the coating in the bucket has been improved.
This was a weak point for the model, there were complaints on our forum
The firm simply took into account the wishes, that's all.
IMHO, many Japanese firms have an analytical department that collects information, including on Russian-language sites
Alexa13
Yes, sazalexter , thanks, I understood so. I was just worried if it was dangerous to buy a new model, if it would be ... "weaker" than its predecessor. And this is it, only better!
Tatochka
Hello! The choice between these two models just arose. I read your comments, it seems to be inclined towards 257, but I can't understand why 257 is cheaper than 255? And in the store where I buy, the difference in price is 827 rubles, for some a trifle, but for me it is very significant. It seems like the 257 model is newer, at least the year of release, the bucket is better, as they say, well, I can't understand that.
Alexa13
Cheaper? It's strange, I compared prices in different online stores, everywhere these stoves cost the same (where I looked). Another thing is that the price in different stores for them is different, from 5.5 thousand to 9 thousand. Moreover, the 255th in some stores is not available and is not expected, they say that they will probably not be there, because they are already will not release, go to 257.
Have you seen them together in the same store? And do they cost differently? I have only one guess. Sellers want to make the most of the "promoted", already known model - 255th. And some are still afraid to buy the 257, a novelty after all (although it's the same model!). So they are "luring" at a lower price.
I read the forum here, in one thread I found the same topic as this one, only four years ago. People used the 207th and 253rd models and were very afraid of the new product that had just gone on sale. This is ... 255th! We thought whether it was worth taking it, whether it would not let us down. Wow, so much time has passed, so everything has changed and everything has returned - a new model has come out (not even a new one, but just an improvement of the "legend"!) And people (including you and me) are afraid again ...

Uh-huh
Yes, I somehow didn't think about trying to make money on proven models and pushing new ones at the expense of a lower cost. Thank you, you opened my eyes
Well, for me, this is still the first choice, a very dreary occupation by the way, especially when you consider that it is difficult for me to determine something in life and the first bread maker.
Thank you leaned towards 257
Alexa13
By the way, now I looked in the online store on the Panasonic website (eplaza store), there is no 255th at all (not "out of stock", but no pictures and descriptions at all). Some time ago I was. I suppose that the stores really "sell the leftovers", and then only 256/257 models will be on sale. But the description for model 257 on the Panasonic website (!) Is a one-to-one description of the 255th. Again, I conclude for myself that this is the same model, do not be afraid to buy!

Tatochka, I agree with you, it is very difficult to choose such serious purchases, especially when there are no extra several thousand. Weigh all the pros and cons. She herself is. The bread maker, however, is not my first one, I bought it 8 (!) Years ago (LG), I still am not overjoyed! (pah-pah-pah!). It took a second - suffered with a choice, broke her head. The last stage of torment is the choice between 255 and 257 models. I'll take, perhaps, also the 257th! We will be with you one of the "pioneers"! Good luck to us!!!
Tatochka
May God grant you to enjoy your bread maker longer.
Yes, that's right, not everyone has full pockets of money. I do not mind being a pioneer, although, based on parameters 257, I am not a pioneer at all. At least I will hope that it is just as well assembled and nothing is simplified.
Yes, of course, good luck to us !!
Alexa13
Thank you so much! So I was just over this question and racked my brains whether she was as good-quality as her predecessor. I decided that Panasonic is not the kind of company that will "lose face", even during the global crisis. Let's take a chance! (although what a risk with Panasonic!).
verchik
* JOKINGLY * Girls. I got 255 model and wanted it for a long time. But how?! I missed that there was a new model ?! I'm interested in myself. Today only found in the net.
Please tell me what errors were or are there with a bucket at 255model? I can't find this information anywhere. Thank you.
Alexa13
verchik , I have not used Panasonic yet, so I cannot share my personal observations. But as far as I understood from the messages on the forum and from the reviews, on the bucket of 254/255 models, scratches quickly appeared on the non-stick coating, and over time, some of it peeled off and even it was difficult to remove the bread. For example, here is this message from Bread Pete
https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/index.php@option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=65691.new;topicseen#new
Or in the same thread a few posts above from sazalexter.
Several more times I came across, but I can't find it right away.
But this problem, fortunately, is not for everyone. The manufacturers, apparently, took into account the complaints and began to produce buckets with a new, improved coating, diamond-fluoride, which, according to their statements, is 2 times stronger than the previous one.

Alexa13 Don't scare people like that! Bucket peels off after about 3 years Panasonic SD-257
"Reply # 28: 28 July 2010, 21:52:55"Hope otherwise it's in my stove in 3 years intensive work very shabby. https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/index.php@option=com_smf&topic=65691.20
Before that, it is only covered with micro scratches, which hardly affect the quality of the bread !!! Only if the answer to the aesthetic perception of the bucket is the Panasonic SD-257

What do you mean, sazalexter , I do not frighten! Only prompted verchikwhere I saw the reviews that interested her. If the bucket will serve correctly for 3 years, it is already excellent, and there you can order a new one, "diamond". Let's hope that the bucket in the new model will be really excellent and the stove will delight its owners for a long, long time with flawless work (like its predecessor 255!)
STEEL56
The bucket is scratched by salt and sugar. To make the bucket last a long time, do not be lazy and always dissolve salt and sugar in water. Flour and yeast will not scratch the bucket. Well, wash - only with warm water and a cloth and no powders and brushes.
Hope
My bucket was badly damaged by bread with seeds and nuts. This happened at the very beginning of the operation of the stove, when I wanted to try all the recipes. Then I didn't bake such bread again.
The bucket is mostly scratched when the bread is taken out when the crust is still hard.
I hope the new model has a more durable coating, although three years is not bad for a bucket. Shabby can still be used.
Tatochka
Well, actually, I bought this miracle of technology on September 2nd. Today I found a large scratch on the shoulder blade (to whitish) and circular light scratches on the bottom. I will make a reservation, I baked 5 loaves of white with raisins and put the raisins dry, not soaked. Apparently it still needs to be soaked. While I'm learning from my own mistakes. My husband happily eats bread with raisins with tea, asks with nuts and dried fruits, so I was already prepared to say goodbye to the bucket. I don’t know what makes the bucket from 255 model worse, but the bucket from 257 didn’t impress, although there is really nothing to compare with, this is my first bread maker. Still, no, one thing impressed me, it washes great, literally a simple rinse and everything goes away. While everything according to the recipes turns out great, there were no mistakes. The neighbors are glancing sideways towards our door, but so far they do not dare to ask about the smells from our apartment. Today in the afternoon I will learn how to make sourdough, I hope no one will need to call an ambulance later =)) from loss of consciousness due to exhaustion by aromas. All of the above is my personal opinion and may completely contradict the opinions of others. Also, my opinion is not an instruction to the decision to purchase or refuse to purchase this model. Although I'm sooooo happy with the stove. I love her unhappy, what is ahead for her, hehe ...
Alexa13
Tatochka, congratulations! And I bought it !!!

Tatochka, dear, well, why are you so sloppy ?! How annoying, brand new! Raisins, of course, need to be soaked (then dried).
Mila007
And sometimes I don't soak it .. And I had 2 HP from different manufacturers. No matter how much it baked, no scratches or even a hint of them. And with seeds, and with dry raisins and with various additives ... Just because of my forgetfulness, I cut bread without removing the stirrer from it. So I left a deep scratch on the mixer. So far it's okay
Alexa13
It's just that raisins are different. One soft, elastic, soaking is not required, just rinse (while rinsing, it will additionally soften). And the other is dry, hard, one rinsing will not help, you need to soak a little. And if you put it dry in a bucket, without washing, then scratches are guaranteed. But to white! ...

I congratulate you too !!! Yes, a normal action, because you want first and then and that. They rush you - you are in a hurry, you do stupid things, and more than once. Of course, I went too far with the description a little, a scratch ~ 4mm, and not quite straight white, well, such a light one. In principle, I was not even upset, because it will get worse further. What is your impression of the bucket, is it better?
P.S. Just the mixer did not get stuck nirazu, it is somehow magically always baked to the shaft.

Better or not, probably, someone who used Panasonic before can say. I cannot compare, but I really like the stove itself, I try to handle the bucket very carefully, even though it is diamond coated. But I hope that at least it is not worse. We'll see in a year. While I will try all the programs and modes, the recipes are different.
By the way, about the scapula, and really - miracles! But it dangles very much! Does not sit tightly on the pin. But he manages not to bake.
